I never write reviews but had to after not visiting Sonic in almost a year because of bad experiences at this location...other than you never know when they are open or closed, because they are never open during normal breakfast hours or 24/7 as stated on sign and receipts...But anyhow, this eve i decided to give them a chance. I ordered a super sonic with cheese (double with bacon) and got home to bite into this cold single bland burger. I even called and reached an automatic message...pressed 0 to reach someone ...and without surprise continued to receive busy signals. If the employees stop popping and locking acting a fool in plane view and pay more attention to their orders, then maybe they might actually give customers what they actually ask for. Opening day!!!!! Lines appear to be out of this world, but they actually move fast. There are 2 drive thru windows, parking to go in to order your food, and about 20 car hops!!!! Don't be discouraged by the line, it will move fast!!!! Also, there are 2 entrances, one coming from Hamoton Bldv and one from Walker Mill Road. 1/2 price slushes and drinks 2-4. Just drive another 45 minutes to an hour to the next nearest Sonic because it will take this location 45 minutes to give you the wrong order with a side of attitude. 20-30 minutes for an incorrect order if you use the drive-thru...but then you'll get home and be pissed if you didnt THOROUGHLY check your order. I love Sonic, and I don't think I've ever had a problem with my order at this location, but I simply can't recommend it over other Sonics I've visited. Even before COVID-19, the ice cream machine had been constantly broken (as were the drive-in order-and-eat parking spots - this is a huge part of the Sonic experience and a main selling point for them) and they were out of various food items on a regular basis. After seeing some of the other reviews, I was very concerned about coming to this Sonic location. I was pleasantly surprised to discover friendly staff members and great food that came out piping hot! I took off one star because they didn't put ketchup on our burgers, but this was easily rectified through the ketchup packets they provided to us. I would definitely come to this location again. Oh, and apparently the bathrooms were super clean. Another good restaurant chain ruined for moving up north....first it was Bojangles now you've taken Sonic my childhood favorite. Last night I went to the Sonic in Capitol Heights, Maryland. I was in line at 10:30 pm. The line moved so slowly it was ridiculous. When it was finally my turn at the drive-thru, I was told they were closed. There were at least 10 cars behind me. I complained and asked for corporate's number. The manager, Chuck, gave me a 301 non-working number. I expressed my frustration and Chuck said they are on a timer and cannot take orders after 11:00 pm. I asked wouldn't the courteous thing be to alert the customers who are waiting in line? Chuck responded, they know we close at 11:00. I said well I didn't know. I thought Sonic was 24 hours. (I don't usually come to Sonic.) I guess the people behind me didn't know either. Anyway, I said, I will contact Corporate and he said, "That's fine." I just contacted Rowena at Corporate. I am still frustrated about this unacceptable service. Rowena offered to compensate me with a coupon for a free drink. I find this offensive. Sonic, I don't know how you get this long lines with this kind of service. They should have put up cones, had someone come out like Chic-Fil-A, Panda Express, etc. does. I did alert the people in one of the cars. How dare they wait until each person got to the window just to say they were closed. I was pretty disappointed coming here. I waited in the drive thru for 30 minutes after ordering my food it was one car in front of me that sat and waited as well. I love going to Sonic when I lived in Florida and Georgia... This one sucks!!! They only had Sprite to drink... my food was nasty!! It took drive thru about 10 minutes to acknowledge me at 10 a.m. & there were no other cars but me. Update 10/25/16: l decided I would give this location one more try and I was actually pleasantly surprised by the quality of service and food during this visit. I was left completely satisfied with both, which after my last visit is really saying something. There's no way this is the same staff they hired initially. The gentleman taking my order in the drive through was very nice and seemed genuinely happy to be there. His disposition was extremely pleasant. I can't believe the difference, it's like night and day. I really hope they keep this up. Great job on the improvements! I guess management is listening after all. read more
