Great brunch spot with good prices. Brunch is served until 2pm. I ordered the breakfast sandwich that came with their breakfast hash. The bread was really soft and slightly toasted. The potatoes had chopped onion and some cheese that were delicious. Service was quick but there was some miscommunication in our orders. My friend didn't get the right protein for her bowl and another friend had her eggs the wrong way she wanted. She asked the waitress if there was eggs inside the breakfast taco but she said no. She asked for eggs to be added inside but she gave her a sunny side up egg on the side instead which we thought was really funny. It's a cute place that has retro coloring with a Mexican flair to it. This place was so busy! We went at 4:30 and got on the waitlist. We waited 50 minutes to get a table but there were 9 of us. Our server was really nice and got everyone's orders accurate. Diego Pops was the spot when I was in college. Personally, it's not my first choice but it does the job if i'm hungry. I recently went with old friends and I had the shrimp and fish tacos - which were better than I thought however I felt like the tacos were 60% cabbage and 40% protein. The elote queso and side of elote was tastier than the entrees if I'm honest. Besides that, our server was great and attentive and she really sold us on the daily margarita. Food was tasty, tex mex style, and there were nice drinks too. Location is fabulous although it might be slightly challenging to find parking slot nearby. The only things that didn't quite hit for us were the Brussels sprout salad, which didn't have the best flavor balance, and the taco bowl, which was surprisingly a bit bland. It had been a while since I had been to Diego Pops, but my recent visit helped me remember why I used to view this as a reliably good "chic Mexican" restaurant. The staff was friendly and timely, and their menu consisted of some pretty solid Happy Hour specials, such as half off appetizers and noticeable discounts on drinks. The tacos themselves were delicious because of the super crispy tortilla shells and their excellent sauces. My favorite was the Serrano ranch, but it's fun to try all 6 of them. I came in here the other night with a few girlfriends for HH and it was a lot of fun, a lot of food, and very reasonably priced. My kids both got the shredded chicken tacos kids meal, which comes with a bowl of shredded chicken (which is very juicy and yummy, but also note it's drippy and can be messy!), a side of 2 tortillas (we ended up asking for more and each kid got 3 tacos out of his meal), beans, rice, cheese and avocado slices. We also got the street corn which you can get on the cob or in a bowl. We opted for the bowl since we were sharing. Good portion and also tasty. Imagine how much more business can be achieved by seating folks faster? They are not alone in this practice, but when sitting waiting for 20 minutes to get a table whilst seeing empty tables inside and out going empty the whole time, is not a good practice. But the bowl was very good! Great flavors, shrimp was cooked nicely, and the ingredients were all so cohesive. They also have a sauce caddy placed on each table, which was fun. I tried all of them and thought each one was delicious. I added a few different ones to my bowl because I always like extra sauce. The atmosphere at Diego Pops is also something to write home about. After a work event, my colleagues and I were in the area and with little to no convincing, we decided on Diego Pops. We went family style - the best way - and of course got the brussel nachos, personal MUST, aguachile ceviche, a side of guac and while everyone else got the crispy fish tacos (delicious), I opted for the late night crunch wrap- say less! At 8 dollars, HOW COULD I NOT?! It truly hit the mark and if I found myself out past nine more frequently, I would definitely be going here. Aguachile was good, had a nice kick, but not a stand out for me personally. The guac was also good, but a little boring for what I would expect from Diego Pops.
