I just started a new job which is 2 minutes from Solly Pizza. So when I had a cheesesteak craving, I came on yelp to find out where I should get lunch. The reviews were spot on. Solly was good. I got the lunch special (cheesesteak with fries and a can soda for $13). In this economy, $13 for a full meal is hard to come by but MUCH APPRECIATED!! Everything was prepared the way I asked and it was ready in 15 minutes! Bread was soft and fresh, steak was plentiful but could have been seasoned more, and they didn't skimp on the cheese. My food was dirty, and with bone chips. I see Solly is a long-standing neighborhood fave, but sorry, my first time ever eating their food could've broken my teeth, maybe choked me; the more concerning thought now is wondering about what I could've already eaten without knowing it. Swallowing things like this could be dangerous and damaging, especially to those with certain health/digestive tract conditions. There are 9 inedible objects on the side of that plate, 8 are bone fragments, some of them really sharp, some attached to gristle, and one is a 3/4" or so piece of green plastic thread. Not pictured was also a rock-hard, tiny, black ball, maybe only 1-2 mm diameter, size of a mustard seed but not a mustard seed, not food, more like floor sweepings (forgot to mention I bit on some grit, too), but I lost it when it fell out of my napkin. This was from only 1/4 piece of the cheesesteak! It made me rethink ever getting a cheesesteak from anywhere again, but what's more likely is that it'll be a long time before the thought of a cheesesteak, from anywhere, will sound any good to me. This was the best cheese steak I've had in a very long time. Hands down! Super fresh but not chewy and they chopped the steak in with the cheese. Awesome! I liked the pizza but my husband wasn't a fan. What does he know anyway. Great meaty wings and they even gave me mostly flats like I asked for! I've been disabled since my car accident and I needed a place to order in from. I expected pretty crappy quality because that's what you get from northeast pizza shops. However, the 3 consecutive times that I have ordered they have made my food and delivered it in 25 min(2pm), 35 mind(5pm), and 40 minutes(8:30 pm). I am really impressed. I ordered through grubhub so the prices are different and little more expensive but the quality of the food I got was the best out of all the pizza shops in the northeast. I ordered 5 cheesesteaks in total with different toppings and ingredients on each one. Lettuce was fresh the bread was so fresh not hard at all. The meat was fresh. Still I was skeptical so I tested the chicken steak to see if the Chicken would come out dry, NOPE! Chicken steak was great too. I ordered a wrap and that came out great. Vanilla milkshake was $5 and it was a lot. Both of the Whiz cheese fries were filled with a large amount of cheese. The cheesy curly whiz fries didn't have as much cheese as the regular order but it was still great. This is definitely my go to pizza place shop! read more
