This was my first time going to a sonic. Pros: It was cool being able to order from my car and have someone roller blade it out to me, and the food is cheap. Cons: the food is cheap because the food is awful. I wasn't surprised at how bad it was, but it was really bad food. Even the fries weren't good. I got a cookie dough ice cream shake thing, even that wasn't good!!! They messed up ice cream, how?! If you've never been to Sonic, I understand going to see what it's about. Not even 1 star. So we ordered the 2 Asiago chicken sandwich combo with a Diet Coke and tots, the #2 double cheeseburger combo with only mayo, ketchup, and mustard, tots, and a large blue slushie with nerds, and 2 beef burritos. Over $22, you'd think they could get that correct? Nope. Over 20 mins waiting in the drive thru, didn't get the 2nd chicken sandwich, I asked for ketchup and got a snotty response of it's in the bag (if I'm asking for ketchup, it's because I want more than 2 packets) and that double cheeseburger? Yeah, definitely came as a single. We pull into the parking lot, I call inside the store, complain about the chicken sandwich and the burger, and get a uh, uhm, uh, well I guess I can remake the burger. What would you like on it? I tell the guy. Ok I'll remake it. What did you want on it? Told him again, and just drove away. And these people want $18 an hour? Yeah, ok. I would rather drive out to Manchester for Sonic. I used the drive thru to order a chili cheese coney today. I hadn't been to a sonic in over a year and I'd been craving a coney all day. Well, sonic is out of my way, so when I got home 20 minutes later I was very disappointed to see they put no cheese or chili on a burnt hot dog. The staff was very slow and very rude they argued with me about things on the menu, Told me that I was wrong and that they don't have the item I was asking for but they would charge me for it. I asked for the manager didn't get one. I called corporate and they apologized and told me the store manager would be in contact he never called, I called corporate again and they said the District manager would call me she never did either. I also found hair in my food. Absolutely the worst place to eat in Bristol. I was a manager at a restaurant for a while I'd never allow such behavior. The manager should be ashamed of him self and corporate should fire his ass because clearly he doesn't care about the restaurant. There's a reason the only 2 items you ever hear about at sonic are cherry limeade slushies and chili cheese tots- it's because they are the only decent items on the menu. I went to this Sonic so excited- and left so disappointed. Their coney dogs taste cheaper than Bar-S brand. The oreo cheesecake shake I got was so thick, I don't even know why they put it in a cup with a chintzy soda straw. The straw collapses with every sip. The flavor is good but it's definitely not what I'd call a beverage. It was pretty dead there, like usual, so it's hard to see the whole experience of perky carhops buzzing around on skates like the commercials. It took a long time to get our order, but I can't blame them for that since we had a big order. The food came out hot and the order was accurate. It just wasn't impressive. If you've never had Sonic and pass by Bristol, CT's location, try the chili cheese tots. They're definitely messy and have an intense saltiness, but they are addictive and quickly became my favorite item there. read more

Always wanted to try sonic saw the ads on TV all the time. They forgot half my family's order had to go up and they didn't believe me. I showed my receipt and they fixed it My drink spilled I went up to tell them and to get a new drink and was told by the cashier very rudely we don't do refills. The cashier was very rude the lady that brought our food was great she was nice she brought me another drink and she brought balloons for the kids. The food was good. read more

My first visit to Sonic and probably my last .We ordered Sonic slingers that were loaded with mayo. The ad for that burger does not say it has mayo on it or some sort of mayo sauce on it. Not very appealing. also I was charged for a cup of water. not bottled water but tap water !!!!!!! I called their consumer line to ask if that is the norm to put mayo on that sandwich when it is not advertised that way and they could not answer that question. They did tell me they don"t charge for water ,they charge for the cup. How absurd !!!!!! There was no mention on the menu that they charge for a cup!!!!! This was the first time I have dined at a sonic, and I have to say they did A beautiful job with making a fantastic dining experience. The location has all available amenities, the drive in, drive thru, and dining hall. The dining hall has a fireplace even, a first of me to see in a restaurant. The carhops even bring the food to the diners in the dining hall, and their footlong hot dogs are really good. And they even give you some after meal mints to have when you finish. And their slushes are actually real delectable. This is one place I will be coming back to again and again. read more

Lot of fried stuff mostly on the menu... I tend to stay away from lot of it... I mainly get the drinks and coney dog or the grilled cheese (both with Asiago cheese -- no yellow...yuck)... I like the way they serve you as a drive in. But I tend to goto the window (drive up) when it is cold outside. I feel bad for them. (I know I know its their job! Sheesh.) I have always watched Sonic commercials over the years and thought "man, I can't wait until they open one of these around here...that stuff looks amazing!", so when I had heard that Sonic was moving into neighboring Bristol I knew I had to try it. I had visited a Sonic once before in North Carolina while visiting one of my ex's family and had ice cream only. It was really good, but I still wasn't really sold on the place. So a few days after the location in Bristol opened, we (me and my roommate) headed over with high hopes (I was really hungry too, I purposely hadn't eaten anything before we went). Here is my review: Service- When we got there, we were stopped by a "Sonic security guard" who wanted to know if we were opting for the drive-thru or one of the drive up stations. All the stations were full, so we decided we would just hit the drive-thru. We were directed around the parking lot to a queue that had formed in the back of it. We waited for about 15-20 minutes until we were given the go-ahead by one of the staff. Overall, it seemed like the staff directing the flow of traffic and customers really had it together and did a nice job. We got to the speaker where we placed our orders, and the guy that helped us over the speaker was really good at his job. We finally got our food, and noticed that my apple slices (ironically the only healthy thing we ordered) were missing. I was a little annoyed, but we decided to just forget about them and go eat. Overall the whole ordering process from beginning to the time we had our good was about 15 minutes. Considering how busy it was, I thought it was pretty impressive. It also probably explained my lack of apples, which was understandable Food- I decided that I was going to try the breakfast first, since it is conveniently served all day long. I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese Toaster sandwich with hash browns and a Pepsi. Also I ordered apples for dessert, but didn't get to try them out. The sandwich itself was pretty good but a little dry. The egg was scrambled and folded, which added to the size of the sandwich making it really feel like a good amount of food. The bacon (the most important part IMO) was good, but a little thin. The amount of egg on the sandwich definitely overwhelmed the bacon, making it barely noticeable. The cheese was, well, cheesy. It was not really oily or have a thin consistency, two traits I absolutely hate. The bread was good, but a little bit much. They would probably benefit from more variation in their breakfast sandwich menu, maybe adding bagels or other choices. The Hash browns were a little disappointing, considering how often I have heard how good they are. They were crunchy and fresh, but nothing really stood out about them. Overall- I would say that Sonic is most definitely worth a try, and I personally plan on going back to give it another try. This location is brand new, so once the hype dies down a little bit I am hoping that I will really be wow'd by my visit. read more

I would never recommend anyone go to this specific sonic. I have been here countless times and I think have only even received actual food twice. The drive ins NEVER work. I press the button, and nobody ever answers. I get sick of waiting 29 minutes and leave. Drive through service is awful, rarely ever anyone even working at the window. And when I receive food finally, it's either not made right, or was made haphazardly. I am let down every single time I visit this location. read more

Awful. Food has never been the same quality as the others and the staff is just terrible. Never gone there and not had a problem. I wouldn't even waste your time trying to go there. Tonight for example, went in and three people walked by, none of which even acknowledged our presence. We finally left it was the straw that finally broke the camel's back for me. Against my better judgement, I tried this place again this past weekend, waited in the drive through line for 33 minutes....for a beverage. I took a pic of the drivethrough and voiced my concerns via FB messenger.....no reply. I sent another message Tuesday about the fact that they clearly didn't care and how bad of a business move that was. Still no reply.. All I wanted was an acknowledgment/apology.
