I spent 4 hours at the salon just to have 3 nails chip the next day. I dont think that it was worth the $40.

Terrible service. Nails had to be re-done three times because their colors were coded wrong! I was there for almost two hours. In the end my toes did not match my hands at all! They got all frustrated with me as if it was my fault. And yes full price! Never again. If I had time to go elsewhere I would have, but was catching a flight. read more

The owner is Ann and she is very personable and remembers my name every time I call to make a new appointment. She converses with me when I'm there and treats me like a valued customer. WORST nail salon I have been to in a very long time. There are only two people who work in this salon, so you will wait forever unless there is no one else there. They have hardly any regular nail polish to choose from, I had to go buy my own polish. I waited over an hour in the pedicure chair, I had to keep taking my feet out of the hot Water because after soaking for so long it began to be painful. Not sanitary at all- I literally watched her take the loofa she had just used to scrub my feet and use the pedicure jets to "clean" it so it could be re-used on someone else. This is not healthy or sanitary by any means. I should have ran after that experience but decided to give them another chance. I got a full-set and could not have been more displeased with the results. The acrylic was cheap, they applied it way too thick, and after 1 week one of my acrylic nails has already come off. I normally do not write reviews but I feel like this place deserves one. You cannot treat your customers terribly AND provide terrible quality. read more

I have tried a lot of nail places around Tampa and this is my favorite! Even though it's out of the way for me this is the only place I'll go to now. My nails always look perfect and last longer than any other place I've ever gone. The Thai Pedicure is my favorite. All the staff is always friendly but Thai is the best. It's always extremely clean, the massage chairs are very relaxing, and I don't know how but I never smell that nail shop smell in there. Love this place! read more

My pedicure was done by Kathy who was excellent. She took her time working on my feet and it was the best pedicure I've had in years. Will be returning back. We got pedicures (starting at $20 up to $40 in price depending on what you want), and manicures with gel. The owner still remembered me after three years! (I moved away and I'm back visiting.) I have to start out by saying I don't know why there are any negative reviews about this wonderful nail salon. First off and most importantly to me is they have a wonderful filtration system and you will not smell acetone or any other dangerous nail chemical here! Secondly the staff are absolutely incredible, the manager Ann is always friendly and accommodating. She make certain that every customer feels special. Thao is absolutely the most incredible Nail Tech I have ever used. Truthfully when she works her magic I can go three weeks and my nails look simply perfect! Kathy always greets you with a smile and would do just about anything to make your experience a great one. I should state that I have tried at least 20 salons throughout the Tampa Bay area and have never had such a wonderful experience as I have here!! Also on another note if you are not happy with any of your treatments here, all you have to do is speak up, the staff here is wonderful and wants you to leave totally satisfied with their services! Worst salon ever DO NOT GO HERE. They did my nails uneven and bumpy and insisted that I got gel when I told her I wanted regular nail polish several times. I could see through the gel in some parts of my nail because it was so bumpy on my nail. They looked ridiculous . I then said I wasn't going to pay for them and the lady said she'd fix them and they still ended up crooked and bumpy ..I ended up paying full price still even though they close at 7:30 and I was there until 9 pm because they took so long to do them and then "fix " them. I had to pay at another salon to get them fixed because they would have kept messing mine up because clearly they don't know how to do nails properly . OH AND NOT TO MENTION THE LADY DREW BLOOD WHEN CLIPPING THE EXTRA NAIL BY MY CUTICLE . I will never ever go here again. If I could give a negative star I would. read more

Solar Nail Salon is a convenient place for quick service at a reasonable price. Manicures and pedicures are about $3.00 less than what you pay in most nail salons in this area. However, their inexpensive service fees come with an attached price tag. See... their catch is offer clients additional unnecessary services that will leave you with less $$ in your pocket and mediocre service for the money you paid. I've had 2 manicures and pedicures done with acrylic nails during my initial visit to the salon. Can't believe I had to basically tell the technician how to remove the cuticles. Acrylic nails work? there have been multiple complaints about this place doing things so quickly that gluing acrylics well in not a priority. Therefore, leaving things half way done, leaves enough room for bacterial growth under the nails. Besides mediocre work done at the salon, Ann the business owner is very good at lying and manipulating clients into buying more and at times, she and her staff will critique the work done by their competition. Why? They obviously do this with the intent of making clients believe they do better service than most other nail salons. Clever ha! but not exactly smart. Do yourself a favor and go to a professional nail salon where you will enjoy better service but will not be lied to or pressed to buy more. Joy's Nails on Highway 60 in Brandon is a much better choice also, Classy Nails on Lithia Pinecrest is good. read more

When I first moved to the area I went here for a much needed pedicure and was happy, nothing spectacular, seemed clean enough and price was good. I actually thought to myself, cool I already found a nail place yay me! Well then things started going downhill.....visited here 3 more times before I said no more! Kept getting dirtier and dirtier, I saw one of the girls drop a tool and it went way under the pedicure chair, she pulled it out and went right back to work on the pedicure without cleaning it, super yuck. I would ask for simple things like a heart on my ring finger and they never looked very good, the one girl there only knows how to do one design apparently. The final straw was a gel manicure that was all bubbly. I noticed as she was painting my nails that the polish was bubbling and she did too, she even called the manager over about it and they spoke in another language about. When I told her it wasn't smooth and I was not happy she told me the bubbles would go away. I knew that was probably shenanigans but since I had already been there for 2 HOURS for a mani/pedi I didn't feel like arguing I just knew I would never come back. The next day the gel was already peeling off and I had wasted 25 bucks. Really aggravating. The only good thing I found there was they had a kids size chair which is cute, but who would want their kids toes touched in that dirty place? read more

This is my favorite indulgence nail salon! They are usually busy, but take appointments and they take special care to provide exceptional quality. They have completely renovated and upgraded from floor to ceiling. I love the soft music and calming atmosphere...a great place to escape and relax. Clipped and filed my nails and put one coat of clear polish. Did nothing with my cuticles. Only one coat of polish on my toes. Will never go back again. read more

Very disappointed recent visit to Florida had a pedicure here. Leg massage inadequate, only one coat of polish, no top coat and put my flip flops on when still wet. The polish chipped the next day. Unfortunately, I didn't have the time or transportation to return to complain before I left Florida. This is disappointing as my first experience with a male tech in July 2014 was fantastic. If I do return on my next visit, I know who I do not want as the tech and do plan to speak to the manager. There is no excuse, they were not busy, I was the only customer in the store, the tech did not speak English and acted confused when I said I needed change so I could give her a tip as I paid in cash. Also, although the other chairs were not occupied, she directed me to one that the massager did not work. I had an absolute horrible experience at this place. I could really tell they are just trying to rip me off. I told them I just wanted regular nail polish for hands and nails and they just kept coercing me. I told them no about over five times to the point she started putting gel nail polish on my hands already. I am not the kind of person that is out right mean to someone or very strong so I just gave up and silently watched her do it. Then she told me she "normally" charges $30 for a gel manicure and she gave me a five dollar discount and made it $25 just for me. I checked the prices on my phone after she was done and what do you know...the normal price is 25$. She didn't give me any discount. I don't expect her to give me any discount anyways but she didn't have to lie to me about giving me one.
