I'm occasionally in downtown SF for work, so I'm on the lookout for good lunch spots. A coworker suggested Mixiote, which I was down to try. I ordered the chicken and rice bowl - the service was fast, the bowl looked great, the amount of chicken was generous, and the price was awesome. The free chips and salsa was a great bonus. This would be 5 stars if there was an option for chicken breast + an option for spicier. I'll probably be back - and I'll order with avocado next time!

This is the perfect spot for lunch! The Mixiote bowls are absolutely incredible, and I can't get enough of their beet quinoa salad--pair it with any of the chicken, pork, or rajas con queso for a winning combination. This isn't your typical Mexican restaurant. The flavors are spot on, and their healthier options will leave you satisfied without that post-lunch slump.

got a bowl with half chicken / pork, half quinoa / veggie noodles. simple menu, small pristine store, serving health fresh ingredients. I appreciated being able to mix and match.

Office days and rain don't always mix. Sometimes you need a quick lunch option while trying to stay dry, and that's how I ended up trying Mixiote. The menu is pretty straight forward, bowls, salads, nachos with your choice of meat and toppings. As a lover of all things rice, of course I went the the bowl. I went with the chicken which is made with thigh meat and cooked in a sauce so it wasn't dry which is always a plus. I dunno if this was healthy or healthy adjacent but judging from all the veggies and bright colors, I'm just gonna tell myself it is. Either way, it was a big enough portion for a normal appetite. The bowl price starts at $13.50 and with guac and other additional premium toppings it came out to just over $17 before tip. The chips they gave with the order were fresh, crunchy and really tasty. They had an orange salsa that was habanero, good amount of spice but not too crazy. If you can't handle spice, this one will prolly be too hot. Solid option for a quick and tasty meal near salesforce tower area

This place is nothing like chipotle, I love everything that comes in the bowl! The staff are super friendly and you can ask for a sample! Highly recommend this place!

A new food counter, well hidden in the back corner of the Salesforce lobby. So hard to stumble on randomly and even a little hard to find if you are actually looking for it. A bit Chitpole-esqe in that you choose your protein and choose your carbs. But much tasiter than Chiptole! Pork & Chicken Rice Bowl: I actually asked for a half-n-half mix of pork and chicken so I could try them both. I really liked the smoky red pepper sauce on the chicken. The green pepper sauce on the pork seemed a little more subtle and also the amount of sauce seemed less too. But both meats came in a good portion. The only surprising thing is that neither meat seemed particularly slowed cooked. The meat on their website looks more stewed. But still very tasty. Especially with all those nice veggies on top of that turmeric rice.

Lovely food, healthy and tasty - and so accommodating for vegans. They switched out pesto with cheese for avocado, black beans and spicy habanero and gave me a discount for the avocado by not charging me for it. Chips free. And such kind service staff. Special shoutout to Arturo at the counter for remembering my vegan needs as a repeat customer. Thank you!

The atmosphere really stands out, with a cool 50s theme that makes the whole experience feel unique and memorable. The burger was the highlight of the meal--juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. It's exactly what you'd hope for from a place like this. The fries were decent, but nothing special--good enough, just not as standout as the burger. The cheese sticks were tasty and cooked well, but at around $18, they felt a bit overpriced for what you get. The restaurant was clean, and the staff were friendly and kept things moving smoothly. Overall, it's a great place to visit for the experience, solid food, and fun atmosphere. Not perfect across the board, but definitely a spot I'd recommend checking out at least once if you're in San Francisco.

There was only one server and the place started to get pretty packed so that's the good news. Also, forgot how nostalgic it is at a diner and one that still has a juke box. That's actually how you pick up your order ahead since they no longer use the shelf that's there and keep everything behind the counter. Overall, it's not too bad for picking up lunch, though the area isn't great so I wouldn't eat here in person.

I also ordered another soft flour tortilla on the side ($0.50 extra) and added black beans, fresh tomato salsa, and roasted chili-corn salsa on the side, bringing the total to $4.85. I opened the extra soft flour tortilla and added the black beans, fresh tomato salsa, and roasted chili-corn salsa, then placed the steak taco with the fajita veggies and cheese on top. It ended up looking and eating more like a mini steak burrito, which was a very good value for the price. Unfortunately, the steak was too fatty, rubbery, and difficult to chew. I was expecting leaner pieces of steak. I also found the fajita veggies to be extremely salty. In fact, I had to drink three cups of water after finishing my meal because of the saltiness. I've eaten at multiple Chipotle locations, and I've noticed the fajita veggies are consistently very salty. I think Chipotle could easily cut the amount of salt in half without affecting the flavor. Next time, I won't order the steak again because of the fatty, tough meat. Overall, for $4.85, turning a taco into what felt like a mini burrito was still a very good value.

The wait itself was frustrating, but the real issue was the woman taking orders. She genuinely didn't care. I understand burnout - I worked in the food industry, so I get how exhausting customer facing jobs can be. But it was NOT busy. She was not overwhelmed with customers or orders. She was just standing there on her phone, completely disengaged. At one point she put her headphones in and was talking on them while people in the kitchen were making orders. There were at least 4 orders sitting on the counter behind her, and she never checked once. There were only 2 of us and one other customer standing there waiting, clearly confused, for over 30 minutes. She even started getting ready to leave as if it was totally normal that people were still standing there waiting for food. No communication. No checking. No sense of responsibility. You could tell the kitchen staff was annoyed too because she was doing absolutely nothing. When we finally asked for a refund, she offered a whole pizza instead. For what? To wait another 30+ minutes? With conference traffic from Moscone Center and movie nights this place could be making money, but somehow it takes over 30 min for a mini pizza with 0 customer awareness. Never again.
