Sooo, Icing on the Cupcake wasn't my first choice for cupcakes, but being out of options, I turned here. I had to interact with several people working here - of the four people, one provided good/friendly customer service. They called me the day before my order pick-up date to tell me they didn't have a flavor I ordered weeks in advance. I told them the flavor I'd replace it with and that was that...there was no, "Sorry for the inconvenience" or "Thank you". After all that, the following day, I found out that they didn't make the update, and they wrote on the receipt "two missing". My mom picked up the order for me and when she saw the receipt, she asked them about it. The employee was confused, asked someone else about it, and then said to pick two from the case. So..l guess if my mom didn't say something I'd be out two cupcakes I had paid for? Later, when l opened the box to set up for the party, I saw they gave me the incorrect flavors for two of them. I don't really love paying for something that's not what I wanted. Just as an FYI, they charge your card as soon as you place the order, rather than the day of pick up like many bakeries/food establishments. Too many strikes for this business. I won't be back. I first tried this place when I was using the app too good to go and with that I would definitely write this place a 4-5 which brings my review today two or three because if it was just today alone, I would rate it one or two. I would rate that a zero out of five and the cupcake itself. I would write a one and a half out of five. This is very painful for me to write because the fact that the cupcakes were good when I got them off the other app I decided to go in order on my own and pay full price . If this had been my first experience, I would be very upset . The price for one cupcake and one cookie was over $10. When I got home and I went to taste the cookie, it was hard and stale. Do not buy cupcakes from here. Their recipe has changed and they no longer make the deliciously dense cupcakes we've grown to love. Instead they sell these weird overly sweet, spongey tiny cupcakes no better (or bigger) than your average supermarket cupcake. There is nothing defining or outstanding of their current cupcakes, in fact you'll see that they are mostly frosting now. I've stopped coming by to check out their selection because every time I do, I become irrationally angry thinking about how delicious these cupcakes used to be. Not to mention they no longer advertise their daily cupcakes so you just have to take a risk by walking in and getting stuck with something like a gluten free blackberry cheesecake that feels like it's scratching your throat the whole way down. If you want some cupcakes, save yourself some money and just go down to your local Bel Air or Nugget and order yourself a dozen cupcakes for no more than $12/dozen and they'll taste just as good or better. read more

I've always been impressed with the flavor and quality of their gluten free items. I tried the gf candy cane and also picked up my favorite gf brown butter coffee cake cupcake. I didn't have much variety, as my box came with two Rocky Road and two Vegan Chocolate Turtle cupcakes. Both were delicious, but I prefer the non-Vegan ones since they weren't as dry. I arrived to pickup on a Friday afternoon, and I was greeted by friendly staff and a case full of fresh cupcakes. Staff asked if I had any allergies before giving me a box with nuts. I appreciated the consideration, which made their customer service stand out. The store is small; however, it's connected to Chicago Pizza. Given the shared space, you can order cupcakes from next door and have them brought over. I would love to come back for pizza and cupcakes of my choice next time! This place hands down has some of the best cupcakes in Sacramento! Their flavors are incredible, the cupcakes are always moist, and the frosting is absolutely delicious. It's a small shop with limited seating, but honestly, the quality of the cupcakes makes up for it. Pucker up is my favorite but I am not a fan of lemon filling so I prefer to get the mini ones. I can eat a dozen of the mini ones (we listen, we don't judge). That being said, the biggest downside is how quickly they run out. I went on a Saturday around 5:45 PM, expecting to get cupcakes for dessert since their posted hours says they're open until 8 PM. But when I got there, the door was locked, and a sign said they were out of cupcakes. It was clear they had been out for a while since everything was already cleaned up and packed away. I get that they're popular, but running out so early, especially on a weekend, is really frustrating. If you're planning to visit, I highly recommend calling ahead to make sure they actually have cupcakes available. It's disappointing to drive all the way there only to leave empty-handed during posted business hours. I really think management should work on improving inventory, especially on busy days like Saturdays. It's a shame to lose business this way because their cupcakes are good. My fiancé and I are expecting and wanted to do a small gender reveal with our two kids yet something that still had an element of surprise. Who doesn't love cupcakes especially ones that you can choose from a huge variety from or even customize? We came in to place our order a couple of days before we needed them. I had the results of our gender on my phone but specifically asked the employee to not share with us as it was a surprise. We asked for the filling of each cupcake to be pink for girl and blue for boy. This was totally something they did often and she assured us we could get our cupcake flavors as requested with this "custom" filling. A couple of days later I get a call from Jasmine saying our order wasn't done incorrectly. Their new employee didn't quite process the request as correct as they normally would have done. Rather than saying "we're sorry we can't fulfill your order" she provided two resolutions which I greatly appreciated. Ultimately, they were able to get our order done with no further issues, additional payment, or delays! Now that's some good customer service! We ordered four cupcakes: Death by Chocolate, S'mores, Confetti, and Cookies 'n Cream. They all were absolutely finger licking good! Perfectly baked and moist. Was in the neighborhood when I saw this little shop. Had to go in for some cupcakes. I bought the Pinkdelicious and vegan Hummingbird to take home. They were so good! Still moist and not too sweet. I was surprised that I liked the Hummingbird since I'm not used to tropical flavors, but so glad I bought it. I was able to taste all the flavors that were in each cupcake. I wouldn't recommend keeping them for more than 48 hours since the ones I had began to loose their moisture. However, they transported wonderfully in their individual boxes. They do their own delivery but it was pricey so I was able to order through Door Dash a few days in advanced and schedule delivery.
