Went to Radcliff which has a lot of fast food, so I used Yelp to find someplace new to eat. I was very happy to find Song's Restaurant and hubby said it was his favorite meal he'd ever had out in that city! Don't go expecting fancy, fine dining decor, but it was spotless and I became enamored with their semi-transparent pull-down shades that had pretty flowers or serene scenes on them to hide the fact that the view out the windows isn't the best. They even had potted orchids in some of the windows and two of them were in bloom! The people who work there are friendly, welcoming and helpful with their menu items. It was nice that they didn't Americanize the Korean food and kept the food choices authentic. We started off our meal with assorted sides that were both yummy and colorful. They truly whet your appetite for what is to come. You absolutely cannot go wrong with the Dolsot Bibimbap - vegetables, beef, rice with an egg on top which comes served in a very hot stone bowl which keeps your food the proper temperature until the last bite. In fact, the bowl is so hot that you probably should stir your food around a little if you don't like your rice to get a little crispy. That different type of texture actually adds to your enjoyment though. My mom got Champong - udon noodles, shrimp, mussels, vegetables served in a delectable broth. Bulgogi is my jam!! Song's has the best bulgogi in Hardin county! This gem in Radcliff may look small to due to limited parking spaces in the front of the restaurant. However there is more parking in the back and plenty of seats and a private party room. Pick your own seating style and awesome staff( that if you can't quite pronounce it, if you point at it they know). I always come for bulgogi and kimchi. Tonight was no different on what I wanted, my boyfriend and I got the bulgogi entrees and an a order of kimbap. The wait for our food wasn't long at all. When she first brought out our food, we didn't get the rice right away and thought we forgot to order it. She brought out the rice bowls shortly after that thought. It's been a good minute since I had bulgogi, so I dug in. The tender steak pieces were smothered in broth and vegetables. The rice hot and just the right stickyness. The vegetables were a bit different, but had the right kind of spicy on 2 of them and the white one which I believe is a radish was more of a sweet tangyness. The kimbap always delicious and fresh, however a couple of slices weren't cut all the way through. I unraveled a couple of rolls just trying to get the one. Still delicious, did not stop me from eating or ruin the dinner. There was nothing left on the table, we ate ever single bite. I absolutely love this place! I always get the Kim chi jigae, bi bim bap, or japchae. Their food is consistently great and I usually eat there once every 2 weeks or so. The inside isn't fancy at all but the service is great. They really take care of their customers. When I walk in, one specific server recognizes me and yells to the kitchen, "kim chi jigae to go." I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for good Korean food. read more

I'm from Los Angeles which means that I've had plenty of access to great Korean food. So it is great to be able to experience Korean food like this in Kentucky. The service is typical of most Korean restaurants, however the flavor and taste of the Korean and dishes that I've tried we're surprising in a very positive way. It is very similar to something you would taste if you went to a create household who had a grandmother the cooked excellent Korean food. Needless to say, I will visit this place again when I am in town. I tried to the bulgogi, rice cake soup with dumplings, the spicy rice cake appetizer, and jjampong. All were above average to excellent. When we were leaving the ladies brought out a dish of Kalbi and it smelled amazing. I guess I'll be having that the next time. read more

This is the hidden gem in the Radcliff area... the food is unlike anything you have ever tasted. Korean food is hard to describe but it is very flavorful. I would recommend starting with the bulgogi, which is like a rich beef or pork barbecue. For a light meal try their soups. Rich and flavorful is the order of the day. They do have great appetizers as well. The wait staff is very patient and they will take the time to explain what everything is. I have many Korean friends who swear that this is the closest to the home cooking their moms and grandmas cook. Make sure you pay attention to their opening hours. On the weekends if you are coming from Louisville, please call first. Radcliff is known for rolling up the sidewalks early on the weekend, especially on Sunday. read more

We're originally from Vegas, so we are VERY spoiled with yummy asian cuisine. I was pretty apprehensive to try this place since I'm a little bias. We ordered take out on a rainy day for my family. My kids shared the bulgogi plate, my husband got the bibimbap, and I got the duk mondu gook, the beef dumpling soup. Brought the food home, I live less than 10 minutes away. When I got home, the food was still piping hot. The beef dumpling soup was delicious, very filling but not so heavy. I finished the entire serving. The kids ate all of their bulgogi and rice. The only complain about the bibimbap was that there wasn't a lot of meat. But my husband stole some bulgogi meat to make up for it. We'll be back, we'll try dining in next time but over all I'm very happy with the take out experience we had! A must try if you're in the area! read more

It's a diamond in the rough. They have traditional Korean food along with a few additions. It reminds me of actually being in Korea. I also enjoy the fresh fruit for dessert. We made a side trip to Radcliff to go to a shop my wife wanted to see. We asked the clerk to recommend a restaurant. She said if you like Korean food to go to Song's. Well, half of the Chinese places in Chicago are Korean-owned, so I figured worst case my wife could get something like General Tso and I might get a chance to get some Korean BBQ. Well, wrong on both counts, and that's ok because what we ended up with was way better! This must be authentic, because I had not heard of any of these dishes, outside of Crab Rangoon, which was good. So were the egg rolls - and I devoured the kimchi platter. My wife loved her Japchae which is beef with garlic, vegetable and glass noodles, a great dish for newbies to Korean cuisine. I had the Stone Japchae, which was basically the same dish made into a soup. If you live here, good job watching over our gold reserves, and one good thing about living here is that you get to go to Song's anytime you want. Enjoy! read more

I've eaten here a handful of times, and each time the service was fast and the food was delicious! I love the stone bulgolgi, a beef dish served with veggies, glass noodles, and broth in a hot pot with a side of white rice. It's perfect comfort food. The crab rangoons, yaki mandus, and kimbap are all also delicious! I have tried the dolsot bibimbap, but found it quite dry. However, it is very likely that I was not eating it correctly. I found out later that you are supposed to pour sauce over it and stir it all up. I think it would be helpful if the staff provided some instructions on how to eat the meal the traditional way in order for it to be enjoyed properly. I'm sure one just needs to ask, I am just too shy :) I've seen many people get take-out but I have not tried that yet. I have housemates who find the liberal use of garlic too strong, but I very much enjoy it. If you haven't had Korean food, or are looking for something new, Song's Restaurant is definitely worth a try! read more

I took my mother to lunch at Song's across the road from Walmart. Nothing fancy on the outside or the inside, but clean and friendly. The tables and chairs or booths seemed relatively new. The shades on the windows were pictures of nature--nice touch. The menu was nice and easy to read with descriptions of the Korean food, which is helpful. The prices are very reasonable with dinner entrees starting at $11.99 and lunch specials from $8.99 up from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. The menu offers appetizers, soups and a childs menu. I got the lunch special of Bulgoki, rice and sides for $8.99. The serving sizes are plentiful and appealing. The service and food are very good. By 12:00 the place was packed. So I walked up to the desk and ask her if I should see myself she said yes I sat down she came asked me what I wanted to drink and what I wanted to eat and hadn't even given me a menu. I had always heard about how good this place was , but never tried it . One day a co-worker brought me here for lunch . She recommended the shrimp fried rice . I tried it and LOVED it . Went back the very next day and had the shrimp fried rice for dinner . The egg rolls are great as well . A little spicy , but if you like spice you'll be ok . If you get take-out, make sure to ask them for kimchi so you can enjoy with your meal at home. They do have lunch specials during the weekday, which are not expensive and you get your food fast. Sometimes it's better when you do NOT have much to say about a place. My wife wanted Korean and this restaurant had glowing reviews from her friends we now see why. Excellent service and most importantly delicious tasting food. Our food was out mere minutes after our appetizer was complete and the server never let our drinks get empty.
