Ok, here I'll continue the poor service comment section. Ordered a 3 piece chicken dinner. Got 5, only good thing. Ordered sides of ketchup & ranch. Got neither. Comes with tots, got cold fries. Drink cup was completely filled with ice, leaving very little room for the pop. Plus a 30 minute wait in the drive thru. And I started the car behind the ordering board.. I just got ripped off over $8 for 12oz lemonberry slushee and a 12oz cherry lime aid.They did not have any cups but medium so I ok order and pay then the hand my a small coffee cups. That is not a medium. Skip the hour wait and go somewhere honest with their customers. And the rip off continues as the strawberries that they charged me extra for are not even added to the drink. This not place to go to enjoy Sonic as the are cutting corners and not even making the drinks up to the standards of how good Sonic drinks are know for in the lower 48. Terrible, slow service. Two I trained kids on staff and short lines (because the word got out) that seemed long (because they weren't moving). Mediocre, nearly inedible food, and that's if they have anything actually available. Constantly blaming COVID-19 for supply shortages, but all other fast food restaurants seem to be managing just fine. Fix your mess Sonic or close the store - like you did after your failed soft opening - until you have this figured out. I recently (8-27-23 at 12:30pm) went through the drive thru at the Huffman Road location. While waiting for our food I observed a worker take a large mixing spoon from a drink vat and turned to a coworker next to her so that the coworker could taste what was on the spoon. Coworker put the spoon in her mouth to taste and the other worker put it back into the drink vat to stir some more. A BIG NO NO from a food safety standpoint. read more

I ordered a chill dog, because I love their hotdogs in the lower 48. The hotdog was warm, not cooked enough and no taste.

Absolutely horrible service. We ordered ahead online (order completed at 1:00), arrived at the restaurant at 1:28pm. Rang the service bell and were told they were finishing up the order and would bring it right out. We waited patiently for THIRTY MINUTES before trying the service bell again. No one came out, no one responded to the service bell. No food was ever brought out to my family of four. We will be demanding a refund as soon as we are able to contact Sonic as no employees ever showed their faces outside of the building. read more

We pulled into one of the stalls, ordered our food, and paid. Waited for 30 minutes before I started looking for someone to ask where our food was. I finally found an employee who was taking a smoke break and asked them about our food. He said he would go in and get our food. At about 50 minutes the manager came out and apologized and said he would have our food right out. He came back about 10 minutes later and wanted to know what our order was. After over an hour he finally comes out with our food. He was apologetic and offered to discount our meal. After he left I looked in the bag and the fries for my meal were not in there. The food was luke warm. I ended up leaving because I just didn't have the patience to wait any longer. I will have to be extremely hungry to ever go there again or any Sonic for that matter. read more

I've tried them twice now. 20 minute wait in drive thru, food and drinks were all terrible. Don't waste your time.

We came today for a slush and fries. We waited an hour and a half in the drive through. Unfortunately they are currently out of all slushes, any size large beverage, and a few other things. The anchorage police also showed up to address the traffic problem that the drive through is causing on Huffman. We also unfortunately witnessed a pretty disgruntled customer and employee fight at the drive through speakers, which included some foul language. This establishment should not have opened this soon, they have a long way to go before even hitting an average mark. Going to the wasilla sonic may be faster and also better in terms of menu options, despite the drive out. Online ordering is not available at this location. read more

Waited in the drive thru for @ 30 minutes Until I was ushered to park and order. Ordered a coney dog combo and grill cheese sandwich; waited 45 more minutes. Coney dog was pitiful and inedible. Bread was wet and soggy. I could tell they heated it up in the microwave. Grilled cheese was fine. Limeade was just okay. I will not be going back. read more

Sooooo.......my husband and I drive by this Sonic every day sometimes twice a day and every time it's coned off because we didn't get there in time to squeak our way into the safe zone of the driveway where they decide the cut off for that days service will be. The anticipation has been quite frustrating. But in a good way. We have only tried a Sonic in Florida years ago and it was super late at night and not so great but we had high hopes for the new Anchorage location! We have been perusing the app menu and drooling over all the yummy looking commercials. So this time it happened to be a Friday evening about 7:30 pm and we rounded the corner and to our surprise it was not coned off! My husband quickly sucked up the next spot in line and seconds later we were locked into our spur of the moment decision to get Sonic for dinner as people were crazily and rapidly piling up behind us. It was awesome to watch. It took about 23 minutes to finally get to the ordering speaker which was fine with us, it was super Sunny and beautiful, and quite entertaining watching and listening to impatient people honking, trying to get people to move, and 4x ing over curbs. The man talking on the speaker was super nice and very patient. Did not rush us at all and answered all of our questions with no attitude whatsoever. The lady in the right lane was trying to get in front of us even though our order was done before hers but I think at the last second her husband explained to her that we were done ordering before her so our order would be done first so she backed off . I was kinda hoping she hadn't because it woulda been funny if my husband honked with his big air horns. . Oh well. He he. So the boy at the pick up window was super nice. Seemed a bit nervous. I recommend checking your order very closely before you leave the drive thru window because this poor guy had to go back and get missing items at least 4 times. Not his fault. But once you leave the window. I would think because they are sooo busy it may be hard to have anything done about it. I love love loved my sugar free cherry slushy. I woulda waited just for that alone. I loved my Coney Island chili dog. Next time I'm adding onions and mustard. The burgers were delish and the cheddar poppers and mozzarella sticks were very good after I warmed them up at home. I wasn't able to get the "Big Dill Burger", they ran out, but I'll keep trying. So 4 stars for me only because we really had issues with missing items. There is lots of room for improvement and I feel like they are still working the bugs out. Remember everyone that these workers are going non stop literally. With good attitudes. Be patient ....Good things come to those who wait.....and please.... Sonic was one of my favorite fast food restaurants to go to in Oregon.. Still is.. but in Oregon... I think that if you want to receive 5 stars, you really should think about the customer service and quality of the product.. make the burgers fresh and not microwaved.. cook the food the way it is supposed to be prepared.. have your workers enjoy what they do and have some work ethic and give them a reason to want to have to best quality product so that others will want to join your team.. right now, what is happening is dragging Sonics name into the ground.. have fresh lettuce in your sandwiches, make sure everything is cooked to please the customer and not how many you can dish out in a few minutes.. quality makes all the difference in the world... read more

Second trying when they first opened and 20 minutes wait drive thru which I gave up. This time they closed the drive thru and have about 8 slots for cars. Of course I get there and there all full. I saw that another car was waiting parked so I joined him for slots. I can tell it's only one employee going back and forth a car finished and backed up. Thinking the parked patience guy go but no a teen boy showing off to his dorky girlfriend bullied right into the spot in front of us. First off the staff there was very pleasant and I appreciate their efforts. The restaurant looked clean though only the drive through appeared open. That being said, the food just isn't good. I tried a Steakhouse? burger, Coney dog and broccoli cheddar bites and the only flavors I could taste were salt, salt, and more salt. I also ordered a Reece's Sonic Blast but tossed that, half the burger and half the bites (I choked down the dog out of hunger). I'll never go back and hope the staff find a better place to work as there is no reason this place should take up space in Anchorage. read more

I'm a succor for Sonic, so was super excited one came to Anchorage. My husband and I wanted to give the location a little time to settle in before heading over, so decided to finally attempt to go this weekend. Only the drive through was open, so couldn't enter the building or use the drive in options. We went on a Friday around 5:00 so expected it to be pretty busy, but were pleasantly surprised that but the time that we got in line to the time we were eating our food was 27 minutes. The service was super friendly and the food was great! All the food came out just the way we ordered (my husband likes to take off a lot of stuff off of his burgers, and even his came out correct!) Wish we could have eaten inside, and the wait could have been a little shorter, but overall food and service was just what we hoped! read more
