This place is amazing! From the time you walk in and sit and eat everything is right on time. When you walk in your always greeted with friendly staff. They take good care of you and the food is amazing. The veggie soup and just every dish is amazing. I promise you want be disappointed. I highly recommend. I will and go back often. The place is clean and quick service and they take care of your every needs. They also have a bar area if you choose to eat or have some cocktails in the bar. While traveling through the area a co-worker told me I should try this Thai food restaurant that has a craft beer bar in it...wait what?! That of course got my attention and I was quick to hunt the place down once in the area. Using the front door, you walk into a regular Thai restaurant lobby. To your left is a dining area that looks a whole lot like every other Thai restaurant I've been to. To the right though, is a doorway that leads into a craft beer bar. I went right. Sat at the bar top and the bartender was very friendly and quick to grab me a food menu. There isn't a beer menu because, as he explained, they rotate through new beers so often they couldn't keep up on print. The far wall was one long bank of beer coolers to choose from. Every brand you can think of and plenty you've never heard of were available by the bottle. At the bar itself, they also had about 10 or so beers available on tap. Not feeling like a beer? They've got a full bar to boot. I ordered the Pad Thai since it's my usual go to dish for comparison. I had the option of selecting how spicy I wanted it. 0-5 and I went with 3. The bowl came out and the portions were very generous. Pad Thai itself was very good and the spice at 3 left my tongue thrumming with heat but not so much I as coughing and gulping water. Great spicy Thai food and great craft beer. I don't know why I didn't think of it before, but they're a match made in heaven. Highly recommend visiting this place for the food and the beers alike. Average at best for Thai food. Went here with my family and ordered a bunch of things to try out a la family style. Ordered chicken larb and Thai beef salad for appetizers. They need to go easy on the salt and fish sauce. Both were so salty and tasted the same. I'm guessing they used the same sauce for both dishes. The Thai beef salad used some chewy, overcooked flank steak also. FAIL! For our entrees, we ordered the Masaman curry (Coconut milk, potatoes, onions, carrots and whole peanuts) with beef, pad thai (Stir fried rice noodles with egg, green onion, bean sprouts and crushed peanuts) with chicken, and Kee Mao (drunken noodles: Stir fried rice noodles with onion, cabbage, carrot, sweet basil, bell peppers and Thai peppers) with seafood. The curry tasted watered down with barely a hint of flavor. The infamous overcooked chewy flank steak makes it return here in the curry. Overcooked beef makes me cry :( The pad thai was decent at least and tasted like pad thai I've had at other Thai restaurants. I enjoyed the drunken noodles even though there were barely any seafood. I think there was like a few shrimps, some squid and like one scallop. The only thing I would come back for is the pad thai and drunken noodles if was in the area again. read more

Honestly, this is the best Thai food that I've had anywhere. I lived in Houma about 5 years ago, and any time I'm in the area, I stop here. Been eating there 2-3 times a month for years and today my wife and I decided to never go back. For about two years the price has been rising and the portions have been getting smaller. Today I picked up our food and my pad see ew was half empty (of the already much smaller containers they give now) and though they gladly charged me for extra broccoli I had a total of 6 pieces of broccoli in the container. I gave them 2 stars because the food is still good its just rediculous that we get the same thing every time and we never know how much we'll get or how much it will cost. read more

I'm kind of torn on what kind of review to write. The service was mediocre. The delivery of food was slow. The food was SO SALTY. But underneath all that salt I could tell it had good flavor. It was so salty that your mouth almost turned inside out after taking a bite. All except one of their dishes can be made vegan. (I can't remember which one.) Our waitress told us that to make it vegan they add soy sauce instead of fish sauce. I wonder if this is why our food was unbearably salty. It seems to me that any cook would know how salty soy sauce is, so I suspect the food was over salted to begin with. We had the drunken noodles and the masaman curry. read more

I don't know what in the world this place is, but it is not "Thai". Some back woods Houma version of Thai. The pad Thai was absolutely disgusting. It was so oily we couldn't stomach it. My friend couldn't get past the second bite because of the fish oil. When we told our waitress she looked shocked. My friend couldn't eat her dish because of the quality and taste but yet was still made to pay for her dish. Never again. read more

The waiter was excellent, described and suggested the entrees perfectly, The food was veeery delicious and it was the perfectly spicy. I had the ginger sauce entree, it's vegan friendly, no beef or chicken stock, I had it with extra veggies and the rice, the only thing I did not like was that the potato slices in it seemed to be from the oriental veggie bag from walmart, if you know the one I'm talking about, and the "crunchyness" on them were unnatural and didn't feel like fresh potatoes, but that didn't prevent me from enjoying the delicious food, I just didn't eat them . read more

Song Phi Nong has been a revelation in this small Louisiana town. The service was outstanding. You would have to travel all the way to New Orleans before you found a better stocked beer fridge. The real star however was the food. We enjoyed both the Fresh Roll and Crab Puffs as appetizers. Delicious with the perfect complimentary sauces. Yes all dishes come out of the kitchen with some spice, but this is real Thai food not a watered down American version. Pad Thai was unique in appearance and texture but had that familiar mixture of spice and sweet that makes it a great dish. Drunken Noodles were also excellent and I ordered it with a spice level 3 out of 5 and was mildly tantalized (next time I can move up to a 4). Interior was clean but not fancy and had a warm, welcoming vibe. Again the service was excellent and we felt comfy even after the neon Open sign was extinguished. Good fresh Thai food. For starters, I had the spring rolls which were crisp and the dipping sauce was very tasty. The vegetable stir fry had a good variety of veggies in a tasty spicy broth. This was my first time having Thai food and, I have to say, it was incredible! Started with dumplings, satay, crab puffs, and chicken wings. I honestly could not pick a favorite out of the four appetizers. All were very good. The chicken wings were very not soggy like most chicken wings you get. They were very fresh and crispy. The sauce was sweet and spicy and complimented the chicken very well. The dumplings were mouth watering. The crab puffs were perfectly prepared and very rich in flavor. The satay was phenomenal. The grilled chicken was accompanied by a house made peanut sauce and cucumber salad that matched perfectly. We had the Song Phi Nong fried rice and the Pad Thai for our entrees. The Pad Thai blew me away. The noodles were so good. We added the second spice level to the dish and it put it over the top. The Song Phi Nong fried rice was excellent. The best fried rice I have ever eaten. The portion was huge and I had plenty left over for a snack that night and lunch the next day. We added the second spice level to the rice also and did not regret it. The meat and shrimp in the rice were cooked to perfection. This is not your normal everyday rice. This fried rice is on another level. Let's be honest, Song Phi Nong is on another level. Everyone needs to go to Song Phi Nong and eat. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!! read more

I have been on the lookout for a decent Thai place since moving to Houma and I have to say, Song Phi Nong may have become my regular spot. The restaurant is very simple, with little care for ambiance... to me, this means "focus on the food, not on the mood", amiright? We started out with some spring rolls that were very good. They were a little on the small side, but were pretty tasty. When you order, you can choose your spicy level of 1(mild) through 5(hot). The server says she usually recommends going with a 2 for your first time (unless you don't like spicy). Per the server's suggestion, I tried the vegetable yellow curry (coconut milk, potatoes, onions, carrots). I ordered this at a 3 and it was perfect. The first few bites I thought I could go with a 4, but the heat slowly built up as I spooned more of the tastiness into my face. If I were going to order it for take out, I'd probably try the 4... but I'm not brave enough to go there in public. We also ordered the Pad Thai at spice level 3. The noodles weren't as dry as I am used to at other establishments, but I enjoyed them. There was egg, onion, bean sprouts and crushed peanuts in the dish, mixed at a good ratio. The service was great. We were given helpful information about the menu when asked and our water glasses were never empty. Everyone was very friendly, even though we showed up about 30 mins before they closed. There is a bar adjacent to the dining room. It looks like a cool little hang out with some great beer options, but we didn't do much scoping out there... I was hungry. And now I am hungry again for some Song Phi Nong. read more

Best Pad Thai I've ever had, hands down. I've been to all the big cities, asian populated communities, who knew it's actually in Houma. Their level 3 spice is plenty spicy for someone who doesn't like it spicy. I asked for more on the side just as a preference. Pad Thai noodles perfectly cooked- not too soggy or dry. For my first visit, I had the pad Thai and house fried rice. The rice was loaded with meat and the pad Thai was very well flavored and spiced (level 4, very spicy). The only thing I didn't love was the taste of the shrimp. In Houma, I'd hope they use fresh Gulf shrimp, but whatever was in the house fried rice just didn't taste good. The beef was excellent, though. I've been back a couple times since, getting the pad Thai each time. The fresh rolls are standard fare, as are the spring rolls. read more

There are not many great restaurants in Houma, but I would rate this place as one of the top 5 restaurants in Houma. I've literally probably been to this place over 50 occasions, and I have never, ever been anything other than pleasantly pleased. My two favorite dishes are Pad Thai with Beef and Pad Won Sen with Shrimp. Spice level 3 is just the perfect amount of heat for me. The levels range from 1 (not so hot) to 5 (painstakingly hot, which I've never tried, by the way.) Always remember to finish with a Thai Tea. It is the perfect balance to the most of the spicy dishes. read more

Happy because I enjoy Thai cuisine and hesitant because history tells me it won't be any good. And history is known to repeat itself. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that a craft beer bar could be paired with a Thai food restaurant. I was drawn in by the craft beer but I stayed (and returned the next night) for the Thai food which was served to me at the bar. I recommend the curry (green or red) or pad thai.
