We are not from around here and just wanted a quick bite to eat. The service was fine. I ordered the $1.99 Jr. burger. My first clue I should've cued in on immediately was when I heard the young lady at the drive thru window say that she had never seen the Jr. burger. Really? Hmmm. Now, I know why. It was not good at all. The buns were old, definitely NOT fresh by any means. The meat was dry and absolutely no flavor. After that first bite, I wrapped it back up and immediately looked for a trash barrel. Apparently, they don't have any in the parking lot. So, I had to take it for a ride and then threw it in the trash. We also had the double smash burger and I was told that it had NO flavor. I do NOT recommend at all. read more

The service here is usually speedy and the workers are extremely nice. Their ice cream is great and there are so many options for toppings. Sonic can be a little underrated when it comes to dessert options but they have several for pretty good prices. I recommend this location and appreciate the hard work the employees do. read more

I replaced a mobile order at 4:06 it said it would be ready at 4:12 we sat there for 17 minutes & my shake was melted because it had been sitting on the counter the whole time. they did remake it. But they wait until everybody's drinks are made to take them out to everyone at the same time. If you ask for your drink remade because it's melted they won't fill your cup all the way and they'll give you a drop of whipped cream. If you hate your jobs there's other ones out there! read more

I absolutely love sonic. I came here when I was just a little kid to get the shakes. I remember first time I tried them was in Kansas, Garden City. I fell in love with this place. Back then I remember they use to come to your car with skates, but I have come this this one twice and I haven't seen them do that. I love the style of this fast food place. It is very different than any other fast food restaurant I am use too. They have a drive-thru and drive-in. The drive thru is like any other drive-thru where you just drive up and order your food. The drive-in is a little different. You find a parking space and drive-in. There are menus on both sides of the windows. One of the them is a food menu and the other is a shake menu. They have so many shakes to choose from. You can even custom make one if you like. They make your shake anyway you want it. Just ask for it and they make it. FYI:They have happy hour after 8! I drove in to one of the spots and saw the menu. There was so much to choose from. Everything looked so good and mouth watering. I tried the Super Sonic double bacon cheeseburger with tater tots. When they asked me if I wanted fries or tater tots I knew I had to try the tater tots. They were bomb!!! My husband also really enjoyed the bite of my burger he stole. He chose the chili cheese hot dog and baja jalapeno hot dog. He gave me a bite of each and I thought they were so good. The food was amazing. We went on a busy night and there were a lot of cars. When I pressed the button it took them about 5 minutes to respond. I though it was broken, but when he finally responded he apologized for the wait. He took our order and was very nice over the speaker. We paid with a card and you just slide it under the menu and you are all done. The food was ready in about 15 minutes. Last time I came it was faster but like I said it was a busy night. The food was hot and it was so good. I will be coming back every chance I get. The lady that took our food was very nice as well. The wait time on this place is unreal! It's like they are trying to piss people off. I was the first car in the drive through and ordered a chocolate milk shake, pretty basic. And these clowns took 20 mins to get it to me. By the time they served me a line of cars were in the drive through. The girl working the window practically threw the thing at me and slammed the window shut while she laughed and continued to flirt with the brotatochip in the back. This is the closest Sonic from my house and my daughter's school so when we feel like getting slushies, route 44 flavored drinks or midnight ice cream cravings, this is our go-to place. They serve half prices on some items when it's off peak hours and I always get sucked into it. :) This place is always with a customer specially during school hours specially students because it's close to a Stiern middle school. If I could give it no stars I would lol the person taking the order sounded like he hates this place & took more then 20 minutes to get our order to our car. Only 2 people working which is pretty much self sabotage cuz they should at least have 3 for the amount of cars that came through. NEITHER employees were wearing gloves or face masks (COVID time) the guy was handling money, preparing food & sending out food and NOT once did he wash his hands. TERRIBLE. Went today for lunch since I had been craving a slushee all week. Normally my service is ok when I've gone in the past at this location but today they took my order I asked for extra bbq . I get to the window and the girl who took my order ran my card. A different older blonde lady hands me my card back. She then hands me all my food and I look in the bag to see if extra bbq and there wasn't any. I waited til someone came back. About 5 minutes pass and I've already honked my horn, the lady who gave me my food sees me at the window trying to get someone's attention and she walks off... but after about 5 minutes the original girl who took my order came to me and asked what I needed. So normally I go and it really is pretty slow, but this Friday evening I had a great experience. I went through drive through and it was really quick and efficient. Would give this sonic 0 stars if I was able too. Worst sonic in Bakersfield. Placed an order for small fries and the #5 which I believe is the wrap meal. Afterwards I proceed to the window where I pay and they handed me my drink.. couple mintues go by and I'm still waiting for my food and there's now 2 cars behind me. Couple mintues go by and now 3 cars behind me and one of the cars honk (not my fault they havent gave me my order yet) so then I proceed to honk. Not one of the 2 employees there acknowledges the honks or me and continues to do whatever the other employee was doing. So finally I get my food right? Wrap looked like it was half ass done, fries and tots cold. Did taste the tots and they tasted like they were re-dipped in the oil to make them seem "fresh" asked for manager, and the manager said he made the food "fresh" but tell me why it tastes warm and soggy not fresh and crunchy. He did offer to remake the food but due to them already making me late to drop off my son to his grandmas and me going to work I could not go back. So this sonic location is a little out of the way for most folks, but well known to the east siders. It is the same menu as the other places but has a more neighborhood feel. Even when the lines are a little long for drive through, they move it faster than Rosedale or 24th Street Sonics. The food is tasty and the drinks sublime. Cleanliness... not so much. Like all other Sonics, it seems the cleanliness inside the store is not a priority. I think this might be a regional or corporate problem. The staff are neat and clean, they are super nice every time I go there, but no one is cleaning the place. I have stopped ordering food here and just get slushies and other drinks. I want the food, but with the place so dirty inside I'm afraid to order the food. Sorry Sonic, but you need to clean it up. I want the food. I miss the food. If only I felt I could TRUST the food! It makes me sad because I love supporting businesses in my neighborhood. That Coney Dog looks like heaven on a bun but I fear the three day runs. Sorry folks if I got gross, but eww. Seriously. Eww. I have ordered the double bacon cheeseburger from this location, on Niles street this summer. Three of those times I have received pickles and onions on the burger. I each time, I have requested "No Pickles and No Onions." Each time that I have ordered the burger with that request the worker feels the need to educate me to the fact that this burger doesn't come with pickles or onions. Yet it did. When I asked for them to remake the burger the staff at Sonic tell me that the burger isn't supposed to have ckles nor onions I know that . I specifically requested that. All I need is the burger to bremade as ordered. I am very disappointed to be given statements of obvious information or excuses (one time the manager blamed it n the new cook). A more acceptable response would be "oh no. I will fix this right away". It does not impress me for the worker or manager to blame something or someone.
