Vegan hummingbird. Look no further for heaven y'all!

We've been patronizing the IOTCC brand for many years. After a light dinner a sweet tooth kicked and off we went in search of today's cupcake treats. My favorite flavors are Hummingbird, Bee Hive, and Pucker Up. Today I planned to get ONE cupcake. But thanks to Kaylene, who told us the cupcakes were BOGO (we arrived 10 mins before closing). So! We got enough for the house, plus some! Caramel Macchiato, Mocha, Carrot, Pucker Up, Vanilla, and Pink Delicious was our winners dozen for the day. Got home and enjoyed the vanilla and I'm so grateful IOTCC hasn't tampered with the recipe. Perfection must be left alone. Thanks again, Kaylene!

I used to LOVE this place but this last time ordering left me a little torn...my cupcakes were nothing to rave about--they weren't even really decorated...I ordered a merry Christmas red velvet and there was nothing special about it...no topper like the Christmas tree one and all the others just seemed like shadows of their former selves. Not sure if that was just today or if this is a permanent change but I miss the cute touches like hearts and drizzles that make the cupcakes feel special. The lemon is still the star. The hot chocolate one literally just tastes like regular chocolate. It was meh. A little dry. They were fine overall just didn't hit the same in terms of visual appeal and flavor. Compare photos below from three years ago v my most recent order. The pink delicious alone explain it all.

The order I paid for. Confetti cupcake and Oreo cookie.

I'm disappointed to give this review. I first tried this place when I was using the app too good to go and with that I would definitely write this place a 4-5 which brings my review today two or three because if it was just today alone, I would rate it one or two. The selection was very minimum . That I could've been OK with however, when I got home, I was really looking forward to trying something delicious. The cookie was an Oreo cookie. I would rate that a zero out of five and the cupcake itself. I would write a one and a half out of five. This is very painful for me to write because the fact that the cupcakes were good when I got them off the other app I decided to go in order on my own and pay full price . If this had been my first experience, I would be very upset . The price for one cupcake and one cookie was over $10. When I got home and I went to taste the cookie, it was hard and stale. I was only home a short time even asked my husband did you leave it open or anything because I was shocked. It was well lit in the business the gal at the front was nice and is the reason for me not giving a 2 star. The selection was very limited all in all I was just very disappointed. It was just a very bad visit. I wasn't too impressed by the inside. It would be nice if it was a place where you could go and sit down, It's almost like a pop-up. .

Do not buy cupcakes from here. Their recipe has changed and they no longer make the deliciously dense cupcakes we've grown to love. Instead they sell these weird overly sweet, spongey tiny cupcakes no better (or bigger) than your average supermarket cupcake. There is nothing defining or outstanding of their current cupcakes, in fact you'll see that they are mostly frosting now. I've stopped coming by to check out their selection because every time I do, I become irrationally angry thinking about how delicious these cupcakes used to be. Not to mention they no longer advertise their daily cupcakes so you just have to take a risk by walking in and getting stuck with something like a gluten free blackberry cheesecake that feels like it's scratching your throat the whole way down. If you want some cupcakes, save yourself some money and just go down to your local Bel Air or Nugget and order yourself a dozen cupcakes for no more than $12/dozen and they'll taste just as good or better.

I have been coming to Icing on the cupcake for years, but not as often lately since I don't get to come to midtown as often as I used to. Although cupcakes aren't the trendy 'viral' sweet that they were about 8 years ago, I'm happy to report that these cupcakes continue to be delicious and worth a visit. I've always been impressed with the flavor and quality of their gluten free items. I tried the gf candy cane and also picked up my favorite gf brown butter coffee cake cupcake. Both were good and the brown butter continues to be my favorite. They offer gluten free and vegan options along with standard cupcakes. The person who helped me was super sweet and made the experience even better. They have flavors they offer daily as well flavors that change depending on the day of the week so check their site if there is a certain flavor you want. My top recs are the brown butter, snickerdoodle, peanut butter and jelly, and the lemon.

Haven't been here in a while...actually it's been since they moved from Alhambra street. Nonetheless, the ambiance is clean and customer service was basic. The cupcakes are still delicious. Although they serve a variety of cupcakes, I typically come for the pb&j cupcakes. They're unique treat and a peanut butter lover's dream.

Tasty cupcakes! Definitely some of the better cupcakes you can get in Midtown for sure. I have gotten a variety of flavors, and my favorite has to be their chocolate salted caramel and classic pinkdelicious. The cake is moist and tender, not crumbly or dry in any way. The frosting is not too heavy or too sweet, which is fantastic. The frosting to cake ration is also great! I appreciate this stores variety of flavors. I have also gotten some orders on Too Good To Go and those have been great too. The cupcakes are still fresh and not old tasting. Give this a try if you are looking to try this spot with not risk! Overall, a tasty option for sure! Give it a try

I ordered a few dozen cupcakes with them for my mom's Vampire Diaries themed bday recently (really long story) and I'm was beyond impressed with them! We got a bunch of different flavors to try and every one of them was fantastic. The woman I spoke with when I ordered was patient while I looked through the options they had (there are a ton of them) and the person that helped me when I arrived was super nice too. I threw a couple of cake toppers on top and these were 100 times better than ordering a regular birthday cake :)

I stopped by the J Street location for a Too Good to Go pickup. Too Good to Go offers customers a surprise bag with at least 4 cupcakes of the store's choice for a reduced price (nearly 75% off). I didn't have much variety, as my box came with two Rocky Road and two Vegan Chocolate Turtle cupcakes. Both were delicious, but I prefer the non-Vegan ones since they weren't as dry. I arrived to pickup on a Friday afternoon, and I was greeted by friendly staff and a case full of fresh cupcakes. Staff asked if I had any allergies before giving me a box with nuts. I appreciated the consideration, which made their customer service stand out. The store is small; however, it's connected to Chicago Pizza. Given the shared space, you can order cupcakes from next door and have them brought over. I would love to come back for pizza and cupcakes of my choice next time! Overall, great first experience.

They are featuring Halloween cupcakes. They are beautifully decorated and yes, taste so good. Red Velvet, Pinkalicious and Confetti. I bought too many. There goes my AC1.

    Raspberry and cinnamon cupcakes

Really liked the icing on these cupcakes. I went towards the end of the day so alot of the cupcakes were already sold out, but still there were at least 6 options left. I chose the raspberry and snickerdoodle/cinnamon cupcake. The raspberry was my favorite it had a nice raspberry filling. I have quite a sweet tooth so I found it to be the perfect amont of sweetness. I would recommend the raspberey cupcake if they have it avaliable. Service was kind. There is nowhere to sit inside the bakery, but it attached to the pizza place next door.

$4/cupcake...not the cheapest but decadent and delicious. All the flavors are good. I was only able to try one but every guest who tried the other flavors gave it rave reviews. I really liked the cake, filling, and frosting on top of their cupcakes. Clean bakery and friendly service. Would definitely order again for parties if I'm in the area.

However, this visit was disappointing because of my interaction with one of the employees. While I was looking at the menu, he came over to help, and I asked a few questions about the salads because I wasn't sure what each one included. Instead of feeling helped, I felt rushed and talked down to. His tone came across as impatient and dismissive, and it made me feel uncomfortable asking simple questions. Everyone is unfamiliar with a menu at some point, and I left that interaction feeling like my questions were an inconvenience rather than something he was happy to help with. The food, on the other hand, was great. The ciabatta sandwich is one of my favorites and is always a reason I come back. The matcha is usually amazing as well. I love how creamy and smooth it normally is with oat milk, and it's honestly one of the best matchas I've had. This time, though, it tasted much grassier and more bitter than usual, which was a little disappointing. For dessert, I tried the strawberry mousse dessert with a chocolate shell and strawberry filling. The mousse and strawberry filling were delicious, flavorful, and not overly sweet. The only part I didn't enjoy was the outer chocolate shell, which was a little too bitter for my taste and overpowered some of the other flavors. Overall, the food was still very good, but the service left a negative impression. I enjoy Estelle's and will likely return, but I hope future visits involve friendlier and more welcoming customer service.

The cherry pastry was a stunner and delicious as well with great flavor and a nice balance of sweetness. In the end, the real standout was the Blueberry Choux. The cream was light and fluffy and it had just the right amount of blueberry flavor. I really liked the texture of the pastry too and how it complimented the fluffy cream. I would definitely order that one again and highly recommend it. The pastries are definitely on the pricey side, but the quality and presentation justify the cost. The interior of the shop was nice and definitely reminded me of patisseries in France. There was plenty of seating available inside but I took my order to go. I'm really glad I finally got to give them a try and while not every item was a home run for me, the Blueberry Choux alone made the visit worthwhile. On my last visit we picked up a couple brownies, a cookie, and one of their savory corn muffins with bacon and jalapeno. All the items are prices well, and are very fresh. I loved the brownies, especially the one with nuts. They're the perfect fudgy texture and while they're a good size, it's hard to stop eating them once you start. I recommend stopping in early for the most variety, they're the type of spot that once they run out of something it's gone for the day, and everything I've tried so far has been delicious.

My boyfriend and I finally had the time to come on a Monday (after the gym lol). We ordered a couple of items to try and I'll tell you I was full after a couple of bites and it carried me for the rest of day. We ordered jalapeño cheddar and classic sausage patty, egg, & cheese biscuit sandwich and biscuit 2 pack: blueberry and brown sugar biscuit. While picking up my boyfriend was recommended the cinnamon roll and he caved and got it! We had our pickup time at 7:30, but we showed up a little early and got our food around 7:20. There was a bit of a wait since there were some people ahead of us, so I'd recommend you going a bit earlier than your time just in case you're in a rush. We headed home to try everything. We really enjoyed the biscuits themselves as they didn't leave a dry or grainy feeling in your mouth. They had a good crust while being airy and light inside. The sandwiches were good, but they were anything crazy. Size wise it is small for the price you get, but I get it. It's all house made and fresh. We definitely think the biscuits themselves are the standout. The blueberry and brown sugar biscuits were a sweet tooth's heaven. The cinnamon roll wasn't too sweet either and had great texture and basically melted in your mouth. I never knew about midtown bakery before midtown biscuits so I would definitely come back to check out their other items, while getting those biscuits!

Some of my favorites: 1. Croissants- all of them lovely... can't miss! 2. Smoke Salmon Tartine- some of my favorite things balanced on top of a yummy toast (roasted carrots, creamy cream spread, daisies, and of course salmon) 3. Red bean sesame cheesecake- sounds crazy, but quite good and I'm not even a fan of red beans 4. Mceggggg- yes, five stars for the "5G" Sando!

I initially parked closer to their kitchen, not realizing there was a main building but they're right across from each other. They have a few self-ordering kiosks, which I guess they prefer customers to use. It kind of seemed like the staff member didn't want to take my order, even though it wasn't busy at all. Their bakery items and brunch menu are on the higher end price-wise, but I think that also aligns with the market and location, so it makes sense. Since it was my first time there, I only ordered a couple of items to try. FOOD REVIEW Morning Bun - 5/5: My kids loved this. It reminded me of Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal, but in pastry form. This was so good. Almond Croissant - 5/5: The croissant itself was airy, super flaky, and really good. My kids also enjoyed this one. The pastries were packaged nicely as well. Overall, the pastries were good, so the price felt worth it to me.

You will also get offers from time to time. The app is easy to use. I ordered the strawberry soft cream cake and a slice of blueberry chiffon cake. Both cakes were very good. They were both fresh, light, and Yummy. The cake came with a cake slicer and in the slicer were some matches. I thought that was very thoughtful and useful. They included some candles, too. Most of the time, I forget those things. It was a nice surprise, they included those things. Wonderful service! It's the thoughtful little things that make a business standout than all the rest. I've tried a variety of their pastries and desserts. They all pretty good. I really like their strawberry cream croissant. I think that one is my favorite. Every time I visit the store, it's clean and the staff are very nice.

Even though they were still open for several more hours, it looked like only about 25% of their usual offerings were available. The item we were most hoping for, garlic croissant, was sold out along with the custard and red bean breads. Part of that is on us for stopping by later in the day and not calling ahead, but I did expect a bit more restocking with so much time left before closing. That said, what we ended up choosing from the remaining selection was still quite tasty. I just wish there had been more variety available.
