I didn't think I would buy this beautifully refurbished bike that day, but after chatting with Cesar it became clear that doing business with him would be a very positive experience. I was right! He went out of his way to make sure the bike fit me perfectly by ordering additional parts to extend the head stem and raise the seat. He kept me informed about when it would be ready and went out of his way to earn my business. While his bike shop is not geographically convenient to me, after this experience, I would travel the extra mile(s) to San Anselmo to do business with Caesar again -- in a New York minute! (Plus there are beautiful bike trails in the area). The whole experience was A-1. Highly recommend this shop.

I had never been to Caesar's but decided to try it out since I was in a bit of a pinch. I arrived as the shop was opening, and Caesar graciously put my bike on his stand and fixed it as I waited. The repair included tapping a bolt hole I had damaged on the spider. I like establishing a relationship with a shop, and I used to go to Tony Tom at Bicycle Odyssey. Caesar's technical ability and friendliness really won me over as a customer and I'll take my bikes to him from now on.

And I'm on my way again. Not upselling, either - last time I was in for a new chain we talked about the wear and tear on my cassette, and the guy could have pushed me to replace it, but instead told me it was good enough and if the chain doesn't slip then I should think about replacing it at the next chain replacement or in another six months. Can't say enough nice things about these guys.

We checked out all their products and I like the extensive options for helmets, bikes, bibs, clothing, gear, parts and gels. We were tempted with some raincoats that were on sale and ended up holding on those for now. We discovered there was a seat area where you can measure the distance between your butt bones. That was cool to check out. This place was packed of people coming in and out so it seems to be a prime bike shop location.

I…read moregot a flat tire in San Rafael and was too far from home to repair it, and asked them it they could fix it. They were nice and agreed to repair it for a reasonable price. When I brought in the bike and offered to give them my name and pay in advance they refused to help me unless I gave them my telephone number. Those types of policies are outrageous and show a complete lack of understanding of business. Soon they will refuse to accept cash, if that policy has not rolled out already.... regardless, they are forgetting the basic facts about the world. Last year we tried to have a pedal repaired on a beach bike in Sausalito, and the poor fellow working at that location had to admit to us that he did not know how to repair one but would try. He was nice and we liked him, but it is sad that this firm does not sell basic tools and kits for tire repair. We did purchase their brand of inner tubes and those lasted 4 weeks before going flat. They were cheaply made and after this recent experience, we will simply avoid the place. As much as we love our bicycles, we get more help from the guys working at O'Reiley's autoparts in Marin City! Where the clerk came out and fixed a small problem on our old bike as a courtesy this week without charge. He did not ask us to show our papers and provide them with ID and phone numbers. We did fix the flat tire by walking one block to Walgreens where the nice people sold us everything we needed for a very low price. The people there are always very nice. Adios Mike's Bikes.

The shop owner, Lee, accepted our return with zero hassle, even though he had performed some customization of the bike for our son's needs. During COVID times, we also appreciate how Lee manages the flow of traffic in his shop, only allowing one customer in at a time. Over the last 10+ years, I have donated half a dozen bikes and purchased two very beautifully,…read morerefurbished bikes from here and if you don't know about it, this is 100% one of the best places to either find a great bicycle at a low price, a bicycle that someone is going to outgrow quickly, to get your bicycle serviced or for serious repairs, and for donating bicycles and bicycle parts that are still in good shape and deserve a second life. An absolute great cause. Tip: the street doesn't have parking on either side as it's a thoroughfare, so in my opinion The easiest way is to park in the parking lot underneath the freeway for me, and then to walk your bicycle to the corner crosswalk.
