I was contracted for 6 month volunteer service. 3 months into the volunteer contract I had to leave due to safety issues with a male bully. The supervisor seemed indifferent. The bully in question was a big guy built massively but it wasn't his size he was aggressive! No social skills, manners Nothing. Unsure why he was there . All the clients personal back stories are confidential & knowing what I know about how Seattle coddles anti social types I feel that he was protected. Very unfair to me. I also feel that BB is somewhat racially biased towards women! Hey all I was trying to do is be productive, help others, get outside of myself b/c people I was struggling VERY BAD with a mother who was in a real bad marriage, and some other issues I don't feel comfortable sharing on here but I will say it involved people who didn't seem to understand boundaries. Was the adult day center a homeless center? At the time that I volunteered I didn't know what that mean't I just wanted to help people. I was quite young the year I volunteered even though I was an adult. But that place just didn't care about you. No positive communication just nothing. This was only for the adult day center & NOT the hospice which were housed in 2 separate areas of the bldg. Sure hope that they've improved. I did not feel comfortable volunteering at this adult day center. Poorly run & operated.

Staff is very…read moregood at making decisions that are arbitrary and prejudicial to anyone who has an opinion on the situation they find themselves thrust into. The only saving grace is that the food (which is also questionable at times), and the nursing staff, who are pretty awesome. Your caseworker, depending on who you're assigned to, are extremely hit or miss, with some of them refusing to even acknowledge the fact that you exist. The bathrooms are filthy, with some of them having shit stains on the walls from when I first arrived here. Although it shouldn't, the type of care varies from person to person, with situational ethics powering the decision making. That is to say, THERE ARE NO ACROSS THE BOARD RULES!!! Whites get treated differently from Blacks. Gays different from straights. Men versus women, trans from cisgender, and so on. The security is negligible considering the amount of different identities that inhabit this space, meaning the security follows the aforementioned arbitrary nature of rule enforcement. One guard in particular has a deep rooted and obvious hatred towards the gays who reside here, yet demands that they "respect" him. Also, this is a "low barrier" shelter. Meaning that drug use is pretty rampant here, with people getting high in the bathroom or elsewhere on the property. The bathrooms are where you can also hear people having sex at any time of day. Because of this, staff members are instructed to conduct "bathroom checks", an intrusive process that involves the monitoring of people's personal and hygienic habits that has caused more problems than solutions. Overall, the type of care you can expect to receive here varies wildly, and it would be well advised not to engage.

If anyone is donating here and are reading this, you have nothing to worry about. They provided food, a comfy chair, tv with every streaming platform and a headset. I will begin with the Receptionist Ria. She is so kind hearted, willing to listen and showed so much Empathy. She would always go Above and Beyond to help my Family when trying to contact my Aunt or her Nurse. The there is Faysal he is a RCM. He also provided Excellent Care and was always willing to help when asked. There are so many other CNAs, RNs, and RCMs that also provided exceptional care and showed compassion and empathy. It's hard placing a Loved one in a Facility let alone finding a Good one that you feel comfortable enough to leave them there hoping they will thrive and be taken care of properly with Care and Compassion and this Facility did just that. From my first appointment with Dr. Shaikh, I knew that I had made the right choice. I actually have never had a primary care doctor take that much time to have a conversation about my health on an individual level. I really liked the doctor I had before I came here, but it was a totally different approach and she retired. I'm very glad to have gotten a doctor at SMA. When I needed some help right away, I sent a message and heard back within less than hour and easily got a prescription filled right away. So far, I am very happy I made the choice. Well worth the small premium you pay for access to a higher level of care.

The professionalism and care at each therapy session was so individualized and thorough I felt my care was always of the utmost importance. The results of going to Wa physical therapy was nothing short of miraculous and I am so pleased that Joan restored my mobility and I don't have to have surgery. Mila in the office is very professional the communication and scheduling is quick and easy. And they accept Medicare. Things are just in such disrepair that he needs to call for assistance. The remote on his bed doesn't work. I just want them to fix their things, and answer The call buttons. I know patients abuse it, but in this case he got hurt because of the neglect.

They constantly ignore the call button and blatantly ignore the residents. They're on their phones constantly and have such an attitude! It was so heartbreaking when I overheard one of the nurses tell a plus sized patient that she is disgusting because of her size. On top of that she refused to help her get dressed because she could "do it herself". She had then apologized but only because I had informed one of the managers. It's sad to see almost all the residents being treated like they're animals. Tell me, would you feel comfortable seeing so many residents being yelled at and talked about as if they're not in the room? As if they aren't a human being? They place has now changed ceos or top managers I'm not sure, and I can tell they want the place to change for the better but like I have stated before, the nurses there do not care about the residents. I tried my best to help residents in any way I could even though it wasn't my job. Most of the residents would not receive their correct food which was such a big issue because of food allergies and difficulties with solid food. There has been many times where patients wouldn't get their food at all! And the nurses would refuse to get them what they asked or get their correct food. There needs to be more activities for residents who cannot attend in person groups! It's sad when I would walk by rooms and patients would be staring out the window because they were tired of watching tv all day. I can tell the activity department only liked the residents who were able to attend the group in person. There is so many residents who would complain to me about not being included! Lastly, I advise if you do send your loved ones here to keep in contact with them to find out what goes on. There has been so many times where staff just like to do whatever they want when visitors aren't around.
