They got me all set up!

Amazing service, I cannot recommend enough! Impeccable communication through the whole entire process. The movers were so kind & careful. Pricing was really clear & payment was easy. I have used Solidarity to move 4 times & definitely would again!

Such a stress free move to Midtown Manhattan because Solidarity is AWESOME. They worked with me months out when I didn't have a concrete date set/changed possible dates a few times as we had so much renovation stuff to finish at our house in Denver. Eugene and Zak were so accommodating and helpful over email and phone calls, and gave us peace of mind with our quote being accurate. It was $1575 for up to 6 hours which I figured would be more than an ample amount of time for our only 15ft UHaul, and it took the 3 movers only like.. 2 hours to get everything up. They said they'd arrive anywhere from 8:30am - 10am and met us up at 9am which was super appreciated. Tommy and his guys were ON IT. They accommodated a last minute location change to pick up the UHaul at our hotel lot across the river in NJ instead, got to the apt in record time, and immediately got us parked and unloaded. Super nice men, hella strong, worked so efficiently, and welcomed us to the city :) Thank you so much to Solidarity and Tommy's team for our 5 star moving experience.

    Best team in the land!

Essentially I keep a variety of items in my storage room as I live in a NYC apartment which unless you are fortunate enough to have a loft space or old factory apartment, is kind of tight and some things need to be secured away. That being said some instruments, bikes and books are tucked away in one of the Bay Ridge/Sunset Park units. Overall, it seems very easy to deal with the place and once you are at your unit its basically self service and self help. You have to enter a code to enter the actual storage areas and one should put that in a safe place. I haven't really had any issues with the overall safety of my property but of course like many people wish that I just had the room in my living space for it all. There are obviously assorted size units depending on your needs and it seems to be a non-issue should you need to get more space since the building is rather large. So if you are like me, then this is a solid choice for ones stuff or just have a garage sale, gifting, eBay or start donating. I need to do some of all three of those I think.

I went home picked up the six boxes And drove to the storage unit, Mind you the storage unit, my house and Home Depot are about seven blocks from each other. I get to the storage unit. It's about 830 AM, The sign on the door says open come on in. I try to open the door but it's locked. about five minutes still nobody I called the call center at (929) 547-9621, " they do not have a physical person that works at this location and that the key is inside the storage unit" I thought OK well I guess that's possible. But when I went to the storage unit and I attempted to open it, it didn't open it was locked. So I called the 929 number listed above again Spoke to a different person, The second person I spoke to Stated " They're probably walking or helping somebody into their new unit, And asked if I could give 5-10 Minutes" I gave 11 Person still not there. So I called the 929 number a 3rd time This time I expressed my frustration again and the lady on the phone Stated " There is one person for multiple facilities nearby. There was an emergency at another facility." It sounded like she was gonna ask me to just wait and be patient, but I cut her off and stated " That's not my problem, I want my money back. I have to return the van by 10 AM it's 926 " She said that she will put a request in for the cancellation While driving back home to drop off everything that was supposed to go into the storage unit A gentleman from this location called me and gave me a different excuse, He stated "Hi John, you requested a cancellation" I said yes he then stated "why" and I expressed my frustration again. Then he stated "Well, you need to understand sir. There is more than 100 units and I have to check every single one of them so you need to understand that" giving me an attitude. I said "then there should be two people working in that office not one, and that is not my problem that you have to go check everything". He then stated " Well what do you want me to do?" "To process my cancellation & my return like the Request says" I said. "Fine" he's said. I said "Thank you. You have a good day" right before I was able to hang up he said. "Fuck You" That's when I called the 929 number again unfortunately they don't have supervisors but they said that I should be receiving a call from upper management still waiting. This person that was on the phone was helpful, but she kept saying things like but sir, you need to understand no no that's not my problem. That's your problem going back-and-forth. I understand she wasn't the one that cursed at me, but she is guilty by association. Four different excuses, Rude employees disrespectful employees. After returning the van, we arrived home and I was able to view my receipt that had been emailed to me. I was surprised to see that they had charged me for almost 45 miles. As suggested by U-Haul, I had taken a photo of the odometer that morning, before we left the lot. The photo I initially took showed a higher starting mileage than claimed by the U-Haul receipt. According to my odometer photo and the ending mileage, we had only traveled around 11 miles, not the nearly 45 miles that they charged us for. The woman helping us that morning was very nice, so I called to tell her that their mileage calculation was inaccurate. I thought that she would be able to resolve the issue, especially since we had a time-stamped photo of the odometer, taken before we left the lot. Instead, she told me that she had sent a link via text for us to upload the photos showing the condition of the van and the odometer, before we left the lot. She said that uploading the photos before we left would have been the only way to prove my claim. There was no such text on either of our phones, and we were never informed that we were supposed to upload photos anywhere. We were only advised to take photos, which we did. If a franchise does not make enough money renting vehicles, they should increase the fees, not cheat their customers. I would have happily paid the $59, if it was an honest charge. Customers should be aware that they are scammers.

I totally have the email to prove that and that it was to be up and running in a few days. That was Nov 2016. We are now in May 2017!!! It's still a piece of crap. So I should call during business hours? Are you f'ing kidding me? That is just Genius! Ummmm, I DID. REPEATEDLY! Maybe you conveniently didn't get that memo like my emails requesting my items. YOUR VOICE MAIL/PHONE SYSTEM WAS MOT WORKING PROPERLY! IT CONTINUED TO HANG UP WHEN IT WAS TIME FOR ME TO LEAVE MY MESSAGE! TRUST ME, I tried! Luckily IN THE MIDSLE OF MY MADNESS, or not so luckily because no one EVER returned the call anyway, I was able to get ONE VOICE MAIL IN REQUESTING A CALL BACK AND THAT I WANTED ALL MY ITEAMS. She even confirmed that I would like her to update my address, I said yes, and then I received a call from the delivery driver this morning checking that my address is my old address (he was outside of my old apartment)! Seriously, wtf? This service is useful and convenient, but the customer service is TERRIBLE. The rep I dealt with seemed unable to answer simple clarification questions without a huge amount of attitude and bizarre miscommunications. When she picked up, I told her that I can't log in to my account because password reset emails never arrive (and aren't in my spam folder, or anywhere else), so can I please just schedule to have my stuff dropped off over the phone? She puts me on hold immediately, and then returns to ask me HOW I WANT MY PASSWORD RESET. I'm like, no, I don't care about that...I want my stuff back, can I schedule that on the phone? She puts me on hold again. Then she comes back and says, "OK, when do you want it?" I ask, "When can I have drop-off? Can you give me some time slots?" She tells me "6-8" tomorrow (Sunday) is available, so I say yes, assuming that means 6-8pm (it didn't). Then she asks me about whether I would like to have the driver wait 20 minutes or schedule bin pick-up for later, and I ask how much it would cost to have the bins picked up later. It's $17, so I pick that option. Then she tells me that I can schedule that online or via phone. I ask if I can't just schedule this later bin pick-up on the phone with her right now, and she gets confused and starts condescendingly "clarifying" about whether I am saying that I want my bins with my stuff in them scheduled later (instead of tomorrow). No, why would I be saying that, when we were just talking about scheduling empty bin pick-up?? And why doesn't it make sense to her that I want to schedule for ya'll to pick up my empty bins while we're on the phone right now, instead of having to repeat this nonsensical process all over again tomorrow or next week? Then she walks through the time slots, and when I stop her to clarify when she says that my stuff will be dropped off between 6-8 AM (because I originally thought she meant 6-8pm), she interrupts me to start repeating the whole spiel, instead of just listening to my simple question for 2 seconds. What the eff? Please hire some better reps.

Based on my estimates of the time the job would take, they were much cheaper than any of the 5 other companies we got quotes from. In the end though, the job did take longer than expected. They used three employees and a large truck. They provided blankets, plastic wrap, and tape to properly protect all items for transport. If they noticed any preexisting damage on the furniture, they notified us promptly so we were aware. Initially, they worked quite efficiently, but began to slow down during the second half of pick-up. What I thought would take about 4 hours ended up being a 6 hour job, including a 45 minute drive to the new place. They still came in cheaper than the next best quote we were considering, but not by much. When they finished the move, they left a mountain of tape, plastic, and cardboard, which they supplied, in our hallway. We thought they would clean it up before leaving, but we were left with that task, which was disappointing. They require a $50 + tax deposit to reserve a move. You pay the balance after all the work is done. They offer a discount if you pay in cash. Overall, they were professional and moving is grueling work so I have no major complaints, other than the debris they left behind. But be mindful that the time-based quote may add up, so be prepared to spend more than you might anticipate.
