What a cute little bakery! It has been around for years (like close to 100!) and you can tell they have perfected everything! Huge selection, though they don't sell bread on Sundays or Mondays, which is of course when I was there. Different selection every day, Saturdays seemed to have the most and best options, mental note to return then. Service was super sweet and very patient. Trying to pace myself from getting one of everything, I kept it simple with 2 cupcakes, and they were huge at #3.95 each and oh so tasty! The salted caramel almond such a great batter and frosting, not a fan of the salty taste though. The smores also great, loved the marshmallow filling, all around tasty. Some Crust Bakery is probably the best bakery in the Inland Empire. It's located in Claremont and you should come here to try their amazing cookies. Their cookies are soft, chewy, and flavorful. You could get them alone or in sandwiches that are filled with creme. What I had was a sandwich with hazelnut chocolate cream that was used to glue together two snickerdoodles. They have a variety of creative cupcake flavors and I was very tempted to try them, but I didn't. Other than the cookie, I ordered a cinnamon bun and a sticky bun. The buns are just okay, but you can't go wrong with the cookies. Some Crust Bakery has been around since 1916 and it is a nice bakery in old-town Claremont. Being an old-school bakery, it has a very cool look/feel. If you are in the inland empire and you want some great sweets, definitely check this place out. read more

Me and my fiancé are getting married next year and we're making a deposit at the venue and wanted to check out this place as it was close by to try some pastries for our wedding. I am so happy we did because everything was delicious. We walked into one of the doors and saw that they had coffee and the cashier helping us was extremely kind and even complimented everyone that came in and complimented my tattoo. Me and him got the iced mocha and I got an iced vanilla latte and it was exactly what we needed as we had a busy morning. We then went to the doors where the pastry cases were and got 4 things to try out: lemon bar, coffee cake muffin, s'mores cupcake and a raspberry cheesecake cupcake. This place has been on my bookmark for a very long time. Lately all I want to do is go in search for new foodie and new places and this time it lead me to here. I found out my bestie was going to be in Claremont for a tournament and I thought it was would be a perfect time to visit her and hit up this spot. I love the location of this place it wasn't too far from the 10 fwy and was surrounded by a lot of other cute shops. I ended up getting front row parking and it was FREE parking. Always a plus! I went into the shop, I founded out that there is two door. A coffee/pick up my sandwich door and the other door with all the sweet goodies. It wasn't too big but was full of so many choices for treats. There was cupcakes, cookies, bear claw, fresh bread, cakes, muffins, and much more. I was really here for two things. Their egg sliders and their cupcakes. Their egg sliders were a perfect morning breakfast. It was custom made and not greasy like other breakfast sandwiches. I ended up having it on a sourdough with spinach, mushroom, and a sausage patty with pesto as my choice of sauce. This sandwich was yummy and I believe a prefect little size. Almost the same size as you would get at McDonald breakfast sandwiches. Next, I got a salted cupcake. I didn't eat this till I got home and I have to say the cupcake was very fluffy and moist. I really like their cupcakes a lot. I also tried their mocha cookie. It was a good cookies not bad, but I prefer my cupcakes over cookies any day. Overall, everything was delicious. If you're in Claremont you need to check them out. You'll find something your sweet tooth is craving for. Only reason why the four stars...I thought service could have been a little bit better. Kind of torn about this place. They have some really great stuff but couple of bad ones as well. I really like their raspberry lime cheesecake cupcake and their cinnamon chip mocha cookie but everything else was about average or bad. I didn't care for most of their other cookies which were rather dry and stale. The blueberry cream cheese danish was ok but nothing mind blowing. I'll still give them four stars only because I like their raspberry lime cheesecake so much that I keep coming back just for that. Their cupcakes are refrigerated so I recommend letting them sit at room temperature for about half hour before eating them. There are two entrances to this place. One is for the cafe and the other is for the bakery. I usually enter from the bakery side but I entered through the wrong door the other day and thought the place changed everything around. I've been buying from Some Crust for little over a decade. Unfortunately, the quality simply isn't there anymore. I recently bought cupcakes and cookies and was pretty disappointed. The ganache top of the cupcakes were delicious but the cake was rather dry even with the buttercream center present. A premium cupcake should be moist not dry. Besides the ganache top, It was pretty much the same quality as that of a supermarket cupcake that you would get at Albertsons. The cookies seemed like day-olds, too. I went in the late morning so that shouldn't be the case. Very dry. No chew. I remember when Some Crust cookies were the best. They would have a slight crunchy Maillard crust and a chewy center with a high quality buttery flavor. While the flavor of the ingredients still comes through, now its just a dry and disappointing and the overall experience is lacking. I got the oatmeal raisin, dark chocolate chip, their Oreo cookie sandwich (two chocolate cookies with a buttercream center). A good oatmeal raisin cookie should be soft and chewy, but these were the hardest and driest out of the bunch. I don't know what's going on. There's still a line of people waiting everyday to buy their baked goods. Maybe this was a fluke? But this was the second time this has happened. I hate to say it, but I am probably going to find alternative to what I once considered the best bakery in California. read more

(usually takes 30 mins to prepare) They can tell you how long it will take to make them. You fill out little slips of paper to order them and they leave them on the counter when they're ready. There is very little seating but if you can snag a table outside it's awesome. We go with our friend's dog a lot. Exterior = 5/5 You can find this bakery nestled in between stores along Yale Avenue. Parking can be found in spots directly in front or in a parking areas around the location (on the weekends I like to go to the spots behind the bank). It's pretty bustling, with a nice old downtown kind of feel. Interior = 5/5 So to note, there are two doors to get into Some Crust but they don't lead to one location. The left door is the coffee, sliders, breakfast, and other food items. The right door is more with their pastries like cakes, cupcakes, and cookies and bakery items. I usually take the left door and they let me order some of their smaller pastry items there too with my slider order. There is seating in the food area, bit standing room only in the bakery area so keep that in mind if you want to eat inside (aside from the seating outside which is like a couple tables). Service = 5/5 They are always super pleasant here and cheery. Service can be slow but that's because they are super busy with orders on both sides of the location. I usually like to call in my egg slider orders since that what I like to come for mainly (the pastries and the coffee are good too). Order = 5/5 Egg slider: 5/5: so you totally have to grab one of these. It's great because you grab a form and you can build your own which I love. I like to get the rosemary french, white cheddar, red onions, sausage, avocado, and garlic aioli (not listed but still there - thank goodness!). YUM is all I can say. They fill you right up as well so don't let the slider side deceive you. Just one with a coffee and cookie is all I need. Coffee: 5/5: I get the vanilla latte with half and half. Just so yummy and creamy. Pairs perfect with my sausage egg slider. That's all I can really say about this. Pastries: 5/5: I got the Bailey's cookie and it was chewy because of the caramel and then broke apart because of the cookie. It's was just a nice treat. I also grabbed the blueberry cheese danish and it was not too sweet so I was thankful because it made it so easy to eat and I didn't feel guilty after. Overall = 5/5 This is my go to place for egg sliders and just a yummy breakfast in general (though it really can be a snack for any time). The price is pretty reasonable for the quality they offer, so worth it! I would recommend calling in for the egg sliders since it takes time for them to make and you avoid waiting in line to order them. I hear you can also order their pastries online as well so take advantage of that! Grab the food then enjoy the scenery of Claremont. Hint = order ahead via phone, thank me later. WOW this place is definitely somewhere to go for desserts! My mom brought me here because she grew up going to this specific bakery. The fact that it is still in business for all these years intrigued me to go inside. The place is really small and when I went it was really crowded. Unfortunately we came later in the day so there were a lot of things sold out. We got the dark chocolate chip cookie, milk chocolate chip cookie and almond thumbprint. They had daily breads and we wanted to get the jalapeno cheese bread but they sold out. The service was great. One worker takes a party and gets everything we order. They also have conversations with you which made the experience less stressful trying to figure out what I wanted. Their cookies are so soft and the chocolate chip cookies were quite big. I'm a little late with this review..: I went to this bakery because of its great reviews and prices for my engagement cake. Everyone here is very easy to work with and veryyy accommodating to all needs. The designers are absolutely fantastic. I was literally blown away by the design. It completely surpassed all my expectations, and I'm still in disbelief at how beautiful the cake turned out. So the con to this cake: I had a dietary restriction to the cake and had requested to make it vegan. I've had many vegan cakes before and all have been moist and soft and wonderful. However, this cake came out like a rock. I was surprised because I've never had this problem before. Ever. The cake was impossible to cut and pretty much inedible :( So even though it was beautiful to look at, almost all of it got thrown away because no one touched it. It was such a waste. I'm not sure why it came out like this, but next time I'm going to stick with the same bakery that has been making our vegan cakes forever. read more

I do understand a staff shortage however, some of these employees need to realize that a lot of us have been coming here for years and the lack of customer service towards people like us who are excited to pick up their daughters annual birthday cake, don't deserve to be talked to in such a snappy manner. I came by here last Friday after 2:45 pm and there were only a few people ahead of me in line and also still plenty of baked goods to choose from. This was my 1st time coming here and I didn't know what to get. I told the girl who was helping me and asked her what were they known for or what was a few items that are purchased often. She suggested the bear claws and their mocha cookie. I am not big on mocha flavored anything to be honest so I went with the bear claws. I also picked up some whoopie pies, a ginger cookie and a pumpkin spiced cookie. This is what I thought of the these items: Bear Claw- ($3 each) This was different from the normal bear claws that I have had at other bakeries, in that it was made with an almond cream and slivered almond nuts. I was expecting cinnamon flavored since all the other bear claws I have had were of that flavor. But this was a nice change but felt this was a bit too dense and really made me feel quite full for many hours after consuming. Whoopie Pie- ($2.10 each) These whoopie pies I purchased had a a tropical flavor and unfortunately I had forgotten what flavor they were. The girl who was helping me had warned me that these were very sweet. But I actually liked it and though the frosted filling went well with the actually cake like cookie part. But my husband and I both thought there was just a bit too much frosting. I still ate the frosting (yep all of it) but my husband scraped off most of it. Ginger Cookie- ($1.60 each) This cookie was pretty big and had a nice strong ground ginger taste. I was really expecting this to be more of a gingerbread though. But the texture and moistness was great for a nice chewy soft cookie. Pumpkin Spiced Cookie- ($1.80 each) I was rather disappointed with this cookie as it really did not wow me. I was expecting more of a stronger sweeter pumpkin flavor but felt it was too subtle. But it was a soft and easy to chew cookie. Overall, this place really did not wow me and is just a- okay (thus the 3 star rating). I really was expecting more, especially since the overall rating of this place (at the time of this review) is 4 stars (out of 478 reviews... again, at the time of this rating). I wouldn't make a special trip to come back out here just to visit this bakery but would consider stopping by if I was in the area to see if I could try something else (but I would most likely pass though). By the way, there is a $5 minimum if you want to use credit card (which really isn't that hard to reach). There no indoor seating where I ordered my baked items (This place is actually pretty small) but some tiny tables w/ some chairs outside. Parking is only street parking. This place is also located right next to a hair salon place and also located towards the end of Yale Ave (closer to 1st street) in case you are looking for this place. read more

It took me a while to jump on the Some Crust bandwagon. Now I'm in the front seat riding shotgun. I get excited for early morning meetings because that means maybe I can skip breakfast at home and pick up a slider on the way to the office. I go French roll, egg, cheddar, provolone, bacon and aioli on the side. Their pesto and jams are great sides as well. When it's available- the chili and cheese croissant is pretty special and filling. I also enjoy their almond croissant - it's not a French style croissant - (if you're looking for that- go to crème--sooo good) but it's huge and has great almond flavor and is a tasty sweet treat. We also used some crust for our kids birthday cakes. Easy process, super nice, friendly and helpful workers and the cakes were both adorable and delicious. read more

Our wedding venue has a contract with Some Crust and they were absolutely amazing to work with. I have allergies and they were plenty accommodating at our tasting. Our rep met us and took us to their tasting office which was across the way. I appreciated the quiet area to sample the cakes without the rush of how busy the main bakery was. Some Crust was kind enough to make a separate small vegan cake for me because of my allergies. We ordered a 4 tiered cake and I tried to keep the vegan cake to myself but everyone said it was so good. I gave them a picture of what I had in mind for the design and they went above and beyond.
