    Cinnamon Roll
    Katie A.

I'm a tough critic when it comes to pastries and these exceeded my expectations. The frosting was decadent and flavorful. The pastries are huge, perfect size to share. The cinnamon rolls were a hit but we loved the blueberry pastry too, which was a special. My husband also tried the chocolate chip cookie and said it was delicious.

New things: Blueberry cardamom: this was a lighter dessert in terms of the cream but doughier. The bottom has the texture of kouign amann but not all throughout. Almond croissants: very flaky as their pastries are, with generous globs of paste.

    Chocolate Chip cookie

Immediately upon walking in, I was greeted by the staff, which was nice. I was asked if there's any help needed. I inquired about some of the items they had on display. They had a variety of croissants and two types of cookies. I originally went there for the chocolate chip cookie, but they also had a tiramisu cookie which was a tiramisu like cream top with a sort of graham cracker base for the cookie is what was described. I decided to just go with the classic chocolate chip, hoping to get that brown butter flavor. The cookies are served warm and they do leave a bit of oily residue on your fingers when eating they're soft with a light crisp edge not too crunchy. I saw at least two different types of chocolate being used in the cookie, which was nice. I also didn't feel overwhelmed with the amount of chocolate. It did taste a little sweeter than I would usually prefer for my liking, but nothing unbearable still very enjoyable. The overall flavor was OK not bad for a chocolate chip cookie at all. But I did have a hard time really feeling that brown butter. Perhaps the description I looked up online was wrong. Is it the worst cookie? Not at all, by far. Is it the best cookie? Also not, by far. I would say it definitely does well enough to satisfy your cooking craving if you're stuck in LIC/astoria area. It would go really well with a glass of milk, but if we're going purely based on flavor, not just warm cookie cravings-- I will have to say that overall it was missing that "special touch" that makes it stand out in a city that has so many strong cookies to compete. Lastly, when you walk in I saw a small counter on the side that you could stand standby and perhaps one or two seat seats but overall it felt more like a grab and go rather than a sit and chat kind of place. But it was calming and you could smell the baked goods from right outside the door, which was delicious. I may come back one day to try that spinach and ricotta swirl because it definitely looked good.

I've been visiting Somedays for quite a while now and they've always got me on my toes with their seasonal menu changes. I have to say though their savory items are better than their sweet. The egg and cheese croissant and the spinach ricotta escargot, excellent. Pistachio Basque cheesecake that's served in the evenings is a SKIP. I was totally fooled by their IG posts into thinking theirs would be gooey and melty like traditional Spanish basque but alas it's just firm even with sitting at room temp for a while. Flavor was good but this was on a whole other level of charred and just dry and whatever really. A disappointment for the price and size. I do appreciate the staff, especially this gentleman I see working there often during the week who is super super sweet. If you call they will put aside items for you if you're on your way. I'm a sucker for Somedays so I'll be back again and again.

Lemon white chocolate cookie from the evening menu

They have a day menu and evening menu. About $7 for an average pastry. The lemon white chocolate cookie is quite hefty (probably a good 5-6 oz that they've baked off) and it is great! Not quite 5-stars yet because I went in the evening. I want to come back to try the lattices or savory pastries that I see so many people rave about from the day menu.

I wandered into Somedays Bakery with the intention of just scoping out prices... and walked out $17 poorer. Their pastries are so beautiful, it felt like they were daring me not to buy one. Spoiler: I failed. I ended up with an almond croissant and the pistachio lattice, and honestly? No regrets. The almond croissant was rich and nutty with just the right amount of sweetness--crispy edges, soft center, and generous almond slices. But the pistachio lattice? Next-level. Layers of pastry hugging raspberry jam, pistachio frangipane, and a kiss of white chocolate. It's decadent and dreamy--definitely one of the best pastries I've had in NYC. Prices are on the higher end ($6.95 and $8.95 respectively), so while I'd love to be a regular, my wallet says this might have to stay a special treat spot. Still, for what you get--top-notch ingredients, stunning presentation, and flavor that delivers--it's worth the splurge.

Im impressed with there croissants but even more impressed with how good the cappuccinos are !! I love this place and staff is so nice. Ambience is super clean, sad I don't live nearby because I would be a regular! No inside seating!

Took a two hour trip to Queens, and when I tell you, this bakery was worth every single step of the way! Everybody was delicious and more savory than the last! I arrived there just before closing in time to grab up some of their amazing treats! The pretzel came with a Dijon dipping sauce that I am still dreaming about! And the tahini WOW

Delicious croissants in a variety of interesting flavors, greet you as soon as you walk through the doors! Tried the black sesame tahini croissant. Definitely delicious flavor! Very tasty! The black sesame was baked until crackling. Unfortunately not my type of pastry though. This is baked until the outside is very hard, which I don't like. It is soft in the inside though. I prefer my croissant to be very fluffy, all over. I know many will disagree with me. It's just my preference. But if you like ultra crispy and crunchy, this place is perfect for you! Because it is delicious. The price point of these pastries are a bit on the high side. Prices of croissants range from $5-$14. With most being around $8-9 dollars. They do use quality ingredients like New Zealand butter. Which is made from cows grazed in pastures. It's known for its rich and creamy flavor, golden color, and high nutritional value. Which makes it rich and oh so tasty. I do see pictures of cake slices on this yelp site. But didn't see any inside the store. Also on the menu are cookies and beverages. Service: Quick and pleasant. Seating. Unfortunately there is little. One tiny table inside and another outside. This place is really for takeout only. Come check this place out if you wanna try something different.

This bakery was absolutely worth the schlep...we had three incredible pastries: a delightfully full almond croissant oozing with almost paste, a sinfully rich sesame tahini croissant (so incredibly flaky with just a touch of savory to make the sweet that much deeper) and the sky high blueberry bun. All were delicious. So many wonderful treats to choose from. We'd happily enjoy them all.

    Monthly special - pizza
    Serenity G.

Amazing pastries! I had such a hard time deciding what to get because everything looked so good! Ended up ordering the egg and cheese croissant, savory monthly special, crispy baked chicken sando, chocolate hazelnut lattice and a cortado. Everything I tried was good. My favorite had to be the crispy baked chicken sando. The egg and cheese croissant and the savory monthly special were good but it felt like both were missing something. I will say everything is on the pricer end but it's worth a treat every once in a while. There is no indoor seatings but they do have few tables outside. The staffs are super friendly and will help explain everything to help you make your decision.

    Smoked Salmon Croissant (~$14)
    Aya E.

Ordered: Smoked Salmon Croissant (~$14) Blueberry Cardamom Bun (~$9): wild blueberry jam, cardamom sugar, and cream cheese frosting Pistachio & Banana Ice Cream Croissant Bowl (~$9) Aya's take: Being an Astoria native, Somedays Bakery is one of the best additions to the neighborhood in a long time! The bakery itself is small with only a handful of tables outside. Otherwise, it's a grab-and-go establishment. As we were looking at their fully-stocked selection, we overheard the workers talking about the new Pistachio & Banana Ice Cream Croissant Bowl that had just rolled out that week. They had me at croissant bowl and banana ice cream, honestly. The croissant bowl is so innovative and actually worked really well as a bowl. It has that flaky butteriness that a croissant would but a bit firmer to hold the ice cream. The Pistachio & Banana Ice Cream was a great combination. It's made in-house and didn't taste artificial at all. We also got some classics - the Smoked Salmon Croissant which I absolutely loved! The smoked salmon was fresh, the cream cheese was light and creamy, and the red onions were crisp and the dill made each bite bright. The Blueberry Cardamom Bun was so bouncy and soft while the cream cheese frosting was a bit citrusy and very delectable. Prices are slightly too high for what you're getting, in my opinion, but the quality and flavors are undoubtedly there. I was overwhelmed with how many options they had and I just know I'm going to have to come back to give their other items a try! Check them out!

Here's an updated take: this charming bakery continues to become a neighborhood favorite, offering a great mix of freshly baked goods. The spot is standing room only & my suggestion is to get there early so that you get the perfect "pick of the litter" since their croissants do sell out fast! The standout feature here is their croissants--crispy, golden on the outside & well textured, often filled with some serious ingredients like spinach and cheese, or smoked salmon, dill, and cream cheese. Whether you opt for the classic plain or the more adventurous options like almond or chocolate-filled croissants, each one is a perfect balance of flakiness and richness. The bakery's commitment to quality is evident in the attention to detail with each croissant looking like an original piece of art. Complementing the pastries is their carefully curated selection of La Colombe coffee- the brand is arguably a classic and the best kind of coffee there is. It is rich and robust with a smooth finish that enhances the flavors of the croissants. When you finally leave the store you'll get a box that feels reminiscent of containing a real treasure. A+ for this neighborhood spot.

Ice cream with some toppings is 14 bucks. You can get a pint at caffe Panna for that price. Stick to croissants.

IF PEOPLE WANTED BETTER REVIEWS THEY SHOULD HAVE BEHAVED BETTER. I was what you call a regular here late nights....would make it in here b twice a week MINIMUM so they know me and even even greeted me as such I have personally witnessed the confused taller employee on the younger side speaking very nasty to homeless people just asking for a cup of water. I never really thought much of it until the lack of respect knocked on my door too. (Lack of respect for himself first and then anyone else). What an embarrassment to his poor parents. I ordered a crepe here and found what appeared to be a pubic hair inside. Instead of making a huge deal about it and embarrassing and putting the young man on the spot, I asked him to come speak to me off to the side away from others. I politely asked for a refund. Instead of addressing the concern, I was told it wasn't a hair and that it came from a banana. Bananas don't have hairs like that. The refusal to acknowledge or resolve the issue was disappointing. The refusal to make good on the mistake was fueled by the fact that I wasn't being receptive to the young man's advances and tacky attempts to flirt with me. This can be confirmed because right after being denied the confused young man followed me outside(as I'm writing this review and tried to use the incident as an icebreaker to get to speak to me on a more personal and intimate basis -- didn't work and young man was told to step away from me immediately. Mistakes can happen, but how they're handled matters. I won't be returning.
