Atmosphere is super cute. Food is good. Booths are spacious. Staff always seem stressed and rushed no matter how kind and friendly I attempt to be. It just really never feels like they care that I am here giving them my business, and that has always bothers me. I got here shortly after 11am so it is not even busy, yet. I do not know why they can't be a little nicer or at least smile. I feel like I am inconveniencing them to take the time to take my order and prepare my food. I should not need to feel that way. Still I keep coming back, year after year. Something about dining here feels festive. I am glad this location has a drive thru. I have also used that before. Soda is always good. This is important to me and can ruin my whole experience at a restaurant if soda doesn't taste good. The lids are a struggle to put in the cups though. I overheard an employee helping a firefighter get his lid on, and I mentioned that I always have the same struggle, myself. They have Christmas music on which is nice for mid-December. Any substitutions here means paying a whole lot more. We ended up paying $6 more just to substitute chicken adobo and they even charged us extra for rice and beans. This makes no sense, so what is the point of ordering an enchilada entree where even rice and beans are not included in the price. When we checked our bag, they did not even include chips. It was time for lunch and I felt like having something Mexican. Since I was already at the Promenade, I drove over to Someburros. The police had quite a few hungry customers eating and waiting in line for their order. I decided on a shredded chicken burro. I got my free chips with the order, paid and found seating. I hate to say it, but Someburros is terrible. First-time customer and I'm confident this is my last visit. I stopped in to satisfy a craving for tacos, but it was hardly edible. The shells were painfully hard, the meat was tough, and lettuce wasn't fresh. Peep my pictures. One is supposed to be ground beef and the other chicken. Yuck. I wanted to love this "family-owned business," but it's hard to comprehend how it stays in business. I basically paid $12 for a fountain drink as I couldn't eat more than two bites of this food. Someburros was fine. I enjoyed the chips and salsa, the food took around 25 minutes to come out which seemed excessive for a fast casual spot that wasn't busy. Service was friendly on ordering. I had the Machacha beef,egg, and potato burro. It was fine both ends took a few bites to get into any of the filling. Did like you can tell they use real eggs in it. My wife had the asada breakfast burro with a side of sour cream. Glad she ordered the sour cream to use some on mine as well as a little dry. Got a vegetarian breakfast burrito and some coffee. The coffee was sweetened even though I did not ask for sweetener so I didn't love that. My burrito was warm and stretchy on the outside with crispy taters on the inside. The "hot" sauces were decent in flavor but pretty mild; I wish I could have added grilled veggies or something to my burrito for a little more flavor. Someburros is a good idea if you're short on time and craving tacos. Service was excellent and food was ready super fast We ordered pollo fundido and three tacos. Chicken was wrapped in corn tortillas but there was so much tortilla and it was very doughy with very little chicken. The tacos were really good though. Carne asada was our favorite. Service: Hit or miss on register. Tables tend to stay dirty longer than they should be and staff needs to be called over to clean up; with many empty tables often not cleaned. I've been into this Someburros a few times and it's nothing special, but it's pretty consistent in terms of fast and decent Mexican food. You can't go wrong with a burrito. I tried a salad recently and it was mediocre but the shredded chicken is good... (I'm kind of picky about chicken and I approve!) I've always done takeout here but there is plenty of seating should you choose to dine in... Counter service is friendly and efficient and there is plenty of parking. Someburros was okay for us. The workers were very friendly, but it seemed as though priority was given to drive thru or pick up orders at it took a very long time to get the food out. This was a bummer because we actually had earlier lunch plans with friends and by the time we actually got our burritos, we had about an hour and a half before eating again. I was surprised and disappointed to learn that sour cream was an up charge similarly priced to guacamole. Today I ordered the Machaca Beef & Bean Burro (deep fried, lettuce, tomato, potato and fried egg) plus a horchata cold brew and whewie this cured my hangover. Ingredients were fresh and the meat flavorful. And adding potatoes was *chefs kiss. All of this for $16? Cmon now - we can only get taquitos for that price in LA. We've eaten here several times and often get "to go" from the drive through on our way home from the airport. Salsa is excellent you can buy it in pint size container's. Regular customer over many years. Last couple of togo orders have contained burnt tortillas on burros and tortillas are extremely hard to cut based on their consistency. Tacos were burnt and cheese is a hit and miss. Last order had 3 types of burros and they were not labeled so I had to unwrap them to see what was what.
