So I honestly could not have been more pleased with Solar Symphony's entire effort, from their onsite team who did the inspection and later installed the panels, to the project manager Bethany and office manager Alaina. Everyone I dealt with was extremely professional and friendly, and they definitely all know the "art" of treating the customer as #1. The guys who came to do the installation were very respectful and fun to deal with... kept things light while doing a very professional, thorough job, and took time to show me what they were doing up on the roof and answer my questions. They accidentally damaged a window screen, and were very forthright about coming to us right away, and having it fixed by the 2nd/final day of the installation. The installation of the inverter and other equipment on the side of the house was done very well and paint touched up (looks better than before they came). The entire process went VERY quickly, from initial inspection, to design and plans approval, installation, electric company signoff/permit, and finally permission to operate from SCE. Solar Symphony explained the process well and drove things quickly to completion and got us up and running in less than 2 weeks! We "found" Solar Symphony after working with Pick My Solar (the "lending tree" in the solar business), and their pricing and overall offer was the best of the various bids. If anybody wants to have solar panels installed I believe you can't do better than to go with this contractor. I am in the Scripps Ranch area. They did everything: from design to blueprints to getting permits to installation and final inspection. Plus a mountain of paperwork. And not just did but did perfectly. And it was very difficult getting permits. I am certain that without their assistance I would not have received permits from a quite hostile HOA or it would have taken forever at best. The SMA inverter allows us to monitor our production each day via mobile app. We're able to run A/C virtually the entire day, keeping the house nice at 75, and power bills are just $2-3/mo. Where do we begin... From the top to the bottom Solar Symphony has professionals at every point in the process. Not only did they have the best cost for our particular system, but they went above and beyond at every level. We had several conversations from sales, operations, and the owner and found them to be extremely polite, courteous, honest, responsive and flexible. In addition to setting up the traditional solar, they were able to accommodate my request to install a 240 Volt Charger for our Ford Focus EV. I am the epitome of Analysis Paralysis and finding the right solar company was no exception. After sitting down or talking to 9 different providers, I quickly realized there were two camps: PPA [20-yr lease] pushers and IMO the better option, solar purchase. I was interested in buying the system and obtaining a low interest rate 10 yr loan (Home Equity or Solar) with monthly payments that were lower cost to than our average monthly electric bill. So we were down to about 4 companies that actually wanted to sell the system without leasing. BTW I checked what it would cost to buy the equivalent system from those PPA leasing companies and it turns out it was about a 30-50% premium. yikes. Don't get me wrong, PPAs may make sense for folks who do not have the cash or means to get a low interest long term loan. After narrowing to 4 companies, I then had two friends recommend Solar Symphony, but I already had 4 solid quotes from 4 great solar companies, so I was a little skeptical. Mark, one of Solar Symphony's account managers, was extremely professional and cut through the bologne. He's able to converse on all levels, but I wanted to know the details basically how much, how long, and when. The major botteleneck in the 'how long', as one would suspect, is the power company SDGE. Their quote was the best in our case and they agreed to flexible payment options and installing the EV charger at cost. Obviously don't just trust their rave reviews, go and get quotes from the reputable solar companies and I strongly believe you will find Solar Symphony to the be the lowest cost, highest quality/service companies in San Diego! We finally got around to installing Solar about a year ago and wonder why we did not act sooner. The largest issue was trying to find an installer because there is no clear direction outside of reviews. After speaking with a few installers over the phone (keeping them out of our house initially because typical sales people can be like bed bugs...hard to get rid once inside), we choose Solar Symphony. I initially spoke with Robert at Solar Symphony for about an hour and felt very comfortable and confident. He then stopped by our house and drafted a reasonable quote. We decided to use the credit union they endorsed down in San Diego. The only issue was that we are located in Orange County and ineligible for their financing. It was a really small issue that Solar Symphony handled within a day. After permits, the crew had our panels up and running in a matter of days (along with a new fuse panel). Although we slightly over paneled thinking that we would own an electric car in the future or possibly a pool, we have never paid more than the line access fee each month (needed because we sell electricity back to the power company and tap into the grid at night). After 16 months with working panels we have around a 1,000 kilowatt credit. Everyone was curious, fast and responsive. In fact, our neighbor used Solar Symphony a few months later. Ironically, my in laws also installed solar and went with a different contractor and have several issues along the way (mostly around customer service). If we were to sell this house, I would not hesitate to call Solar Symphony again. read more

Just an all around great company. I had a solar system on my roof that came with the house I bought and found out recently that it doesn't even work and the way they installed it wasn't even up to code. I live in Yorba Linda and the company that installed it, based in Orange, isn't even in business anymore (shocker). I shopped around for several weeks, trying to figure out if I should try to have it repaired or just get a new one. I met with several companies and got a range of estimates--some as high as $65,000! Most of the companies were going to charge me thousands of dollars to take my old system down. Not Solar Symphony. Not a dime. They were the one company that I didn't feel was trying to overcharge me. Their sales rep Mike was fantastic and gave me an estimate by email within a few days that was very reasonable. He didn't try to sell me on stuff I didn't need, or ask me to sign up for some program that would put a lien on my house. Solar Symphony arranged all my financing and gave me a great rate with no money down and no up front financing charges like many competitors are charging (some are charging as much as $1000 for the right to finance--crazy). I had expected the project to take at least a couple months from signing the contract, through the permit process, and installation. This company was unbelievable. Brett came out and took measurements and did the initial assessment within a few days of my first conversation with their sales team. They got my design done within a few days and had my system up in less than 2 weeks! Unreal! Mike and the team were in touch with me every step of the way, including their folks on the financing end, which was reassuring. I literally got my loan approved within a week. The installation crew was fantastic as well. Shawn, our foreperson, was outstanding and up front with me about everything they were doing and how they were going to do it. It was a real educational experience. Alfonso and Eddie did a picture perfect job. They drove up I believe all the way from Escondido with all the panels and parts and were on time every single day. They were at my house for about 3 days and took care of everything, removing my old panels and wiring, then installing the new system and monitoring equipment. They were friendly, easy going, kept things clean and packed up everything when they were done as though no one had ever been there. The panels look fantastic. In only the 20 hours or so it's been up and running I've already produced more power than I did in the last month with my old system. I would recommend these guys to anyone. Solar Symphony did a great job! They were very responsible and made sure everything was cleaned up when they were done. They did it for $17,000 less than the quote I got from Solar Alliance of America. It took only 43 days from contract signing to utility interconnection, throwing the switch. Solar Symphony used special inverters that allow me to have power when the sun is shining even if the utility is down. That's nice because I've already had three power outages from the utility. Solar Symphony understands customer service!! That is something I find missing from many businesses these days. My project with Solar Symphony was complex and unusual. I cannot say it was the smoothest process in the world mostly due to hurdles created by The City of Los Angeles and Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. I can also say that Solar Symphony Construction absolutely messed up on a few things during the whole process as is typical with any type of construction. However, when they made a mistake, they admitted to it, apologized for it and fixed it. They were always on my side when we had to deal with LADWP, which is always a nightmare. Dealing with LADWP for residential solar is mind-numbing. Solar Symphony worked with them constantly until they got everything approved and were able to turn on my system. She stayed on top of every detail from beginning to end. In truth every single person I dealt with throughout this project went out of their way to make the transition smooth. After everything was completed then along came Finn. Finn is a master stucco man. And as such he is a perfectionist.
