    Catering dishes of yummies!

I've visited their food truck a few times and am surprised I haven't written about how good Song La is! Each time I've gone the food has always left me feeling full and happy! My favorite is their Taiwanese chicken bits and their pork belly and rice, but honestly they are a bit of a drive for me after they moved to Thicket park. However, my friend had the genius idea to cater from them for her party and reminded me just how good they were. It left quite the impression as I loved it so much that we actually catered from them for our party! Y'all if you are looking for something a little different than your typical pizza offerings, this was a fan favorite! I am sure there are multiple ways to order but I did it via messenger on Instagram. The replies were very speedy, communication very clear, and they were easy to work with. I told them what I wanted, they sent over the invoice to be paid via link, and my order was ready at the agreed upon time. Even after traveling about an hour the chicken bits were still crispy/not soggy, and the pork super tender, flavorful, and just yummy especially the rice that had extra time to soak up all the flavors! Overall I was extremely happy with my experience and know this won't be my last! Thank you again Song La!

Absolutely delighted with the portion/price! Ordered through DD so I can't speak on the service but everything was packed securely. That root beer was disgusting lol it taste like root beer candy lol I have tried the melon one yet; I'll be back for that one tho once I try it. Definitely wanna try more of the menu items for sure!

Song La is a beloved food truck that used to be near UT campus and has now relocated to Thicket Park. I was craving their chicken bites and it did not disappoint even after all these years! Their chicken is fried to perfection and has great flavor - the fried basil is a great touch. It comes with plenty of rice and their food is always cooked to order. The park has a lot of flies, but I guess what can you expect in an outdoor space where there's food. Plenty of tables to eat at and a decent amount of parking available.

Back in Houston, but I can't stop thinking about the Taiwanese popcorn chicken from Song La! Sooo good!!

It's been awhile since we've ordered from Song La, one of my favourite food trucks. Since they moved away from UT campus to deep South Austin, it's a bit of a challenge to go now. Fortunately we were recently in the area, so of course had to order our go-tos - the Chicken Bites & the Braised Pork Belly Bento Box. Our boxes were hefty and packed to the brim with insanely tasty Asian comfort food. Prices were very reasonable AND we had enough left over for another meal. Song La has consistently dished out affordable, authentic Taiwanese fare for many years. They deserve every one of their five stars.

DELICIOUS! I stopped by lunch / placed my order online and was ready when I got here and very hot and fresh. Got the chicken bites box - comes with rice, sauce and pickled radish which were surprisingly amazing too and paired great with the fried chicken! Overall super impressed - the chicken had incredible flavor and the portion size is great for around $10! Service was quick - placed my order online and was ready in less than 20 minutes! The food truck park is super cute and has plenty of other trucks too - even has restroom trailer - so nice!!

Highly recommend Song La's popcorn chicken! The food truck used to be located close to campus, but you can find it now in South Austin within Thicket Food Park. We came on a Saturday afternoon and live a bit farther, so the timing was tight and initially we thought we didn't make it. However, the owner was super kind and generous with making our order even though it was close to closing. After we finished our food, the owner came out with her family and we were just chatting a bit about her experience starting/running the food truck, which was wonderful to hear about. It was pretty quiet since most of the other shops had closed up for the day, but there were a lot of children's toys and interesting decorations to look at. The food park also has a good amount of space with picnic tables/seating. Chicken Bites ($14.99, 5/5) - Super crunchy, juicy, and delicious! The basil was nice and crisp and the sweet/tangy sauce paired great with the chicken. - Great portion size Overall this location is a bit farther but the owner is wonderful and the popcorn chicken is authentic and delicious! Totally worth checking out.

I love Song La so much. It's so nostalgic for me since my college days. Chef is always so sweet and hardworking. Portion sizes are enough to last me for a couple of days and even days later the food is still soooo good. I try to make a stop every time I visit Austin. A real gem.

There are few places in Austin where you can get authentic Taiwanese food, and Song La is one of them! Taiwanese popcorn chicken is one of my favorite versions of fried chicken. They execute this dish so well. The box portion is generous. Their food is delicious, warm, and comforting. The owner was so nice! She even threw in an extra egg for me and apologized for the wait even though we weren't waiting that long for our food! I recommend arriving early because some of the menu items were sold out. Parking at the Thicket Food Park can also be a bit tight.

Delicious, fresh, authentic Taiwanese flavors! Perfect food truck to kick off our Austin vacation. The chicken was tender, juicy & perfectly battered. I would highly recommend ordering online to skip the line! Will definitely be back when I'm in the area.

Popcorn chicken was very delicious. Very crispy and flavorful. The basil on top and the steam rice makes such a great combination. Loved it...

Best Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken I've ever had. As a Taiwanese, I didn't expect to find such amazing taiwanese food...in Austin, TX of all places! But this truck will not disappoint. Not only are portion sizes good, the prices are extremely reasonable! The owner is kind and amiable, and also Taiwanese, so you know you're getting authentic Taiwanese cuisine by dining here. She's extremely friendly and you can tell she makes the food from her heart. As for Thicket Food Park, it is very kid-friendly, with a playground in the middle, and lots of small toddler toys. Great place for families as well.

It looked like they expanded their menu since the last time we ate here. We opted for a Shoyu Beef Ramen Soup and a Hot Pot Beef Noodle Soup. We grabbed our water cups and a carafe filled with iced water from their beverage fridge, and chose our table to sit at. We chose a location away from the front entrance, which faces west towards the sun. Our food was quickly brought out to us less than 5 minutes later, and our soups were very good. They have a very spicy broth for their Hot Pot Noodle Soup, which P2 really enjoyed. I was also happy with my shoyu ramen, which I thought was seasoned perfectly. The music here wasn't loud and it was easy to carry a conversation. The interior aesthetics of this place reminded me of a Japanese restaurant, despite this restaurant servicing Taiwanese fare. Unfortunately, they don't sell alcohol here. I would have loved to drink a beer here with its solid vibes. I took off a star because of the blinding sunlight that pours into the space. Each time we came, we had to be strategic on where we sat so that we or our friends didn't have to face the sun. But other than that, Noodly Alley continues to be a reliable choice for authentic Taiwanese food.

Pretty disappointing, I'd much rather have my sister's over these. Beef noodle soup was meh. Nothing special. Broth was very simple, like they just added salt and that's it. Meat was cooked very well. My soup came with 1 piece of lettuce, weird.. Lamb noodle soup was the same as the beef noodle soup; it did come with the black fungus, seaweed, tofu, and some vermicelli clear noodles, along with their handmade noodles. Made sense why it was only $13.95 for the noodle soups. It's reasonably priced probably due to not being authentic, though, I wouldn't pay more than $10. They had handmade noodles, which many people do like. However, their noodles were very bland, along with their soup. I didn't find anything special here either.
