    Short Rib Taco
    Melody W.

Food was good overall and it was nice that they were open past 8:30pm given a delay on my part arriving from the airport. Because I wasn't too hungry the food filled me up pretty quickly but it was a bit unfortunate that the short rib taco comes with just one single taco and not two, even though the one taco was pretty hefty! One of my friends got a tortilla soup kind of stew dish -- forgot the name-- and that definitely would be something I would recommend instead and goes well with the tortilla chips. The restaurant definitely had some Mexican influence in its interior design but I'm not sure why they put us in a corner especially since it felt hotter there especially since it seemed their A/C broke down! I think it's a worthwhile place to come back again but maybe in a larger group setting.

Food was excellent, service was attentive and ambiance was great. When it was time to pay the bill, the server informed us that the "system is down" and we needed to wait to get the bill. We waited awhile and then asked for the manager. We saw him approach a nearby table but he never came to ours. Finally, we wanted to get going so we estimated the price of our food and drinks, left cash on the table and departed. It was kind of weird. We estimated high and included enough for tax and tip. I hope it worked out. The poor server was helpless. I guess without technology, everything stops. I'm glad that I always carry cash.

    Happy hour tacos and marg

My friend and I went to SOL Mexican cocina to partake in their happy hour. They have a limited menu but the tacos and marg were all delicious! Their salsa also tastes fresh and delicious with just the right kick which I loved. Our server was nice and let me and my friend have our time to yap between check ins. It was pretty busy but the noise wasn't loud and the service was still quick! Our food came out super fast after we ordered which we were impressed by. This is a great value restaurant for happy hour.

The location of this place is great (Scottsdale Quarter), and the restaurant itself has a really nice atmosphere. The menu has a lot of options that sound great, and everything I tried was decent overall, but I wouldn't say anything really stood out as incredible. I've had better Mexican food at a fair number of other spots around the Phoenix metro. On top of that, the service was pretty average. They were polite but not especially warm or memorable. Overall, a decent place in a nice setting, but more of a good option if you're nearby rather than a "must-go" in my opinion.

Such a good experience overall. Marcus was our server and was great at making suggestions! The drinks were amazing, the food was flavorful, and the atmosphere has a really cool modern rustic Mexican aesthetic. Just a heads up -- if you're sensitive to spice, quite a few dishes do have some heat to them. Everything we had was delicious and beautifully presented. Definitely worth checking out.

We had lunch with a friend on a Saturday afternoon at 3. I've been multiple times, but she's never been and she loves the aesthetic and she lives in Scottsdale. It was not crowded. We had the best waitress all of her recommendations were spot on. Their specialty tacos are just one taco, but it's so worth it. Also, you wanna get a side of rice with your taco. The corn is so yummy. You wanna get about two of those.. we ate ours with their tortilla chips and salsa. It was so good. I had the shrimp and steak taco. It was so good.

Thursday - Sunday Evenings BOOK A RESERVATION! Everyone at the restaurant service wise was courteous even with the long wait times. We even had a wait for our booked reservation on a Friday night. I would like to give more details but whatever you eat, I will not doubt it is delicious. Even the chips and salsa/beans complimentary dish.

    Duck taco + Mushroom Taco

Coming in from the rain/monsoon we were seated quickly for lunch and our orders were taken immediately. Fried tortillas paired with black bean and salsa were brought our and that was a great starter, held back and not finishing the entire basket. Shrimp Taquitos- 4 pieces of nicely fried crispy bites of shrimp and crunch with a spicy sauce presentation. Duck Taco- well fried with the skin giving chicharron vibes and though it was only a leg/thigh portion I was able to make 3 tacos out of it. Great flavor with blackberry compote and diced red onions that were part of the plate. Mushroom Taco- packed a punch with the Queso Fresco as the saute mushrooms was very hearty and filling. Overall, great service quality food and nice atmosphere made this a great experience.

    Queso fundido

This is a beautiful restaurant with great food. I highly suggest the queso fundido. The peel and eat shrimp appetizer is also amazing. The tortilla soup is packed with flavor. This is a great place for a date or with a group. I'm not a tequila drinker so I enjoy the lemongrass cooler or the basil honey gin drink. Service is always great.

Amazing food! Filling but not too filling, restaurant was beautiful and clean and the service was phenomenal, our waitress was very friendly and quick. Only 1 complaint, one of our servings of rice was undercooked and under seasoned. Definitely would recommend and I'm glad i had the chance to go!

UPDATE-----Phil the manager is awesome! We love that he went around engaging with his customers. You can't go wrong with this group of people, Israel, Armando, Rodrigo and Phil... we really enjoyed our lunch, our service was impeccable. I love the fresh chips and salsa. They have many different kinds of tequila and margaritas. Everyone there is always so nice and we have never had bad service. Our tacos were delicious today. We liked the atmosphere and it is very clean. I WOULD RECOMMEND

    Happy hour menu

Couldn't resist and came back to give them another chance, sadly disappointed again at the slow and unacceptable service. The good the food, the bad service, took forever for drinks and the place wasn't even busy at 4pm, food was slow and never offered more chips, beans or salsa... till we ask and still took so long we were pretty much done. With so many other choices here will pass likely on this place in the future. I really thought about giving the manager some feedback but he can read and respond here if he is serious about fixing and improving the place!

You can tell right away this is the kind of place regulars come back to often. Food I didn't try much food, but I did have the cheese crisp and it was solid. Light, flaky, and more like an open-faced tostada than a quesadilla. It came topped with green chili and chicken, and everything worked well together. Based on that, I'd expect the rest of the menu to be consistent, even if it's not trying to reinvent the wheel. Service Service was efficient, especially considering how busy it was. No complaints here... you can tell the staff knows how to handle a full house and keep things moving. Ambience This is where the place stands out. The vibe feels like a food network designed a biker bar, but in a fun, not over-the-top way. It's also apparently a Kansas City Chiefs bar, which adds to the identity. There was a live band playing early 2000s rock hits, which kept the energy up. Crowd was friendly overall, very much a neighborhood crowd. Overall This isn't a destination bar, but it's a really solid go-to if you live nearby. Think of it as an elevated dive/sports bar with a strong local following. Good drinks, good energy, and a place that does what it's supposed to do well.

However, every time we visited in the past, we had a great experience--until this last visit. We made a reservation for 7:45 PM but didn't get seated until 8:30 PM. While this isn't terrible, it can be challenging when you have a little one with you, but it's to be expected as a parent. Once we were at our table, we ordered drinks and food for the kids. My wife ordered a cocktail, and I opted for an Old Fashioned. The kids ordered pasta and a cheese pizza. This is when things started to go downhill. The pasta was okay, but the pizza had a few hairs on it--more than one, in fact. This made us uncomfortable, so we informed the waiter, and they addressed the issue promptly. As we waited for the new pizza, our drinks arrived, and they were nicely presented. However, while sipping my Old Fashioned, I noticed something unusual in my drink--Tajin. Curious, I asked the waiter if this was a special variation of the Old Fashioned. She replied no, so I pointed out the issue in my glass, and she confirmed she saw the Tajin as well. I felt she was treating it as if it was acceptable, which it clearly wasn't, so I looked at her, signaling that I would like a new drink. (I wish I had taken pictures.) Following that, our main dishes started to arrive. My wife ordered a wagyu steak, and I had the pork loin. Unfortunately, we began to analyze everything after the earlier mishaps, and the vibe of the experience was completely lost. To make matters worse, we were still charged for the pizza that had hair on it and the drink that had the issue. With all that being said, I've decided I will no longer be dining here.

The service was okay - not bad, but a little on the mediocre side. That said, the food definitely made up for it. The Wagyu steak was absolutely delicious, and the appetizers were solid as well. Even with a few small hiccups, it was still a great experience and a fun night out. We would definitely go back and would just ask to sit closer to the front next time.
