Was referred for CT scan 5 days ago following blunt chest trauma. Chest X-ray showed 5 fractured…read moreribs. CT scan was done to rule out other injuries. Standard of care for results of trauma CT is 15 minutes. It has been five days and still no report. The only thing I got out of them was that they thought that I might have cancer on the abdominal CT, then nothing in spite of numerous calls. I had an abdominal CT in 4/24 at the hospital a block away. I told them that they needed to compare the two CTs. They did not think that it was in their job description to do the comparison. With my 5 rib fractures, I had to drive to the hospital, wait for them to burn a CT, take it to Hunt and wait for them to copy. Now, five days later, I am still waiting for results and concerned about the possible cancer diagnosis. The staff was courteous, but the radiologist(s) were lazy and negligent.

However when I received the call from them I was referred to the one on Merit. Ok so I got confirmation for this location. Than the emails and text messages started. Averaging at 5 text messages and 3 to 4 emails a day till my appointment. Can I tell how annoying that is. Apparently when I showed up for my appointment and told them they just needed to merge my file, really. Also when I tried calling them the person who answered was laughing and really wasn't listening to me. She said come in 15 minutes early to complete your paperwork. You know it would have been nice if this person cared enough to look at my information and notice the problem and corrected it. Now once I got in the check in was smooth and easy. Facility was great and clean. The two ladies that did my scan were great.

I've seen many freestanding radiology practices disappear, along with my reports and images, many of which would be valuable for comparison if only they were available. My first tip: Stick with a company with proven longevity, such as SWDIC. My second tip: Get all of your outpatient imaging done at the same place so that you will know how to quickly find what a provider may want to see some day. SWDIC does every procedure I can think of. My next tip: if you have special needs, go to an imaging center where the staff and their accomodations can meet your needs easily. Two examples: at SWDIC, I always had the best of care from Cindy, the same mammography tech year after year, despite my limitations from MS. And I know of no other place you can have an MRI if you can't just get up and walk away from your power wheelchair (Don't I wish!) and walk the long distance to the MRI table. Uh, there's a good reason that I must use a power wheelchair, and only SWDIC has an MRI with a detachable exam table that can be brought to the patient who can't trek to an attached exam table! I thank God for the foresight of SWDIC clinical and executive staff for providing this invaluable tool! Never have I ever met a SWIC staff member, from schedulers to the front desk, to the professional staff who was not both professional and kind, and personal if the interaction was long enough. You may well leave with your images and reports in hand; just ask, if that will be helpful. And don't get away without a parking voucher, although I've always been given one before I could ask.

The lady at the front desk was very nice. The lady who walked me to Radiology was so kind and made conversation knowing I was nervous. I've never had a spinal tap so I was worried. The assistant who took me back to the room was so kind and made me feel comfortable explaining everything. The PA, I think his name was Daniel, was amazing. He walked me through everything step by step and made great conversation knowing this was my first time. It's always so great to feel comfortable and taken care of in scary/new situations. I didn't call back as I had a Dr appointment on the 31st and got the Dr referral. I then didn't go due to another medical issue. 10 Apr, I went into the NRH location and made an appointment for13 Apr. Today they canceled my appointment again only to call again to reschedule. She never for once made a statement that showed she believed anything I complained about. She kept insinuating that it was in my head and the employees did not engage in unprofessional behaviors. I told her that if she does not have camera with sound on it then she cannot verify if what I am saying is wrong. She was not there and did not go through what I went through. I have never felt so uncomfortable before in my life and I did not deserve to be mocked and made fun of. All I did was come in for mammogram and was humiliated and used for amusement. Instead of staff working they were preoccupied with socializing and fraternizing. This is unacceptable and management should worry about retraining their staff and maybe employing more professional ones. Instead they don't feel their staff is wrong in anyway and think the customer is the problem! I was not happy with the conversation that Nora had with me and as a manager she is not going to do anything to rectify the situation. Here's the story, I went in to prime diagnostics. The form my doctor filled out does not have an…read morearea to select elbow, it's Prime's form. So they wrote forearm and bicep. I spoke with the technician prior to the MRI and made sure she was aware that I needed to have it for my lower forearm all the way up to my upper bicep. Because that's where the injury was. She said she would do her best. When I went in to have my MRI read by the orthopedic surgeon, he said the MRI wasn't good and even the report given by Prime states that it does not capture the rupture area "unfortunately, the scan does not cover the distal most insertion". Which is where the rupture occurred. I've been calling and leaving messages at both doctors offices and prime for 2 days trying to get them to re-do the MRi they messed up at no cost to me. i paid cash. Both doctors offices said that they had reached out to prime and not heard back. I spoke with the Prime scheduling department supervisor and the billing supervisor. They kept referring me back to the other departments. I have a short window to complete this surgery but Prime is not providing a good service. I may have to go elsewhere and pay out of pocket again. So frustraing!
