This is one of my go-to places for lunch and (if I'm in the area during opening hours) sometimes for dinner too. The food is good and consistent; I usually get a sandwich (the deviled eggs one is my fave, though the bread seems a tad big) and a salad or soup on the side. The location is convenient to get to (walk, public transit, etc.) and it's close to Yerba Buena, which is a great park to eat in on nice days. Small warning: the line can get pretty long, especially during peak lunch hours, but I rarely find that I have to wait during dinners hours (I guess everyone just looks forward to going home after work lol). I'm not sure what the table situation is like though since I always make my orders to-go. Regardless of how busy they are, I always fine the staff friendly and helpful :) read more

SO MANY BEERS (and right across from my office!) I can't believe it took me so long to check this place out. I also can't believe I'm not here multiple times a week. Inside their shop, they have case after case of a huge range of beers as well as some on draft. You can take a beer out of the case and bring it home or they'll open it up for you there and you can drink it inside or out. While it does appear to get crowded at times, I've always been able to find a seat outside when I get out of work. Maybe not everyone has heard about it yet? I hope not. read more

Such a breath of fresh air! This side of Market doesn't have the best lunch options other than Uno Dos Tacos....but you can't be eating that every day! SOMA Eats is delicious, fresh, and I would say moderately healthy. Everything I've eaten here in the past week (yes, I've been three times already) has been great. The warm BLT with fried egg is awesome, and I loved the little chickpea salad that came with it. I also had a roasted tomato mascarpone soup that was awesome - nicely seasoned and a little spicy - as well as a great and very filling salad that came with a healthy serving of crostini. SOMA Eats has a HUGE beverage selection - both alcoholic and nonalcoholic. I'd love to try one of their many interesting and unique beers, but I'm always taking my food to go, to eat back at my desk (womp, womp). SOMA Eats also has a decently sized and well-curated selection of wine and liquor to purchase and take home with you. I think they may also have beers on tap. So, if you need to do double duty - like buy a beverage to bring home or over to a party while on your lunch break, this place is perfect! Last but not least - their coffee bar is nice, albeit a little expensive, and they have a wide array of fancy chocolate bars at the checkout area.....really great stuff, but WAY expensive. So far, I've gotten three co-workers hooked on this place. I'd definitely recommend this for lunch or dinner - and it's open from 7am-10pm, so you can have really any meal there (I really want to try the breakfast!). read more

Yuuuuuummmmmmm! Just get the salmon green goddess salad and a chocolate chip cookie. That's it! Portions are huge and prices are fair for the quality of food. They have a large selection of wine, liquor and beers too. Sort of like a coffee shop/eatery/wine bar of sorts. Great airy space with lots of tables including for groups/communal. The setup is casual but we had impeccable service. Will be back! read more

On a good week, I manage to pass by SOMA Eats 4 times. And that's only for lunch. And they're only open on weekdays (which is the norm in the areas bordering Fidi). What do I like about this place? - Delicious and filling salads - Check - Great sandwiches if you're not in the mood for a salad - Check (How can a turkey sandwich taste so good?) - Comfortable seating area to unwind during your lunch break - Check - Nice bar, with a good wine/beer selection to unwind after work - Check - Quick and consistent service, even when it's packed - Check - Breakfast sandwich that makes you want to get out of bed - Check - Great prices (especially for the quality/quantity of food you get) - Check The list goes on and on. Overall, SOMA Eats is my favorite spot to grab lunch during the week. Would strongly recommend you try the Spinach, Date & Goat Cheese Salad, the Turkey Meatloaf / Roasted Turkey sandwiches and the specials (Protein Bowl or Lamb Bowl, depending on the week). read more

Grabbed the Baked Salmon Green Goddess salad for a quick lunch on the go. Great portion size, great taste, will definitely be ordering again. Wow, this space is really nice and also pretty big! Ive passed by it a few times before I stopped in for lunch . I loved the interior immediately! Its fresh and clean! The menu has some really great options and they usually have a soup of the day + a special. I tried the BLT with an egg, minus the bacon. It was tasty and I loved that it came toasted! My friend got the special for the day which was a lamb couscous bowl, he loved it! I'd def come back! It's a great lunch option for the area and also want to stop by for a post work drink! read more

I've only ever been here to pick up MealPals, so I can't comment on anything else. The turkey meatloaf and the varied salads offered through MealPal are solid choices. The best part is that they don't skimp on you. Usually MealPals end up being less in quantity, but SOMA Eats gives your the regular portion size. Initially, I thought it would be strange to get the turkey meatloaf; however, it surprised me, because the meatloaf was really moist. read more

Another nice lunch stop in the Soma area. They definitely spend some money to make this look nice and trendy--which I would described as lots of wood and liquor bottles. Got the Greek salad, which was really good. If I was in the mood for something less healthy the pulled lamb sandwich looked pretty darn good. And the price was the usual $10 for this area of SF. read more

Solid salad option albeit a bit pricy. It's on par with Mixt Greens and such which offer salads at similar prices and definitely better than Foccacia. I ordered the Salmon Green Goddess Salad ($13 including tax). It was exceptionally filling and the salmon was super tender. The dressing is marketed as creamy basil but not heavy at all. If anything it added much needed acidity (tangy like thinned out buttermilk) to the rich fish. The salad also comes with carrots (not memorable), tomatoes (bright and sweet), and avocado (true creaminess right here). I'm not ready to spend $13 a day on salad but I would definitely order this again. Note there was a line when I arrived around 11:10am but I was ordered and out in less than 10 minutes read more

Nothing to hate, and everything to love. Unless you come during the lunch time rush, but everyone has lines, and they do their best. SOMA Eats has such great healthy options. I generally eat salad without dressing, and the ingredients here are healthy and fresh enough to make it yummy! My favorite is their pulled chicken -- it's cooked just right, and you can especially tell since there is no seasoning. The pickled vegetables and almonds give the salad some more flavor. Even though the ingredients are light, they fill up a huge bowl so you won't get hungry too quickly (hopefully). The prices are pretty on par with most salads in SF, I'd say. I have some allergies and usually make a lot of modifications to salad, and they were super accommodating and have always gotten my order right. I'm going to have to come back to try the sandwiches and wines! read more

I cannot say ENOUGH complimentary words about our experience at SOMA Eats with Fred, Oussama, and their team. Working with them for our reception was a delight - they made everything simple from start to finish which was most appreciated and not an easy task given that we're from out of town and were making arrangements in advance from across the country. In town for work, grateful I got to stay in SoMa and stumbled by this place after looking for a place for breakfast. I'd go here again because the food was at a good price point, but wouldn't go out of my way to start my day here. Ambiance: Eh...for the morning, nice for after work drinks. It's has an upscale happy hour ambiance even in the morning with the decor and lounge music playing (more appropriate for cocktails than a cup of steel cut oats), and a little too loud to have a morning conversation (or maybe I'm just getting old). Customer Service: Eh... the music was pumping with some good beats, But the staff have a tired energy. (I'm being critical, but it's okay for yelp, right?.) The woman at the register was noticeably uninterested, asked for my order, inputted my order, and walked to the side and started texting. Even small talk the length of an original tweet would have been nice. I'm regretting leaving a tip, enabling that behavior. (Oh well, too late.) The man making the food was working hard and focused. I thought he called my name for my food; it was hard to hear/understand him even though I'm 2-3 ft from the bar. I had to waive him down to confirm again. There weren't a lot of people in there so I expected the customer service to be a little better. Food: Good. They packaged my food to-go. The steal cut oats tasted good. The granola seems to have some brown sugar and coconut shreds that mix well with the blueberries and strawberries. The macchiato was on par with others that I've had. I thought that the food items were at a good price point, comparable to a Starbucks. read more

Solid new lunch place in my work neighborhood. The salads and sandwiches are a reasonable size but not huge, favoring quality over quantity. Averaging about $10 for a salad, I guess that's the new normal, but where this place really stands out is their ginormous drink selection. From bottled, possibly-real-sugar soda to fresh juices and kombucha, there is also an entire wall of bottled and canned beers, local and from far away, all looking delicious and definitely not for lunch. Hmm, maybe for lunch on a day off. Or a Friday. Or a special occaision? The food came fast and was delicious; I'm looking forward to meeting a friend here sometime to sit down and hang out for a bit. read more

Love this place! Discovered it recently. I had their lamb tagine special and was amazed. Lamb was very juicy and couscous was very flavorful too. The lines move quickly so don't be scared by the long lines. Their sandwiches and soup look great. I will come back again. Also, the ambience is pretty good. It's a bit loud during lunch times but that's what you get a popular lunch spot in SOMA. read more

I LOVE salads. A giant bowl of greens with all kinds of goodies is the way to my heart. SOMA eats is a keeper in my book. I was with a group of seven coworkers and for the most part the ordering process was seamless. I was surprised not to see a giant line when we arrived. WE must have beat the lunch rush. I tend to take forever to decide and often make a few adjustments to my order but not here! Thankfully there were plenty of trusted yelper recommendations. I ordered the salmon salad which came a delicious bunch of goodies: avocado, cherry tomatoes, shredded carrots, mixed greens, baby kale, romaine, and baked salmon with a goddess dressing. It was one the best salads I've had a while. It was fresh and crisp, the salmon was cooked just fine and the dressing wasn't overpowering. It was really quote perfect. This will be a regular stop for me on future visit to San Francisco. read more

Been here for lunch a few times, and even for SF I think the food here is on the pricier side. But the modern interior/decoration and the location makes it pretty clear that it's not a cheap place. But I'd say worth it for a deliciously healthy meal! Salads run around $15 with tip, and there is usually a long line of financial district workers getting their healthy lunch game on. The baked salmon salad though, is actually amazing. The salmon is juicy and extremely tender and it comes with a generous amount of diverse veggies on top that makes salad really tasty while keeping it seemingly healthy! You can ask for dressing on the side (they pour a lot of dressing on top otherwise for my taste) read more

Very busy during lunch and a bit loud if you want have a chat with someone. Definitely love their egg zartar BLT sandwich. Sometimes oozing with egg yolk and has a nicely toasted bread. Don't really like their pulled pork sandwich and still trying to find a second dish I like. I'm intrigued by their massive whiskey collection and haven't been in the evening. Seems out of place, but it looks great! read more

Date of visit: Jan 23, 2015 I picked this place because of the Yelp reviews and the location close to my husband's work place. This place is hip. I think it is more like a bar but they try to multipurpose and serve the lunch crowd too. When we get there, it was packed with people, YOUNG people. We were lucky to find couple seats at the bar. Service was prompt. The menu selection is sparse but enough to pick something great. I had the pulled pork sandwich, very yummy, and no gooey BBQ sauce oozing out, it was clean, meaty, and I would order again. My husband had the BLT, and he is a picky BLT eater. But this one met his expectation. So overall, it is worthy of a return trip. read more

Walk-in lunch for 2 Friday before a Giants game. 2 minute walk from Marriott Courtyard. Tremendous selection of Northern CA wines and beers with your meal or for take-out. Modern, open, light ambiance - easy conversation labels. Combination of tables and a long bar for food and drink. I had the pulled pork (large portion, great flavor, could have used a bit more sauce on the side) and my wife had a huge salmon salad. Both dishes really hit-the-spot, were well plated and tasted great. read more

Soma eats is one of my favorite lunch spots when in Fidi. Their Cobb and combo salad is extremely clean with tons of toppings that are not only Healthy but extremely tasty. It gets a little too busy sometimes but for the most part the service is very cordial. I would recommend this spot for any lunch meetings and dine ins for catch up sessions. The decor and layout is wonderful too! read more

Stopped here for breakfast this morning on my way to work to get a breakfast sandwich to go. There was barely a line at 8:45 AM on a Tuesday, which was a plus. The ambiance of the place is really nice - the theme is wood + teal with a bar area, some tables and a lot of open space. There's a fully loaded bar along with breakfast + salad/lunch options. I got the breakfast sandwich, which was scrambled eggs, bacon, and cheese on a ciabatta roll for $6.50 without tax. The ciabatta roll was nicely toasted, and flavorful, and the eggs weren't dry or crumbly either. I would have expected more bacon for the price, but the bacon was nicely seasoned with a maple flavor. A bit pricey for the amount of food you're getting (it's a pretty thinly packed sandwich) but good flavor overall. read more

SOMA Eats definitely has one of the best salads in this area. I keep coming back here for the New Greek Salad or the Baked Salmon Salad. If you hate salads, eating one of these salads might change your mind about how delicious they can be. The New Greek Salad has chicken, avocado, sun dried tomato, mixed greens, garbanzo beans and this Greek yogurt dressing. I don't know who created this but everything just blends so well together, so props to the chef! All the ingredients have a unique flavor like the garbanzo beans which taste like they're Indian inspired. The yogurt dressing is creamy but I don't feel guilty after eating it. The sun dried tomatoes can be a little overwhelming so I would suggest trying it before mixing it all together. The Salmon Salad is similar to the New Greek Salad but it has a basil dressing, salmon, and a few different veggies. The Salmon is always fresh and the salad has tons of flavor that I forget I'm eating a salad! This place gets PACKED during lunch so I usually just pick up. They have mealpal deals so that definitely saves some money! read more

This place is brand new, but I already love it. The ambiance is great and so is the food. I had the lamb shoulder & date sandwich with a chickpea salad. It was amazingly flavorful and I will be going back. Can't forget their stellar alcohol collection. Next time we have visitors in the office I will be taking them here. read more

I haven't reviewed SOMA Eats? I think I've been here about thirty times, and we order in a bunch at work. The salmon salad is great and for $12 isn't bad for the area. The venue itself is pretty big, and has a bunch of seating. It's actually an okay place for sit-down lunches (provided you can find seating). read more

I usually come here for happy hour but this was the first time I came here for lunch. They have a good selection of healthy options all roughly around $10. I got the baked salmon green goddess salad and it was great! Super filling (you wouldn't expect that from a salad) and the salmon was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Plus, it already comes with avocado. I also ordered ahead online for pick up - now I'm not tech savvy but even I figured it out and it's super user friendly. And it also wasn't jam packed like some of the other lunch spots in the area. Looking at their menu they also have some really yummy breakfast options, so I'll have to try that next time. If you're also wondering about happy hour, I highly recommend their sour beer. They have an impressive selection of unique beers and drinks, so go crazy and give them all a try (I haven't quite gotten THAT far yet). Edit: to add to that I just had their smoked salmon breakfast sandwich and it was delicious! Even better than their salmon salad. Breakfast, lunch and happy hour? I could live here read more

Ambience is great, crazy lunch rush but beautiful and spacious for dinner. Unfortunately on my first Friday night here they said they were gonna close at 8pm instead of their usual 10pm. ---- FOOD ---- Jerk Chicken Salad Sandwich: 3.5 stars Really yummy for a chicken salad sandwich, but it's just that. A white bread sandwich with real (and spicy) chicken in it. New Greek Salad: 4 stars Nice hefty bowl of salad and chicken portions for $11, which is average for this area. read more

Found this place while in SF for a conference in the area. After a few days of re-made sandwiches at the conference,m I was craving a good salad and thus how I found myself at SOMA eats. The atmosphere is great. You can order food, and then grab a bottle of wine/ a beer, a kombucha, etc. to go with your meal which was pretty cool. Lots of options. I had the cranberry, walnut and goat cheese salad and it was just what I was looking for. My friend had a sandwich which looked a little dry so I would recommend to go with one of the salads. read more

I finally returned again recently and tried the Giants sandwich (turkey, cheddar, thick cut bacon, avocado) and Goodfellas (salami, mild coppa, prosciutto, provolone, pesto sauce). The Goodfellas was a bit too salty with the meats + pesto sauce. I think more lettuce/tomatoes/red onions and slightly less meats would've helped balance it out better. I had requested extra red onions, but it looked like the same amount as the other sandwich we got with no extra onions. Also was not a big fan of their pesto. We both preferred the Giants, which was relatively more balanced, but it was still not a very exciting sandwich. The primary flavor was salt, with only a few bites of sourness from the pickles, yet it also gave the overall impression of blandness. The house garlicky mayo didn't have any noticeable garlicky-ness. I also couldn't taste any of the brown mustard or house vinaigrette. The Dutch crunch bread was quite dry and both thin and dense. It looked so good in the pics since it's so stacked with colorful ingredients, but it did not pull through in terms of flavor. Halfway through I was just eating it to fill my belly with sustenance rather than enjoying it (though I didn't hate it either). Prices still seem pretty reasonable for the portion size; that would probably be the main draw for me if I ever return again. Maybe I will give the November sandwich one more shot next time.

SOMA Eats is an SSS (soup/sandwich/salad, as a fellow yelper has dubbed it) establishment in...you guessed it...SOMA. Its a big, airy space that has been recently renovated and just smells of boojey SF. If the refrigerators-filled-with-craft-beers-with-no-price-tags lined-walls weren't proof enough, the faux industrial decor and iPad cash registers are a dead giveaway. Come around lunchtime to see all of the usual SOMA/FiDi working crowd getting there lunch on out of the office. In spite of the air of pretense described above, SOMA Eats gets a solid four stars out of me for its excellent lunch options. My go-to is their salmon salad, its basically a garden salad along with a fistful of baked salmon. They also have an excellent meatloaf sandwich. Protip: if you're just grabbing something to-go, there's a separate cash register along the back wall for takeout orders that moves much quicker than the main one in front. read more

I love the green goddess salad here. It's way cheaper than the one from Sweet Greens and instead of steelhead its actually real salmon! (Which is more expensive) The wait times are also significantly shorter if you choose the grab and go option. Love this place for a quick lunch close to the workplace. read more

Decent sandwiches for the price but not anything special. The evening dinner menu is also a lot more expensive than the lunch menu even though the sandwiches are smaller, so definitely try to go early. I had the lamb sandwich which was nicely seasoned but the bread did not taste very fresh. read more
