As you walk in the smells are heavenly. You are greeted with a very friendly hello! The display case has every kind of cupcake you could hope for. I know from experience the cupcakes are amazing- and sure to please. I am blessed with great neighbors & when they have birthdays I like to get them something as special as them & from a local business.

We truly enjoyed our cake tasting for our wedding. Desta sketched how our cake would look and we loved it. Then covid happened and the bakery was helpful in working with us as we figured out a new wedding date. We ordered our cake for our microwedding and larger wedding. We also had mini desserts : mini Dutch apple pies and mini raspberry cheesecakes. I loved how our cake turned out. As part of our wedding package, we would get the top tier remade to enjoy for our 1 year anniversary. The ribbed look was really messy and uneven compared to the wedding day cake. See picture. I realized it once I was looking at wedding day photos. We had a bit of a drive from Galt so I do wish they would've had an appropriate sized box for the top tier. So I had to carry it on my lap mostly opened all the way home.

Went with my daughter for her wedding cake tasting. Arrive hungry! This was the most unique tasting I've ever been to. We were able to try all the cake flavors, fillings, fresh fruits, and frostings in order to create her own combination. She chose champagne cake with a dark chocolate and strawberry filling and cream cheese frosting. Delicious!!! We liked it so much that I ordered it again for her 23rd birthday! The service was wonderful and all staff we interacted with was very helpful. The shop is very cute and they stock lots of cupcakes daily that can be purchased ala carte.

They always do an amazing job and cakes taste so good! They've done a baptism cake for my daughter wich was a plain naked cake and exactly what I wanted. And for my sons birthday they did a jack o lantern cake and it was so awesome! I loved it and he LOVED it!

A few weeks ago, Something Sweet did the desserts and a wedding cake for our son's reception (they were married out of state a few weeks before). The owner was fabulous to work with. Every time I came into the shop to taste something or ask a question, she was very helpful. She gave great advice about how many items we needed. Everything tasted great, looked beautiful, was ready on time, etc. Highly recommend!

Me and my wife stopped for a evening dessert. My wife order a lemon bar and Oreo truffle. I ordered a hostess cupcake and pumpkin cream cheese cupcake. I also ordered a Oreo truffle after the customer service lady had talk me into getting one. The Oreo truffle was rich and flavorful. The white chocolate with the soft inside just made my tastebuds go into over drive. My wife had the same feeling as I did. She loved her lemon bar. She said it was bursting with flavor and it was the best lemon bar she has ever had. The hostess cupcake taste better than the real one. The frosting was fresh and gooey. The cake was soft and the cream inside was light. The pumpkin cheesecake cupcake was a flavor experience. The pumpkin and the cream cheese flavor was just the perfect combination of flavors. The cupcake was light but pack with great flavor. The customer service was great and ambiance was customer service friendly. This is a great place for desserts and they make made to order cakes.

Update to previous review. The owner reached out to me both on my post and privately. She was very polite and apologetic. I went into the bakery on 3/20 and instead of taking advantage of a situation, I chose to purchase a cannoli and 6 cupcakes to take home to my family. We were all very pleased with the flavors and quality of ingredients. The staff while in the bakery were very busy but still very courteous and helpful! My wedding cake experience definitely will not prevent me from patronizing this bakery for further desires.

Something Sweet did a fantastic job on my son's birthday cake. I wanted a cake that was on the simple side but still captured the theme of the party and that's exactly what we got. Most importantly, the cake tasted delicious and all the guests went back for seconds. We also ordered cupcakes that were equally cute and delicious. The ordering process couldn't have been easier and the gal that helped me design the cake was super kind and helpful. We will be back next year!

Ok.. where do I even start? Desta and her team made my wedding cake dreams come true! My cake was definitely one of my favorite things about my wedding. I told Desta what I wanted and she sketched out a design and made it happen! It was even more beautiful than I imagined. My guests were asking if my cake was fake because it looked so perfect! The details were incredible. I asked for a Pearl white finish and a glitter tier. No problem! They made it happen! And it was delicious! I got the pink champagne flavor. There was not a slice left over after the wedding. My guests were calling and texting saying how good the cake was. I worked very closely with Ashley who works at the bakery. She was always so professional, answered all my questions (I had a lot) and just very very nice! I cannot wait to have another event or party so I can get another cake made! Another cool thing this bakery offers is instead of freezing your top layer for a year, they make you a fresh top layer! I can't wait to get that!

A friend brought cupcakes from this bakery over for my birthday. I'm not sure on order process, price, and such as didn't order them however their taste and packaging were excellent. I'm not a sweets person but these cupcakes were delish! The flavors we had were the margarita, strawberry cheesecake and vanilla and all were super moist and were a huge hit with everyone. They did have fillings so if you're not a fan, be aware. The frosting tasted like a buttercream and was tasty and not overpowering. If I was in the area, I definitely would order from them.

Omg, I can't believe I forgot to leave a review for this place! They did our 6 tier cake for our wedding. The quality of the cake and fillings were amazing and the design they came up with was absolutely gorgeous. Not only that, but they were able to help us customize our cake in a way that made the price drastically cheaper than all the other bakers we had spoken to. This is an incredible bakery! We booked with Something Sweet for our wedding cake and wedding cupcakes before the shutdown. Even though COVID completely turned the world upside down, Desta did an amazing job to go above and beyond and communicating with us and make our new intimate wedding just as special with the delicious cake and cupcakes we so loved! I continue to go to here for every party and occasion because they do such an excellent job! I am very picky when it comes to desserts and like just plain vanilla cupcakes and Something Sweet's vanilla cupcake, with vanilla frosting and graham cracker crumble is definitely my ALL time favorite cupcake to have at every occasion! They were our first and only choice for our wedding cake! From setting up the tasting appointment, to making sure my husband got to taste the cakes when he got back from his deployment before our wedding, to pulling everything off without a hitch on our wedding day, Something Sweet Bakery was amazing from start to finish! I came in with a very rough idea of what I wanted, which was basically just flowers. I showed the Owner my dress, and she came up with the idea of doing the lace overlay, and it turned out beautiful! We still come here every couple of weeks for cupcakes and other goodies. Best part? They remake your wedding cake top layer on your one year anniversary! Can't wait! read more

We ordered a cake from Something Sweet for a Woodland Animal Theme Baby Shower. It was lemon cake with strawberry filling, and it was beyond amazing. The service of the staff when we ordered, and picked up was so nice and helpful. It was our first experience with Something Sweet, and we will now be repeat customers. It's very rare that I write a review, and if I do, it has to be something that literally "Awes" me. I brought my fiancees birthday cake from here and picked it up yesterday. The cake turned out waaaaaaay better than I imagined! Not only did it look amazing, but the taste was phenomenal! The cake was super moist and the frosting wasn't overly sweet. It was perfect! My wife and I think of ourselves as cupcake connoisseurs and always make it a point to try new cupcakes wherever we go, whether they are to be found at the local grocers or in a specialty shop, thus we were especially surprised when we came upon Something Sweet Bakery. They keep a fabulous variety of cupcakes on hand, but the best thing about them is the taste. Too often cupcakes at other places tend to have similar flavors that all blend in, but not so at Something Sweet. If you buy a dozen different cupcakes, you will be able to bite into a dozen different delicious flavors. From Coconut Cream Pie to Rocky Road, each will offer a unique gastronomical delight. Cupcakes are not their only creation either. After viewing some of the cakes they had made, we started to make special requests for cakes and have been thrilled with the results. The first we requested was for a wine & cheese tasting we had scheduled and the cake they created looked elegant and wound up being the centerpiece of the event and we were tickled at how many people kept taking pictures of it. Next we asked for a special cake for a St. Patrick's Day party we attended and asked if it could be flavored like an Irish Car Bomb and they were excited to try out that unique flavoring. The best part was that everyone loved the taste, but the cake looked fantastic too. The latest was a dragon created for a friend's birthday. (Pictures are posted.) The staff is friendly and quite helpful if you are not certain what you want, but they'll also listen and they love trying out new ideas if possible and the prices are very reasonable for what you receive. My husband and I absolutely LOVE the cake and the ladies at Something Sweet! They provided the cake and cupcakes for my wedding, and they were a HIT! Our consultation with Desta was great and she heard what we wanted and ran with it. We had 6 different flavors of cupcakes...Carrot cake, Maple Bourbon Pecan, Chocolate and strawberry, Lemon Blueberry, Apple-pie, and Salted Caramel. Everyone at our wedding loved them and so many people were back for seconds and thirds! My husband and I will drive to Galt from Tracy just to get cupcakes because we don't know any place that has cupcakes quite that good. All the cakes are moist, and the flavors are always on point! And the ladies there...they are awesome! So personable and are so fun to talk to when we make our little trips to get those delicious bites of heaven! Thank you Desta and the ladies at Something Sweet Bakery, we have found our favorite bakery and can't wait to work with you again in the future. Desta provided wedding cake and dessert bar for our daughters wedding at Delta Diamond Farm on 9-12-15 and we are just speechless! Everything was so delicious and our guests were delighted with the flavors and variety! We highly recommend Something Sweet!! And as if that wasn't enough, they will make a replica of the top tier for free on their one year anniversary because like Desta said "one year old cake is gross!" Where do we begin! Desta and her team beyond exceeded our expectations for our wedding reception cake and dessert table. We showed them a picture of the type of design we wanted and they clearly redid the picture that we showed them with additional details as we requested. From the time we first had our consultation up until the event it has been a smooth sailing process. We were beyond happy with the results we received and were very pleased we chose Desta and her team to do our cake for our reception. We received so many compliments from our guests not only of how the cake looked but of how good it tasted as well. :) You defiantly pay for what you get and we were happy we chose to spend the extra money and get what we really wanted! I used to love splurging on cupcakes for my family here. Today I bought four different types of cupcakes to celebrate with my parents. Much to my disappointment, ALL FOUR cupcakes were stale, the whip cream/butter cream were ROCK hard, and the fillings were solid hard. I paid $10 for these expecting the soft, spongy, sweet cupcakes I grew up eating. Highly disappointed by the price and crappy cupcakes. I do my best to support local, but sorry, Savemart it is from now own for my sweets. read more

OMG. That's all I can say. Desta's team made a number of treats for our celebration in Lodi that were all to die for! The eclairs, the mini peach pies and the salted caramel chocolate cake were my faves. What's great about Something Sweet, unlike a lot of bakeries, is that the taste is as amazing as the look. read more

It was a real pleasure having Something Sweet do our wedding cake. My wife and I were recently married at Brewster's around the corner earlier this year (March 2022) and it was an incredible stroke of luck that such skilled and thorough bakers are a stone's throw away from where we were having our nuptials. The planning and tasting was fun and informative and we came out of the process with a great end product that was executed perfectly on the day. It was such a relief with all the hustle of bustle of the actual wedding day to see our cake at the venue before we arrived, set out in view, decorated and ready to slice. I would highly recommend Something Sweet for any of your baked sweets needs. You won't be disappointed. read more

I had found a picture on Pinterest of a graduation cake I wanted to get made for my son's college graduation. I showed them the picture, picked the colors and viola! I loved my wedding cake from Something Sweet! The ordering process is easy. Sit down with the baker and sample about a dozen flavors of cake and filling each...the combinations are endless. We went with Pink champagne cake with a blueberry compote and cream cheese filling for the first layer, chocolate with coconut cream for the top layers. They worked with my florist to set up the fresh flowers I wanted on top. The best part is it includes a replica of my top layer on my first anniversary! I'm not a big fan of sweets to start with, and usually will pass on cake because I find it to be dry and overly sweet. However, my wedding cake was moist and delicious! We got several compliments from the guests. I plan on using them in the future for any special occasions. read more

I do not understand why this place does not have more reviews! AMAZING cupcakes. This is my go to place when I am craving something sweet or when I want to send my coworkers and friends into dessert heaven. I have been here on multiple occasions, and I have not been let down. Their staff has been so friendly each time I have visited. It seems like they just keep producing better treats each time. My friends, family, and coworkers all are amazed by the presentation of the cupcakes, dolloped with the perfect ratio of frosting. But the taste is truly up to par, if not better, with presentation. These cupcakes have been hits at potlucks and parties. Absolutely delicious and moist. Their cupcake flavors rotate every now and then, and I still have not been able to try them all. My favorites: Oreo cookie, red velvet with cream cheese frosting, Snickers, strawberry filled...they all may seem like the generic flavors, but you will not be disappointed! On my to-try list: apple pie and smore's cupcakes Tip: do not wait until later in the day to stop by and pick up treats. They run out of flavors faster than you think! Thank you! I'm so grateful for discovering 'Something Sweet Bakery' and even more elated by their work and taste of the cake. I was refereed to Desta by an events company 'Big Bang Events' in Sacramento, that I was working with for my brother and sister-in-laws baby shower. I live in San Francisco and the shower was going to take place in Sacramento. I had to do everything through the phone and email, I let Desta know it was a Alice in Wonderland theme, sent her a few pics of cakes I liked and let her know I didn't want fondant. Desta, sent me a sketch of the cake and said she could do buttercream, the results........one of the most beautiful cakes, I have ever seen, my sister-in-law and the guests didn't want to cut into the cake, they were blown away and the taste was sensational. The best cupcakes EVER! Their chocolate is about the best I have ever had and their other flavors are pretty amazing too! Desta and the crew at something sweet were great! We were blown away at our tasting and ended up deciding to do a whole desert bar for our wedding. They came in and set up during dinner without me even noticing and there wasn't much to clean up afterwards! Everything was delicious! Can't wait for our 1 year anniversary cake! read more

We ordered our wedding cake and 4 flavors of cupcakes for our May 2017 wedding. The cake design was stunning and turned out exactly like I hoped. The flavors were just as amazing. The cake tasting experience was so fun and we left stuffed!!! There was a miscommunication about the cupcakes display but they fixed it the best they could the day of the wedding. It all worked out and none of the guests could tell anything went wrong. Overall the look and taste made up for the display mishap anyways. I highly recommend them!!! read more

Our wedding cake was beautiful and exactly as promised. They were an absolute joy to work with from start to finish. All of the cakes we tried at the tasting were amazing. It was hard to choose. We had already decided to get our wedding cake next month from Something Sweet and we got a surprise cake from my maid of honors mother for our bridal shower, all we had to do was design it. We had both events as Mexican themed events so we just said "Mexican themed" lol (because I lack creativity). We got a call the day before that the design we had went with was too similar to our wedding cake and they wanted to make sure we had something different and unique. I gave them their full creative freedom to design it themselves and they came through with an amazing Mexican themed cake that was different from our wedding cake but just as amazing. This is why I love this bakery, they could have easily just went with it because that would be the easiest way to do it but they insisted on giving us something different. I highly suggest Something Sweet Bakery because they truly care about what they do for their customers. I will always suggest this bakery for anyone looking for a good honest business that is the best in what they do which is to provide custom edible art that tastes as amazing as it looks. Established in 2008.

Something Sweet Bakery is a full service retail cakery boutique that specializes in custom cake flavors and designs for all occasions while offering a wide variety of ready-made gourmet cupcakes, cookies, cake pops, and other sweet treats. Opened in January 2012 by decorator, designer, and owner Desta Stenson Something Sweet Bakery owes its success to the local customers and wedding venues from Sacramento, Stockton, the Bay Area, and everywhere in between. As a native of the Galt/Lodi area, I am proud to open Something Sweet Bakery in the heart of Historical Old Town Galt.

I ordered the breakfast sandwich with spinach and mushroom and a green juice. I also got one of their sugar buns to snack on throughout the drive. Their breakfast sammie was delicious and filling, the perfect road-trip meal. My only suggestion would be to add a few additional substitutes for those of us who don't eat bacon. I devoured the green juice in minutes. This is a must-order for my next visit.

If there were 10 stars to give I would have. I frequent this bakery often, mainly for cupcakes. The variety is great and always consistently fresh tasting. My favorite is the snicker doodle, just the right amount of flavors and moist. The Lemon Blueberry is my other favorite, best lemon cake I've ever tasted, again fresh and moist cupcake. Cost is reasonable a full dozen for $20. Or half dozen for $10. The service is great always top notch, not too mention always clean and inviting. Parking is close. I do wish they had seating inside to enjoy the sweetness instead of waiting till I get home. Great place to go in Galt. read more
