Terrible food on a recent visit. They did take it off the bill though. The first taco salad lunch special was served with cold chicken and both the first and second taco shells wete stale.

We got here at 11 am. We were quickly seated and served. There wasn't a lot of people in at this time. Food was great! I want to try something different next time.

Back again- today 2/21/25 for lunch. This time it's lunch for three and nice break from our Mayo visit. Menu My Wife and I both departed from our go-to dishes. She chose the Beef Fajitas and I selected the Pollo Fundido. They were both great! It pays to stray from your normal go-to's occasionally to deepen your bench! (Sorry for the Sports analogy). Our friend chose the Beef taco dish and enjoyed hers too. Beautiful Restaurant, excellent service, great food!

This was supposed to be a green corn tamale meal, which was delivered as a meat tamale, with meat coming out & touching the beans and rice.

I received an order tonight from Door Dash. I ordered a green corn enchilada meal as I am a vegetarian. The meal that arrived had meat in it, so it was inedible. (The meat was also coming out & touching the rice & beans, so I couldn't eat those either). I also ordered a side order of guacamole which was completely black on the top and seen easily through the sides of the container as black throughout. Who sends out food like this? Disgusting. The salsa also tasted bad as though it was fermented. This used to be my favorite restaurant. The last 3 orders I had were wrong or bad. My Carlos O'Briens days are over.

If you are looking for bland mediocre Mexican food, your at the right place. Salsa is similar to Pace Picante, the guacamole tastes like store bought no flavor, bland. They did try by adding tomatoes and onions. Ordered a cheese crisp, there was nothing crisp about it. Cheese enchiladas rice and beans all bland. There are so many better options in the area, Carlos Obrien's needs to step up their game.

The enchiladas were delicious and soooo cheesey (perfect). Service was amazing and a great ambience. Not too loud

Two words to consider when looking for old school Phoenix Mexican food, Pollo Fundido. Come on! Shredded chicken rolled into a flour tortilla, deep fried until golden and crisp. Then, it's slathered with jalapeño cream cheese and covered with cheddar, placed under a broiled until the whole operation is melty served with rice and beans. Enjoy it when you can because this is a Phoenix thing. Move away and you crave that gooey cheesy melt combined with crispy tortilla and juicy seasoned chicken. Trust me, I've been trying to find a place in San Diego (home) where I can have this again. Nope, only in Phoenix. Let's also not forget about Cheese Crisp's. A Phoenix thing and cannot be found elsewhere. And NO! A quesadilla is not the same thing so don't even try to correct me because you are wrong. O'brien's, Garcia's, TeePee, etc etc all serve Cheese Crisp's. Paired with house salsa and a sprinkling of fresh chopped lettuce and tomato is equal to heaven. Service here was efficient and friendly. Drinks, salsa bowls and chips were always full and plenty. Food come out fast so be sure to "course" out your meal as you see fit. Inside booths and tables were comfortable and not too close to your neighbors. Until my next trip to Cheese Crisp homeland... The parents and I were at the Mayo for a procedure, and after 10 days, my dad was really tired of cafeteria food. During my trip to visit and help, I introduced him to Uber, and his request was tacos. This place popped up as close with good reviews, so we stopped in here for lunch. It's big inside, so we had no issues getting a nice booth to sit in. Our server was helpful, and the menu labeled for gluten-free. I had tacos with sides, two flavored margaritas, and the papa had a chili relleno and taco. We also ordered fajitas to go for the sick mama. Everything came out hot and gooey and was delicious. My dad was super happy to get something other than hospital food. The margaritas were great, and I also enjoyed the chips and salsa. It's definitely a good spot for the Americanized Mexican food we know and love.

Just love the ambience here. You feel like you are on the island with the scented candles, music and the decor. As always, the service was amazing! The food did not disappoint either. I almost always get the lump crab and avocado salad. It is my favorite and gluten-free, yay. My husband enjoyed his fish tacos as well. I'm sure we will be back again in the future. Always fun to shop at the store downstairs afterwards.

That was kind of a bummer, but I totally understood having difficulty accommodating 12 people last minute. I sat down and ordered an ice tea. I believe she gave me a mango tea, but I'm not 100% sure but it definitely didn't taste like a regular unsweet tea. My husband ordered the guacamole and it came out relatively quickly. it was fresh and the chips were, too. For my main meal, I ordered a lobster bisque soup. The soup wasn't super hot, but they did give me a large serving of it. They actually charged me for two soups and one came out again later. Luckily, they took this back and removed it from my bill. I also ordered the tuna tacos from their appetizer list. The crunchiness of the taco and the fresh tuna was absolutely delicious. I want to say it was even better than my husband's mahi tacos looked. Good experience at this restaurant for us!

The biggest difference was the ambiance. The music was so loud that it made conversation at our table difficult, and the tables were placed very close together, making the dining room feel a bit cramped. It lacked the relaxed, inviting vibe we've come to expect from the Gilbert location. We started with the Cacio e Pepe Arancini, and it was every bit as delicious as we remembered. Crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, and full of flavor, it's still one of our favorite appetizers. We also shared the Little Gem Caesar Salad, which had just the right amount of dressing and was fresh, crisp, and satisfying. For my entrée, I ordered the Shrimp Scampi, which was delicious with perfectly cooked shrimp and great flavor. Around the table we also tried the Agnolotti Pomodori, which was very enjoyable, and the Spicy Rigatoni, another solid choice with just the right amount of heat. Dessert was the only real disappointment. We finished with the Banana Caramel Butter Cake, but unfortunately it was quite dry and didn't live up to the rest of the meal. Although this location didn't have the same atmosphere as Gilbert, the kitchen still delivered several excellent dishes. I'd happily return for the arancini and pasta, but I hope they turn the music down a bit and give diners a little more breathing room between tables so the overall experience is as enjoyable as the food.

He did great, of course because he knows what I love. He picked the Benny and what's perfection is you can get a full benny and a half of one kind and half another-amazing! I end up with original and cali. The meat on the original was terrific, the smoky hollandaise has the right consistency and flavor of mayo and lemon. I didn't know what to expect with the Parmesan crusted English muffin but it was phenomenal- I wanted more of it! It added depth of flavor that I want on every Benedict going forward! The hash browns are crispy and go great with the benny. I ordered the boozy blackberry lemonade with your choice of liquor and asked our friendly server for her recommendation and she suggested gin and she was so right-it was delightful and refreshing! My husband had the corned beef and it was also tasty, perfectly salted and he said the rest was good. We cleaned our plates! We were seated right away, though it was 11:30 am on a Thursday. I had the sweet potato veggie smash up and a vanilla almond matcha latte. The latte came first and while it had a lot of matcha in it, it wasn't very good at all. I could taste matcha and the almond milk but not a lot of vanilla and the two flavors of almond milk and matcha didn't really go well together. I could make better matcha at home for a fraction of the price and in hindsight I might have even been better off just getting something from the next door Starbucks for the same price. The sweet potato dish looked smaller than I anticipated but was beautifully presented. I loved the mix of veggies in it which included pickled onions, asparagus, mushroom and avocado. There was a hint of sweetness from the maple syrup drizzles and the sweet potato halves themselves were soft and sweet. A few sprinklings of hemp seed added a little bit of extra textural component to the dish. It came with one poached egg on top. I feel like I did need some hot sauce to add some contrast to the light sweetness of the meal from the sweet potato and maple syrup. They offer Cholula and Yellow Bird sauce if you like a little spice or vinegar with your food. My husband had the banana pancakes which tasted a bit like the banana bread version of pancakes. They were good and had a lovely topping of berries but we were surprised there weren't any slices of banana on top to fully associate this dish with the main ingredient banana. Service was very friendly and efficient. The decor is retro and they were playing a mix of decades old hits when we were here.
