    Miso mushroom quiche
    Dennis T.

Hands down, best quiche I've ever had. Tried a slice of the miso mushroom quiche at the Clement st farmers market. It was light and savory, similar to a custard/flan. Even the side salad was good. Can't wait to try the other menu items.

Dear Sonder, open up a restaurant and give the people what they want already. Every so often in life you eat something that makes you feel like you are in the center of the universe and it's all revolving around you. When you eat Sonder's Chicken Bahn Mi nothing else matters except for the space between you and that sandwich. Crispy chicken, toasty bread and nothing but the right mixture of fresh ingredients. There are few earthly things better than this sandwich. Now are you ready for the bad news? Sonder is only traceable through their IG and wherever they pop up. Every Sunday they are supposed to be at the Richmond farmers market. Stop your entire life, forget your family, forget your friends. Don't even brush your teeth. Get on your high horse and get there. Also the quiche is solid. That will be all. (4.9 Stars)

    Chicken leg "banh mi"

Saw a video of their Philly style roast pork sandwich and knew I had to try it. They popup at the clement street farmers market every Sunday so I kept it on my radar and finally made my way over. Sadly when I made my trip they had just changed their menu and were no longer offering the pork Sando, but alas I got the Chicken leg "banh mi" and with one bite, my sadness melted away. Sandwich was fantastic. Bread was nice and crispy, it had a good crunch but without being hard. The chicken was super tender and came in a pretty good portion. And all the other elements added lots of flavor! Would definitely eat this sandwich again. At $18 it was a pretty pricey sandwich, but that seems to be the norm anymore with artisanal sandwiches like this.

One of the best sandwiches I've had! Gets popular during lunch time. It's a busy stand at the Clement farmer's market, and was about a 15 minute wait. Would recommend coming early since a lot of the stuff gets sold out by noon. The meat is all freshly grilled at the BBQ behind the stand. Friendly service. I got the pork sandwich, and it's delicious. The BBQ pork is so rich and dripping with juicy flavor. The bread is the perfect blend of crunchy and soft. I love the chipotle garlic sauce that adds a nice creamy spice. Even the grilled veggies are tender and refreshing. Every bite was amazing, highly recommend.

You can find these guys in San Francisco at the Sunday's farmer market on Clement Street. This particular farmer's market is very lively, and every time I get to eat here is a total treat. Their quiches are absolutely amazing. Pork sando is my next favorite. Their high-quality ingredients and service brings me back. Pic of their prettiest quiche I've had here.

Love them at the Clement street farmers market. Best quiche! The chicken sandwich was bomb. Hot Chocolate wasn't hot enough but it was a pretty cold day.

The sandwiches also sounded unique, so we ended up getting the Willow and Kimchi Chicken. The staff was very helpful and patient with helping us pick. I wasn't sure about the Kimchi, but it was well-balanced with a light kimchi spread. I appreciate the Asian inspired flavors and love supporting a local business. The bread is always fresh and it's a hefty portion ( I always split my sandwich into two). It's generally a quick to go order spot but you might have to wait just a little bit ( under 10 minutes). Right as you enter the store there are also a variety of drinks and sweet treats you can pick up as well. They're only open Friday through Sunday from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., so I finally made the trip out on a Friday and arrived around 9:30 a.m. It was already fairly busy, and it only got more packed while I waited for my order so I would strongly recommend getting there before 9 a.m. or phoning your order in ahead of time. I ordered 4 sandwiches total, and it took somewhere between 30 and 45 minutes for everything to be ready, but both the #2 Special Combo Ham and the #13 Meatball and Egg were absolutely fantastic and well worth the wait. The #2 is how I benchmark a good banh mi, and this place really delivered. The pate was out of this world, the sandwich was piled high with delicious cold cuts, loaded with perfectly pickled veggies and jalapeños, and stuffed into a roll that had the perfect balance of a crisp exterior and pillowy interior. The #13 seemed to be a popular choice as well and for good reason. It had all the same great attributes as the #2, but with the pate and cold cuts replaced by a sweet and savory crumbled meatball paired with a perfectly soft boiled egg. It was every bit as satisfying and delicious and had such a different flavor profile to the #2, which I really appreciated. It is not in the best neighborhood and the hours are painfully tight, especially if you want to avoid a long wait, but the end product is absolutely worth it, in my opinion. And at $6 to $7 per sandwich, the value is still a good value, even if it is a far cry from the $4-6 range that it seemed to hover in for a long time.

I've had their Spicy Hog, steak with mushroom, a few Cubans, but the one that I always come back to is "The Balls" sandwich. First off, this sandwich is massive, so be sure that you come here on an empty stomach. These beef meatballs are seasoned to perfection and bursting with flavor. The balls are covered in their red sauce with provolone and Grana Padano, which gives it that nutty and salty flavor that pairs extremely well with the meatballs and baguette. All the juices and cheese just get soaked up to perfection. The baguette bread they use is supplied by La Farine, which is just a few meters away from each other. Just putting out there that La Farine is hands down one of the best bakeries in Oakland, so it makes sense that this sandwich would be so dang good. I'll be honest that I'm not a big fan of the chips or those chips in general and could be fine with just the sandwich. If you are going to have any sandwich to eat here first, I would highly recommend you try "The Balls" because I promise you will not be disappointed. I will always say that the dozen or so times I've been here, the staff are always so friendly, and the atmosphere is very down to earth. The price of their sandwiches is in the $20 range, but the quality and portion make it totally worth it.

Don't come in solo expecting a side table.

Amazing Service and the best Pastrami Sandwich I've ever had. Will definitely be coming back soon!!!read more

Want a free sandwich?…read more Complete this puzzle and it's all yours! The pastrami sandwich here is sooooo good I actually ordered two of them. This is the first place in the world that had me eating rye. I hate rye bread, and was worried because there are no substitutions, but the sandwiches here were so good and the bread didn't taste like the traditional prison food hard rye bread. You changed me Krispy Joe's, and had me eating stuff I never would have. Also, drinking stuff I never would have. I bought their chai and lemonade, both were 5 stars, and they offered me their pickle juice electrolyte drink to try. I was skeptical at first, but again they made me a believer. I hate pickle juice and pickle flavored anything in general. Yet, they converted me once again when they offered me a sample of their pickle-aid. It tasted like a mild tasting plain Gatorade. If I were still training for a marathon, I would totally buy this! Back to their amazing sandwiches. They are made with such care, dusting every sandwich that's made to order with their secret spices while toasting the meat and bread. The slaw was fresh and herbaceous. Again, made with care and craftsmanship. I am rooting for this business to expand and take over Ike's Sandwiches. I believe in you Krispy Joe's, you have my vote!

On a random weekday afternoon around 3pm, I decided to walk here and holy cow it was packed! The place is very small so you kinda have to snake around in a tiny line. I ordered a tuna avocado sandwich, an ultimate, a pastrami, and a turkey. The tuna avocado was amazing! So juicy and they gave two huge spoonfuls. The turkey was so thick and juicy. I can see why this is rated #1. The ultimate was amazing as well. The pastrami I did not like. It tasted like regular roast beef. Each sandwich is ginormous, easy the size of your forearm but thicker (I have skinny arms, so maybe my arm x2)? One sandwich is enough for 3-4 meals for me, that's how big they are. The bread is soft on the inside with just the right amount of texture on the outside, creating the perfect foundation for a truly exceptional sandwich. Every ingredient tastes like it was selected with care, from the meats and cheeses to the vegetables and condiments. What really separates Little Lucca from other sandwich shops is the incredible balance of flavors. Every bite delivers a combination of savory meats, crisp vegetables, rich cheeses, and their famous garlic sauce that ties everything together beautifully. The flavors are bold without being overwhelming, and each ingredient complements the others perfectly. It's the kind of sandwich that keeps you thinking about it long after you've finished eating. One of the most impressive things about Little Lucca is the portion size. In a time when many restaurants seem to be shrinking portions while raising prices, Little Lucca does the exact opposite. Their sandwiches are enormous. When you pick one up, you immediately notice the weight of it. These are not small, skimpy sandwiches with a few slices of meat hidden between large pieces of bread. Little Lucca loads their sandwiches generously, giving customers tremendous value for their money. The amount of meat and toppings in each sandwich is remarkable. Every bite is packed with flavor and substance. You never feel like you're eating mostly bread. Instead, you're getting a perfectly stacked sandwich filled with premium ingredients from end to end. It is clear that customer satisfaction is a priority because the portions consistently exceed expectations. Another thing worth mentioning is the consistency. Many restaurants can make a great meal once or twice, but maintaining that quality over time is what separates good establishments from great ones. Little Lucca has built a reputation that spans decades, and after visiting, it's easy to understand why. They have mastered their craft and continue to deliver outstanding food that keeps customers returning again and again. The atmosphere also contributes to the experience. There is something special about walking into a place that has become a community favorite. You can see families, workers on lunch breaks, longtime regulars, and first-time visitors all enjoying the same exceptional food. The staff works efficiently and keeps things moving while maintaining a friendly and welcoming attitude. Perhaps the most memorable aspect of Little Lucca is how satisfying the sandwiches are. Some meals leave you hungry shortly afterward, but that is definitely not the case here. These sandwiches are substantial, filling, and incredibly satisfying. Whether you're stopping by for lunch, grabbing dinner, or picking up food for a gathering, you can count on receiving a meal that delivers both quality and quantity. The famous garlic sauce deserves special recognition. It adds a unique flavor profile that elevates an already outstanding sandwich to another level. It is rich, flavorful, and distinctive without overpowering the ingredients around it. Many customers consider it an essential part of the Little Lucca experience, and after trying it, I completely understand why. Overall, Little Lucca is everything a great sandwich shop should be. The ingredients are fresh, the flavors are exceptional, the portions are massive, and the overall experience is consistently excellent. In a region filled with dining options, Little Lucca continues to stand out because it focuses on doing one thing extraordinarily well: making unforgettable sandwiches. If you appreciate generous portions, high-quality ingredients, and flavor-packed sandwiches that leave a lasting impression, Little Lucca is a destination that should be at the top of your list. It is more than just a sandwich shop--it is a Bay Area institution that has earned its reputation one incredible sandwich at a time. After my visit, I can honestly say that Little Lucca serves some of the most exquisite, flavorful, and satisfying sandwiches I have ever had.
