Someburros - Busted burrito - Mexican Near Me - Scottsdale, Arizona

Well I'm really trying to support local restaurants during this pandemic. Your food is always great, butWaiting in a 40 minute Line in the drive-through to pick up an order that I placed i60 minutes ago is absurd. Now let me go home and fire up my oven and heat all of This food up. On top of the Drive-through maybe you need to open your door for one person at a timeAnd relieve this bottleneck. read more

This is one of my favorite places I come here all the time and the food is always amazing. I ordered a bean burrito on door dash and paid for extra cheese and there was no cheese and the beans were hard and dried and not refried. When I ordered again the exact same thing I called and asked to make sure this would not happen again and that it would be a normal burrito as it usually is. I also asked them to put chips in the bag. They put no chips in the bag and the burrito contained No cheese even though I paid for extra cheese and the beans were again hard and dry. Will not be ordering again. read more

Here is now this started....I was in college and took a road trip to AZ. One of my buddies recommended SomeBurros and said it would blow my mind. Being from So Cal I brushed it off because no one knew about Mexican food like an Angelino. Found a Some Burros and had the highly recommended Pollo Fundito. That is how I first got addicted. Ever since then, every chance that I get to come to Phoenix, I immediately take just so that I can plunder which ever Some Burros location I happen to be near. So here is my review of the Scottsdale location: Friendly Staff Great Margaritas My kids devoured two portions of beans each!! So Amazing refried beans. As always, the Pollo Fundito did not disappoint!! To the ownership, thank you for this amazing restaurant! Keep up the good work! Sincerely, A life long fan! read more

We get their breakfast burritos a few times a week. They are extremely crave-able. The tortillas are delicious & their salsa is just the right flavor and heat. My husband loves the carne asada, potatoes and veggies. My go to is double eggs, potatoes and veggies. They hit the spot for his meat loving needs and my no Meat loving heart. Call ahead and go to their little drive thru. Super convenient & easy. They even have monster 32 Oz. Margaritas to go. And well, everyone loves that. read more

The service was ok the beans were burnt or scorched the green sauce looks yellow n wasn't spicy the order was wrong the server Jason was new n nice bless his heart but never again read more

This place is always friendly. I get top notch service no matter how busy they are and get my food in a timely manner. The restaurants clean and the ingredients are fresh. Always an option for me whenever I'm looking for a place to eat. read more

This place was very family-friendly, the staff was extremely courteous and hospitable, and the food was delicious. I will go back.

We love someburros and this is the location we visit the most. Last night we went there with a friend in from Georgia. Good was great, as always. Unfortunately they had a band playing in the restaurant that made it impossible to speak without shouting. The musicians were great but this is not the venue for a jazz band. I mentioned to the staff that we couldn't even hear each other at our table ans asked if they coukd lower the volume. the answer was " he's a regular so we are letting him do this". We are regulars too and will be checking if there will be a concert before we ever go again! I think the most disturbing part was the saxophone being played in the small area. Doesn't seem to covid appropriate as there is plenty of research stating wood wind instruments can spray an aerosol and spread the virus. Never thought I would ever have a bad review of Someburros but someone needs to rethink this nonsense. read more

I have enjoyed the food in the past, but recently I have notice that you guys are serving less portion as before. Your prices were fair to the portions you were serving! Now I feel a little cheated. Good food always!!! read more

I've been eating at the various Somburros locations for many years. My go-to items are the shredded chicken tacos and the shredded beef burro. The tacos are a great deal on Tuesdays for $2 a taco and the burros are reasonably priced as well. The chips and salsa are free and they'll give you more if you ask. Tip: smother everything in the somewhat spicy salsa. read more

Someburros - Free chips and salsa, yum - Mexican Near Me - Scottsdale, Arizona

Had the Poncho Villa. $1o and change. Don't understand why they don't offer rice or beans with it on the plate. How much does it cost them to include...25 cents? It looked good. The sauce was very dry , not with heat. Couldn't out my finger on it. Anyone know what ground chiles they use in red chili beef? I probably won't be back. Very nice atmosphere and beautiful counter for ordering. . read more

We love Someburros. Consistently great food and service. Love that we can call it in and drive through to pick up. They have the best bean burros around. All the food is great and the employees are always super friendly. read more

This is my favorite place to get takeout. The employees seem to take Covid precautions seriously plus the food is awesome. The salsa is amazing. I love the pollo fundido and the open face cheese quesadilla. The staff is always friendly. The cashier, Luke, was very attentive and the manager on duty, Anna, was very sweet. read more

My family has been dinning at Somburros for the last couple of years and love it! We find the food tasty and consistent and the service is speedy and friendly, though it seems to have gotten even better recently. My favorite food is the bacon breakfast burrito! I look forward to my Saturday breakfast pick up! read more

Stopped in after shopping at Trader Joe's for a quick snack and had an outstanding experience! My daughter and I shared 2 shredded beef tacos, rice, and beans. The manager asked the kitchen to split it for us and we couldn't have been happier. The taco was delicious and we both got a very generous portion of rice and beans. The lettuce and tomato were fresh as was the homemade salsa. We can't wait to go back! Gracias, Someburro! read more

By far the best "fast food" Mexican restaurant you can find in the valley. The food is always fresh, and the staff is extremely friendly. I'd highly recommend! read more

We were in last Friday night- the customer service was amazing. Normally we go to the one by Sam Tan Mall. But after visiting Queen Creek one- we will be back to this one for sure. With the drive for the amazing friendly customer Service. I think the managers name was Taylor- she runs a smooth ship- and everyone looks like the enjoy working there. And our order came out correct- we will be back for sure! read more

Meh, I hate writing reviews like this, especially cause the cashier was so nice. The food just wasn't very good. I had the pollo fundido and horchata. The chicken was dry and the horchata didn't taste right. read more

My husband and I eat at the Scottsdale Some Burros usually once per week and love it! We used them to cater our daughters baby shower this weekend and not surprising, food was delicious. Everyone kept commenting on how great the food was. Since great food wasn't a surprise for us what meant a lot when all that goes into planning a party was the service from the staff at the Scottsdale location. Everything was ready on time, they went thru every item to ensure it was all there, provided all the catering items for set up and the quality was awesome (nothing chintzy), and finally everything was hot so setting it up at home with the burners we were able to eat immediately. Everything was so good. My husband and I tend to get the same things when we go because we love them so much but now there are new things to try. We would recommend Some burros to anyone and everyone. read more

Bean and cheese burrito is amazing! I've also had the taco salad and it's huge! Someburros is my go to authentic Mexican restaurant! I call ahead of time because it could take 10 min to make fresh. I only have a half hour for lunch so I can't waste time. read more

Nice service but very mediocre food at best. Generous portions for reasonable price but no real flavor. Salty but no spice or anything memorable. read more

First time here. Got a Carne asada burrito, chicken burrito and a cheese quesadilla. The Carne asada burritos was acceptable, has some fresh guac and pico. The quesadilla was fine, but just cheese and a tortilla, very difficult to mess up. The chicken burrito was literally just flavorless chicken, not another ingredient. Nothing here was nasty, just many more better, local options for sure. read more

Service horrible I love this place but the gal at the register is rude should probably not be dealing with customers

It's good, but it's not quite great. The two times that I have been have filling and the service is fast but idk, I feel like it's lacking something. I suggest asking for the salsa verde for your chips, that has been the best part of both my meals here. read more

Man I don't understand why good breakfast burritos are hard to come by. My fiancé loves them and likes to order them pre cardinals game on Sunday's. Went today to pick some up and the woman said it would be 15 minutes to make them. That's hopeful because you think they're taking the time and effort to prepare a really delicious product. That was not the case. I really really love bacon, but I really really do not like mixing bacon with other things. Weird I know, but I just find the flavor to be overpowering when mixed with other ingredients. So my burrito was supposed to only have beans, eggs, cheese, potato and guacamole. My fiancé got one with bacon added and no guacamole. The labels on the burritos were confusing because both said bacon on them but when we checked the receipt it had the order correct on there. I take one bite, pure bacon. My fiancé said his so far had no bacon so maybe they just messed up the packaging so we switch burritos. Half way through the one I'm eating with no guacamole in sight; all of the sudden there is some sausage in mine. Which neither of us had ordered in our burritos. And then, alas! Guacamole appears halfway through my fiancé's burrito. At that point though his burrito was a mess and we weren't switching back, especially since it was loaded with bacon. Frustrating all around, because if you're going to take 15 mins to make a burrito you would hope it's made well. And you would hope the ingredients would be throughly spread throughout the burrito so you're not getting surprises halfway in. So now I'm hangry AND I have to watch the Cardinals game too. Thanks Someburros. read more

Poor service. Took 15 min to get a take out order. Will never go back. They didn't even care about their customers.

I like the idea of a walk-up Mexican food restaurant that otherwise operates as a restaurant, so they get high marks for conceptual design and good service. However, the rest is up to taste and, after three visits to Someburros, everything has tasted mediocre. It's a bit surprising, because I didn't think Mexican food could ever be bland. They need to add spices to give it some kick. Sadly, I won't be around to ever find out because I'm taking my appetite for good Mexican food elsewhere. read more

I was very pleasantly surprised by Someburros! I'm a big fan of Julio's Too, but don't always want to make the trek over to Oldtown. I know a good shredded beef taco, and these are some of the best. Rice and beans are great too. The homemade salsa is delicious and the chips are thin and crispy. The food is top notch and the service is great -- everyone is friendly and helpful. Cute outdoor seating area too! read more

Hands down best breakfast burritos in scottsdale! I haven't been able to find a solid breakfast burrito since moving to Arizona and Someburros has a bigger selection. I haven't tried the lunch here but have heard it is good. read more

Food was delicious and the customer service was impressive (I think it was Katie that helped me and she was so friendly and helpful with our high maintenance order)! We love the bean and cheese burritos, tacos and of course the pollo fundido. Tried the strawberry margarita for the first time today and it was perfect! Being able to call in an order and drive thru to pick it up is such a nice bonus. read more

Cross between a sit-down restaurant and a fast food taco shop. Food is served on real plates hot from the oven to your table, but you order at the counter & therefore save money on tipping. Food is greasier than I prefer but tasty. Delicious squeeze bottle salsa & chips included with your meal. I love that they offer Mexican breakfast - I'll be back to try their version of chilaquiles! read more

The service was great and my food was good. However, it's been over 24hr and I haven't ate since that meal. I feel like I have some case of food poisoning. But the food is good and service is great, I might've just has a bad batch of something from their kitchen that day. read more

Great service. Staff was very friendly. Food was fantastic. I had the Pancho Villa and my date had the Rod Burro. Both were delicious.

Dont get what all the fuss is about this place. Just tried for the first time for lunch and .....meh. Nothing special.Their normal combos dont even include a drink, and they were almost 10.00$!. My tamale was a strange affair- very soft masa outside. The taco was hardly filled. Will not return. read more

I don't know if I should even give it one star! I bought a groupon and decided to try this place and if nothing else it assured me I will not be coming back. I ordered two red chili beef burrito's and two shredded beef taco's to go and drove home and ate with my son. When we took the taco's out they dripped with grease and the shells broke apart to reveal just meat and a sprinkling of lettuce. The meat had gristle in it so was quite chewy. The burrito's were far worse, they had a glob of what I am assuming was beef and bean paste wrapped in a tortilla! It was awful, tasted burnt and a little like soap. Something to note here, if you think you can get some value by feeding it to your dog think again, he would not touch it. I purchased these items approximately at 5:15 pm so it was the beginning of the night. I feel real sorry for those folks that came in and ordered before closing. The owner really needs to pay attention to his or her investment. It is obvious quality is not coming out of their kitchen! read more

I ordered lunch for everyone at my office. I arrived at the drive-thru but somehow the drive-thru isn't really a drive-thru. Let me explain. There is no menu board nor a speaker to talk to. It's just a window. That makes no sense, right? So I decided to just park and go inside to pick up my food. I ordered my food and was about to leave when I looked in my bag and there were no tortilla chips. The employee was giving out free tortilla chips to the ones dining in at the restaurant. So I ask if I could have a small bag of chips. I was told that I would have to pay a fee for the chips if it was a take-out order. What is up with that?! So I reluctantly pay because you got to have chips with a Mexican meal. It's just tradition! On my way to the office, I noticed the bag sitting on my car seat was drenched with fatty oil that it soaked THROUGH the bag onto my leather car seats. Gross! So I arrive at the office and we all started to eat our lunch and we realized that the restaurant must be using lard because the flavor of the fat was so strong and distinct. Someone had ordered a chorizo burrito and the chorizo was completely burnt. My chimichanga was drenched with some red sauce. The spices in the sauce (cumin) was so strong, that it overpowered all other flavors. I could not eat it. Someone had tacos and they were dripping with fat. At this point, we all decided to throw the food away. It was not edible. I wish I would have not wasted my $35 dollars here and I could have donated my money to charity. A complete WASTE. Don't listen to the other reviews exclaiming how great the food is. I've been living in Phoenix for over 30 years and have NEVER experienced such disgusting Mexican food. Don't bother wasting your hard earned money here. If I could, I would give this place ZERO STARS. The only thing going for this place is the decor, but who cares about that if the place serves disappointing food. I know good Mexican food and this is just not it. I would rather eat at a taco stand in down town Phoenix than this place. STAY AWAY! read more
