slowest drive through i've ever experienced, waited for 30 minutes with 2 cars and all i got was a corn dog and tots and a drink.

My mom went to sonic on her lunch break, she went to the drive-through and was waiting behind a car for almost 10 minutes. She asked nicely to the lady in front have you ordered yet? She said no I've been here a while. So my mom drove around the front and asked if they were open so she could order and a boy said "no" rudely and ignored her immediately after. This Sonic has definitely gone down throughout the past few years. The employees are very disrespectful. They need to learn their communication and customer service skills. When going up to a drive-through you expect someone to say hello how can I help you? Or something of that extent. Everyone knows this even not working in the fast food industry. Ordered mozzarella sticks did not receive marinara sauce (receipt says it was in bag), did not receive straws for drinks or utensils for my chili tots. Sonic has gone down in both taste and quality over time. The food is either burned or too crispy. The chicken bbt strips are placed in a container with minimal bbq sauce and they expect your to dip your chicken and get it all even with bbq sauce instead of them mixing in a bowl and doing that for you. It seems the only good thing here that remains descent is the ice cream. Service has done down as well and it's much slower than ever. The area surrounding this sonic is descent my safe to be at night time with family but would recommend going through the drive through instead of being in your car. All in all sonic should just stick to selling drinks and ice cream shakes. read more

Hungry on the way home and wasn't sure if I wanted Wendy's or Sonic ....something quick and easy. I chose to go to sonic today to get a grilled chicken sandwich but I was given a breaded chicken sandwich. I wanted to try that philly because I was sooo hungry & it looked good. It came out cold. The cheese on top of it looks and felt like it came right from the fridge. I received those items and waited for my drink. The kid opens the window and asked what I needed and I reminded him my drink that went with the meal. He laughs and goes I'm sorry I'm pretty high. He didn't even give me a receipt to see his name and or what they rung in. Each night/weekend they have a ton of kids all over, racing cars etc. The customer service is almost always lacking. It's great for these young kids to have jobs but, they definitely need to be trained a lot better. read more

Funny story, I ordered a bacon green chile burger and when I got home, my burger had no meat in it. When I took my pattyless burger back, the staff seemed perplexed and unapologetic and the way the "manager" was checking my receipt made it seem as if I was at fault. I did point out that I had no say and that I was totally hands off during the construction of said burger. When I got back home, I did check the burger for any extra or unwanted sauces and thankfully, there were none. Love Sonic! Employees are always friendly and my dog gets treats at the drive through. We usually just come for drinks. $.99 before 10 and 1/2 price 2-5. Its incredible busy during happy hour. Third time this has happened to me here. Maybe one other car on the lot, order my food, watch their food tracker on the screen. It eventually changes to "Dalton is on the way with your order" and I wait, and wait, and wait, and wait, twenty minutes, maybe more. Finally press the red button and ask where my order is, " oh, it'll be right out" and I wait, and wait, and wait. As it goes, Sonic is almost as commonplace as Starbucks, especially in Albuquerque. I had never been to a Sonic Drive-In prior to moving to Albuquerque but find myself drawn to them whenever I'm home and whenever I come across another in other places. Typical fast-food is served up in your car (unless, like me, you can recall a time when you were sans car and in high school and actually walked up to an ordering box and ate on the lone picnic table in front), which is nice because you don't have idle in line for the drive-thru. So I may still be lazy and fat but at least I'm saving some exhaust for later. Hamburgers, thick-sliced toast sandwiches, burritos, and tater tots are the food fare. What I get most excited about are the drinks. Ocean Water? Cherry limeade? Diet coke with strawberry? You name it, they'll add the syrup for you. There's also a myriad of ice cream-based desserts, of which I'm most delighted by the chocolate malt. This particular Sonic location is the THE place to be seen in the Heights if you have any inclination towards "pimping" you car. Right off Montgomery, the popular cruise strip, you'll see a myriad of car modifications if you happen to visit at night on a weekend. Which, I suppose, is an upgrade from the Taco Cabana. read more

Seriously disgusted with this place. I remember when sonic had the appeal of In and Out, you wanted to go, and if there wasn't one in your city you would drive hours to go there...... I was very disappointed with my visit to Sonic on Montgomery. I have gone there for year. Tonight I sat in line for over 40 minutes and my order was totally wrong and what I did get was just tosses in the bag. I ordered onion rings and got chili cheese fries tossed in the bag all down on the bottom of f the container with the fork put inside where the fries were. I ordered a large drink and got a medium. Went half an hour before closing and sat in like for 30 minutes, get to the menu screen ready to order and they say "sorry were closed" so I told them I waited in line for 30 minutes, asked to speak with a manager and they continued to ignore me. Every other sonic when there gonna close will go behind the last person in line and let them finish and then won't let anybody else, they will go behind the last car and place a cone. There was only like 6 cars infront of me, they're always slow and have bad customer service. For being one of the busiest Sonics in Albuquerque you would think they'd be faster and have better employees but they're horrible. Sonic in New Mexico or very common. In California or really hard to find. So I was very excited going on their drive thru. I order the cheese burger combo and they actually have really good prices. I didn't have time to sit in the car so I took in home. I didn't know they put onions on their burgers so that was my only complain. The onion rings were good too. COUNT YOUR CHANGE!!!! These carhops do not have change making skills. Been here 4 times and my change has been wrong all 4 times. If your bill is for example $12, I imagine all they can do is give you change for a $20. Because if you do something like give them $22 to get a $10 back, it blows their minds. And all 4 times they didn't figure it out, they just gave me a wad of cash and hoped that I'd drive away. Short 3 times. Over by $10 once. I weep for our country. read more
