I went here for happy hour and later had food delivered. This place is beautiful. It's perfect for meeting up with friends, co-workers or date night. For happy hour I had the Sultans lemonade....tequila based cocktail-so good. My friend & I shared the baklava bites (best app ever), Moroccan fries and spicy hummus. Everything was delicious. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of five is transparency. We requested additional pitas, but we were charged w/out telling us first. I had the olive oil cake delivered at a later date. The best dessert I have had all year-moist & so flavorful.

The interior was elegantly decorated. Everything that we ordered were good, even the fries that came with the burger was unique- their seasoning tasted like paprika was part of the ingredients. Rigatoni with pesto pasta and burrata was good, the pine nuts added some texture. The eggplant dip made me melt, it was just really deliciious. My favorite is the lamb shank because I am a meat eater and lover, also bec it was very tender and tasty. Service was good, but I did overhear on another table as we leave that they are receiving a slow service. One server told us they were not expecting too much people the night we went. They did not have much reservation and yet the restaurant had a lot of people.

My husband and I decided to stop in on an early Wednesday evening for dinner. We were immediately blown away by how beautiful the interior was. We arrived during happy hour and initially wanted to sit by the bar but decided to just sit at a table and forego happy hour. We're so glad we did. Although it was almost 6pm, the dining area had quite a bit of people. We were seated quickly at a table without a reservation which we appreciated. We started with the octopus and chorizo, grape, tomato and burrata, and the fattoush salad. Dinner was the squid ink shrimp and lobster linguini and rigatoni and burrata. We ended with kanafe for dessert. Octopus dish 4.5/5: very tender, crispy chickpeas were great, sauce was AMAZING, but it didn't need the chorizo. The chorizo flavor wasn't very prevalent. Burrata 5/5: the tomatoes were so sweet and grapes were a great touch Fattoush 4.5/5: refreshing, slightly sweet, balanced, just wish there were more bulgur and pita Squid ink linguini 4/5: mild spice, flavor was good but wasn't a wow and the shrimp, although plump were a bit bland. The pasta was nice and al dente Rigatoni and burrata 4/5: the pesto was very good, the portion was generous but the overall flavor was alright. Kanafe: it was tasty and my husband really enjoyed but I think after a few bites I was content. I'd give Solaz a solid 4.5/5, but I rounded up because we had a great evening. Overall, service was very good. It did take a long time to get our entree but the restaurant was very busy with many large groups so I was understanding. Our server Kenny was awesome! Great personality and recommended some good options. He was also checking in often which was appreciated. Brahim, which I believe is the manager, also made the night memorable. He checked in with us and offered us wine which was much appreciated! I will definitely be back to Solaz to try out other dishes!

Came here with my family to celebrate my sister's graduation (party of 10) and thankfully there's ample parking garages in the area and they also offer valet parking as well. Was immediately taken in by the beauty of the lobby / the restaurant in general, lots of tall ceilings, soft lighting and golds and light browns. The hostess was nice and instantly showed us to our table and our server was punctual and let us know the special right off the bat. We got the mezze platter ($40) which came with 8 pita and the baklava bites ($19 for 5 pieces) which was a savory, mushroom based baklava which was advertised as one of their best sellers and as a lover of mushrooms, I enjoyed my one piece very much. My sister got the lamb Bolognese ($35) and was disappointed with how little lamb was in the sauce. I got the black linguine with scallop and shrimp ($47) which had literally 3 shrimps and 2 scallops on it.... That being said the shrimp were rather large and cooked perfectly but the scallops were a little salty. The linguine had enough calabrian chili in that a soft heat lingered on your palette but not enough to cause discomfort. We got a couple of desserts, forget which ones off the top of my head but they were all good, especially I think it was tiramisu donut loukamades. I'm not a local any longer but wouldn't come back in the future except for very special occasions, the price point for the amount of food that you get, isn't it for me. Also looking at their menus on their website is poor in that in order to zoom in (on mobile at least), you have to download the image then zoom in that way, per menu per meal. Also they had a ln interesting gimmick in that a photographer came to our table suddenly and took a couple of group shots and then returned towards the end of our meal with those pictures in glass frames and we could buy them for $20 a pop (including the frame).

I chose Solaz to celebrate my sister's birthday. I am a fan of David Burke and Mediterranean cuisine. The restaurant has a very hip and modern vibe. I was concerned about parking in that area and was told they have valet parking. It turned out that it is only on Friday/Saturdays. There are a few parking lots near by but the misinformation did create confusion and a frigid walk to the restaurant along with a $32 parking tab for 3 hours at the lot. Service was very good. Our server, Haivon made every effort to accommodate us. Appetizers Baklava bites- excellent Tunisian crispy shrimp Entrees Salmon Skirt steak Lamb shank Dessert Olive oil cake Tiramisu Donuts Overall, Solaz is a nice spot in the Newport area. Food was very good and they also have Full Swing Suites that you can book by the hour.

First time customer and I am definitely coming back. We ordered the goat cheese flatbread( very tasty) the lamb bolognese and the chicken with potatoes. To top it off we finished with the olive oil cake. The food was so flavorful and comforting and our server ANDRES- you set the bar for customer service. So kind and extremely attentive. He even gave us a tour of the entire place being first time visitors! Can't thank you enough. I recommend this place to anyone to try!

I had a wonderful time at Solaz. The interior is stunning and the ambiance was perfect for a date night. I got there before my reservation and got a drink at the bar. Their happy hour menu is reasonably priced for the area. For our meal, we ordered the spicy harissa hummus and fries as starters. I loved the hummus, it was creamy and the spice wasn't overwhelming. For entrees I ordered the chicken. It came with a chimichurri sauce, potatoes, and veggies. It was good but I feel like the apps were better and wish I tried more. Definitely will go back!

We absolutely loved Solaz! From the moment we were greeted at the door to leaving, it was a great experience. The food and service was phenomenal. We started with the Muhammara (delicious!), then had the citrus & saffron chicken and salmon & artichoke, and wrapped up with the olive oil cake for dessert. Everything was on point! Also, dishes were cleared quickly, water was refilled whenever it was low, and everyone was so kind. And, the design and overall vibe was amazing! Would definitely recommend.

Food was pretty decent. Service was quick, but drinks weren't super great. Definitely overpriced for what it was. Ambiance was nice large restaurant.

    Appetizer shrimp and baklava

I am a foodie and I love trying new spots. My god father and I tried this spot. Hostess was kind and accommodating. appetizers were delicious had the shrimp and the Baklava. My entree was mid skirt steak frites and black linguini with shrimp with scallops . Steak was not flavorful --over cooked and fatty, fries were mid. cocktails were okay. Ambiance nice, we sat outside no one else was there at the time. Server Erica was okay just no personality AT ALL Which kinda sucked because it was a special occasion. Cool experience likely won't be back though.

Wow. Went for Vday Dinner Package, I mean the food is exceptional. Everything we ate was so good. Cocktails was great and for $16 a steal. Very attentive the minute you walk in, coat check is offered, and valet is $15 which is also a great thing to offer. Ambience was good, music throughout the restaurant was popping, bathroom is VERY beautiful. Waiters & servers were very on it also. Probably one of the best places to dine at now in Jersey city - Newport Area.

This restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. Literally from the two large wooden doors at the entry I fell in love. The decor is so warm and the food was just as warm and delicious. The staff anticipated our every need before we even had to flag them and I really appreciated the quick service. I was there on a Sunday before the big snow storm. Because the storm was coming they graciously accommodated us by moving our reservation up. Very kind people and some STRONGGGG drinks! That's a good thing lol

Absolutely love this place! Just opened up in Nov 2025. Has amazing ambiance, decor, drinks, and food. Loved the chocolate infused bourbon. Has many vegetarian options. Parking is available on street and near by parking Garage. Service was quick and waitress was extremely attentive. Would definitely be coming back for more.

It delivered on both fronts, but I really was blown away by the wine. The sheer quantity of available wines is really impressive, and the sommelier was able to recommend a rare wine that fit our interests (a fantastic, effervescent, creamy Txakoli that had lovely fruit and minerals). Later, I tried amazing ice cider. The food rundown: -Sesame pizza Bianca: complimentary bread! This was very good and quite sizable. The bottom is entirely encrusted with sesame. -Scallop crudo (rhubarb, shiso): very good and the plating was gorgeous. Meaty scallops with tangy and pungent flavors. -Snowdance chicken (spinach, sherry, thyme): Super tender, crispy-skinned chicken in a savory sherry sauce. -Sea bass (asparagus, hollandaise): I was surprised at how remarkably well this dish worked. The asparagus was so good with the rich, buttery sauce. Definitely a smaller portion, but the chicken was huge so it balanced out. -Potatoes with ramps: Yum. Served hashbrown-style and the ramps were added as little sauce dollops. I loved the space, and by that I mean the ambience and also the literal amount of space we had to ourselves. We got to stretch out in a roomy corner booth. The room featured a lot of exposed brick and grey and utilitarian ceilings, but it manages to be cozy all the same.

We came in on a Friday evening and it was pretty quiet inside. After we were sat down upstairs, it took a long time for our waitress to come to take our order. All three had very strong flavors that were not balanced with the rest of the drink. After we finished our drinks, we waited an especially long time for the waitress to come back, check on us, and give us our bill. It was especially frustrating because we were the only ones in the bar at this point and we could hear them chatting downstairs. Overall, both service and the drinks need improvement.
