I visited Five Corners Bistro for the first time on Valentine's Day with my boyfriend. He made reservations for an early dinner (4pm). It was a really good experience! Our waiter Elijah had a cool vibe and was attentive. For drinks, I ordered their Valentine's Day special cocktail which was tasty and pretty. My boyfriend ordered a sour beer which he said was one of the best sours he's had. For appetizers, we ordered the flatbread which was spiced pumpkin, goat cheese and sage. It was so flavorful! I would definitely order again. We also ordered the Cajun tacos which were also very flavorful and good balance of flavors. Would also order again. For our entrees, I ordered the Braised Short Rib Grilled Cheese with truffle fries. It was so delicious. I love that it was on sourdough bread and the cheddar cheese (I think it was cheddar) made every bite just so good. The fries were not the truffle that I was expecting. Instead of oil I think they used a seasoning so it was a little salty but I found that I couldn't stop eating them. My boyfriend ordered the bacon burger with pork belly and massive onion rings. He did say that he wish he ordered what I got and he said the pork belly was a little too crispy for his liking. Overall, I would recommend Five Corners Bistro. We decided to go back to five corners. It was absolutely amazing the last time I was there . I had the steak frites the steak was full of flavor and the french fries were very tasty. This is by far one of my favorite restaurants in Farmington. The food is solid and never disappoints. I probably eat here once a week. I love the staff who are exceedingly attentive. I never make a reservation but I manage to get seated quickly at a high top, which is just fine. The dishes have high-quality ingredients and no matter what I order, my meal is simply delicious. The issue was how it was handled. One person in our group was singled out and abruptly cut off in a way that felt unnecessarily aggressive and public. There was no clear or respectful explanation in the moment, and the tone immediately shifted the entire table from relaxed to uncomfortable. There is also a small but important clarification to your response. When speaking with the manager, I mentioned that a joke didn't land in reference to a declined shot. There was no "bad joke" or disruption at the table, and that characterization is misleading. There is a big difference between making a judgment call and handling it professionally. This felt like the situation was escalated rather than managed. Involving a manager and approaching it the way it was done made it far more uncomfortable than it needed to be, especially given there was no disruption at the table. Your response here only reinforces that point. It focuses on defending the decision itself, while completely overlooking how it was executed and experienced by your guests. Those are not the same thing. If your goal is to maintain a certain standard of service, then the delivery matters just as much as the decision. Unfortunately, this experience fell short in that regard. It's disappointing, because this has been a place we've enjoyed in the past, but this interaction left a lasting negative impression. read more

I finally got out to Five Corners for the first time and it was for happy hour. I haven't been to this place since it was The Stone Well, years ago. It looks completely different and very nice. My friends made a 5:30 reservation, which I would recommend because they were SLAMMING for a Wednesday evening. We were quickly seated, our waiter was on top of everything. One cool thing about this place is you don't have to sit somewhere special to get the HH specials, like other places that make you sit at the bar. We had beer, margaritas and martinis and they make cocktails lickety-split at this joint. Thumbs up for that. Our waiter, Jesse was a hoot, and he took great care of us. I ordered directly from the HH menu and got the arancini, the nachos and the hot dog----all were really tasty. I especially loved the nachos being made from potato chips rather than tortilla chips. My wife had the short rib grilled cheese and she loved it. It looked more like a meat sandwich with a suggestion of cheese. The place itself is very modern and sleek. wood grains across black iron in decorative designs on the floor and tables. the earthenware a flat grey but all matching, and the water out of carafes. The server was very nice and informative. Helped in making all our selections and offered good advice. The food, well it was food. The French Onion had a bit of coying sweetness, which really messed up the beef flavor of the broth. Girlfriend didn't like this, ended up returning it and opted for the meatballs instead. The chips were good. the cheese and ale dip reminded me of a soup I had recently, only it was appropriately served as a dip. The meatballs were handmade but were pretty much ground beef and Italian seasoning. Not bad, but lacking depth and salt. The tomato sauce was also fresh but also one-note. The meatballs were separate from the sauce, not seared and not seasoned either. Good texture, not good flavor. The shrimp tacos were good, but were missing spice to be called "cajun". They were more just straight up shrimp, but it was a good bite of shrimp, and the slaw was appropriately dressed to give a well composed bite. The french toast was a fresh challah bread and just the right amount of sear and cinnamon. the bananas foster element translated to a loose butter sauce on the bottom of the plate with warmed bananas and candied walnuts out of a can. The whipped cream was fresh, and I liked the bananas, but it was not exactly what I was expecting. My biggest issue was the price. for 3 appetizers and an order of french toast the bill came to $52. None of the bites we had were good enough to justify the price point, especially not the $17 french toast. Having much better bites at much cheaper prices, this place doesn't justify the decor. I recently went here with a friend and the service we received during our visit was impeccable--frequent check-ins, recommendations, and so patient. It was much appreciated. The food was phenomenal--well presented and tasty. They did forget my bacon, but when I reminded our server, it was quickly brought out. The Corner Coffee was a balanced coffee cocktail that made the occasion feel more special. The French toast was epic--I will return for that. Went here with my friend to celebrate my belated birthday brunch. Our plan was just to get some appetizers and drinks to catch up so we will definitely have to be back to try some entrées because I've heard that they are really good. I really like the Christmas tree they had in the lobby as well as the various pieces of holiday decor. My friend got the avocado toast with the egg over medium on the side and I got the salmon lox toast. The toppings were delicious, but I thought the bread was a little bit hard. I had tried the chai cranberry cocktail, which was pretty delicious and we both got two mimosas and mocktails as well. They have some unique drink options & I personally wanted to try a bit of everything from the menu, but since we were going to be there for a while, I went with the bottomless mimosas. I'm happy to report, the champagne was definitely in the building & it was tasty. The frequency of the refills also wasn't lacking For food, I had the steak and eggs. My steak was cooked at a perfect medium & the meat itself was tender & delicious, having that, just taken off the grill, char flavor. The eggs were bright, beautiful & silky. They must use a quality brand egg because these didn't taste like a diner egg whatsoever! There a lot of food on this plate, but somewhere I still felt like I was eating healthy. It probably helped that the home fries & toast weren't oily at all. The service was impeccable, especially with the size of our group. I didn't hear any complaints or anyone asking for the waiter. He was very attentive & always present. We were in the back area where it could be closed off from the main dining room or left open. I had the ribeye that was outstanding cook to perfection and my husband had Rigatoni Bolognas the pasta was homemade , it was absolutely delicious.
