I have been wanting to try Slim Chickens for a while but they always have such a long line. I finally stopped by on a weeknight because they are open late. The line was still long but it moved pretty quickly, especially since there are two drive thru lanes. I ordered the 5x5 combo which came with five tenders, five wings, fries, Texas toast and a drink. The mango habanero flavored wings were decent. I liked the crunch but they lacked seasoning. The tenders and fries were well seasoned and tasty. There was plenty of food for $18 and enough to save for later depending on how hungry you are. The customer service was also good. I would return but will likely stick to the tenders. read more

I was excited to try this new chicken spot, but it left me wanting me. The menu was a little hard to follow. The dips and sauces are mixed together so when asked which sauce you want on your chicken I gave a dip instead of a sauce. The chicken was just okay, the milkshake was not thick and there was nothing on the menu that I was excited to try or to entice me to come back. The chicken & waffles meal was mixed for me: the waffles were pretty good and fluffy but for some reason the chicken tenders were dryer than usual. The 5 & 5 meal was pretty solid: the chicken tenders and honey bbq wings were decent, the Oreo shake was okay, and the fries were very average. Also The brownie was meh. Now the sauces are where it's at. If I was ranking all the sauces I tried I'd say first the honey mustard by far, second the slim sauce, third the honey bbq, and fourth the mango habanero. Got a salad and a chicken sandwich. The chicken was over cooked or old, stringy, no flavor. It was so dry it was hard on the ends.

Went with my girlfriend yesterday at around 5-6pm. We ordered through the app & was going to just pick up & go. We decided to eat at this establishment inside. We get our food & we notice we're missing an order of fries. Like anyone else would do, you go & ask for the fries or a refund. In this case my gf ordered an extra set of fries so we had 2 fries already we didn't need more so refund was requested. First of all, the manager needs to learn customer service. To begin with when I asked an employee how this can be fixed their response was "go get her" directed towards a fellow coworker. After this response from the employee I jokingly told her "should I be scared?" What followed was the manager being rude & honestly accusing me of lying & stealing while sitting in the establishment. She firstly didn't even speak to me just grabbed the receipt & I had to explain that were missing an order of fries. She didn't believe me. I invited the MANAGER to our table where our food was at to see nobody was lying. I got my refund. I thought it was over with. Then me & my gf are eating & the MANAGER comes walking past our table inspecting our food as well did another employee. I set all the containers out facing towards where they walked so they could see I was not lying. Not only is this behavior disgusting, you had the chance when I invited you to the table to check. I had nothing to lie about. I felt racially profiled. Needless to say I love slims. Your manager is a POS & the employees are scared of her should say enough about that as is. If you delete this review I will post it back up tenfold because you know what you did & you stared me down walking out thinking I'm stealing from you. The family and I have been to Slim Chickens a number of times. The staff is extremely courthouse and friendly. We even had the manager come by our table once just to check on us to make sure everything was ok. The inside of the restaurant is very nice with lots of seating. They have a pretty extensive menu and my wife and I love their Slim's Salad. Our girls (8 and 11) who normally get chicken tenders have come across one of two over breaded and/or soggy pieces on our initial visits but have not had any issues since. They have a very wide variety of sauces for their sandwiches/tenders plus a number of menu items that you might find at Chick-fil-a. Overall if you were looking for a little variety, I would recommend checking them out. read more

Place was jam packed on a Thursday @ noon, I got the last parking space on the lot, inside was loud; but the line moved quickly. I ordered a six piece garlic parmesan wings meal with fries and peach tea. The wings were ok, nothing special, just ok. The fries were hot and crispy, better than the wings and the peach tea was delicious. Service wa quick, all employees i interacted with were friendly, place was spotless, inside and out and tables were cleaned as soon as you finished eating. Let's start with the tenders..they were delicious and tasted very homemade. I loved the seasoning on them. We got ranch, honey mustard, garlic Parmesan sauces, and slim sauce. I would rank them in that order. I did not enjoy the slim sauce. It was missing some flavor. Next, the wings. Delicious. They could have been hotter, sauce wise but they were cooked well. The fries were basic but good and the Mac and cheese is very creamy. If you like more caked Mac and cheese, this is not for you. But the Mac and cheese was also missing some flavor. I placed two orders on doordash for two waffles one as a meal and the other by itself. The dasher only came with one order and I contacted doordash and I also called in the restaurant immediately to check in if they gave both orders to the dasher or not, before I could finish my sentence about a doordash order the first time I called the guy who picked up immediately hung up on me when I mentioned a doordash order. I was eager to try this new restaurant in Clinton Coventry Plaza, but I came away being very, very disappointed. I ordered the 5/5. I will say that the the service was great and the ambiance was nice. However, the food was just horrible. The tenders were small, bland, tasteless, and stringy. And, the wings were dry, like rubber, and chewy. You definitely need some type of sauce to make the chicken even palatable. I just couldn't eat it. I will give them one more try in a week or so, but going forward, I think will stick to my old standby---Popeyes!! read more

So I'd heard about this place about a year ago; at the time my nephew was raving about how good it was but you know how it is with the youngsters - you don't expect them to have refined taste buds so its usually cheap and has enough salt that makes it memorable. I am pleased to say that isn't the case here - I've had the tenders and the wings and the milk shakes; I suggest having the wings sauced and eating them in the restaurant. If you get them plain, they're not very flavorful and if you take them home sauced, they'll get soggy. The tenders however, they're the best thing they offer. Crispy, but juicy - I get them naked and make use of the dipping sauces (garlic sriracha is my favorite - tangy, a little spicy and a little sweet); the fries are pretty good, too. The milk shakes are thick and creamy and very tasty as well. The prices are excellent - the cheapest meal you'll get in that area, and better than a lot of the offerings nearby. It has quickly become a family favorite - I get it at least once a week, sometimes twice if my wife decides she wants some, too. I've never had a bad experience here; the customer service is always on-point and if you have special requests, they're quick to accommodate. You can't go wrong if you have a hankering for chicken tenders and fries! They also offer salads and a few other choice sides, desserts and they have tailgater specials, too. Craving chicken tenders, and the other place chicken tenders doesn't cut it for me I decided to take a chance on Slim chickens. Walking, and I was greeted to a really bright clean place where the employee greeted me promptly me and got my food for me. My price for my four piece tender meal was cheaper just by a 50 cents than the other place but I got freshly made sauces and Texas toast. as for the food I really like the slim sauce and ranch. The fries were OK and the chicken tenders were hot and juicy but the coating was a little soggy. I'm not sure if the sogginess was due to the fact that I called ahead, and my food was waiting for me, but I prefer my chicken crispier. They also have freshly brewed iced tea with four different flavor, sweet unsweetened, peach, and raspberry. I like the fact that you can help yourself so you can adjust your sweetness and your flavor profiles accordingly. A few of us came to the office that day and decided to order lunch. I wanted something simple and went with Chicken tenders. The chicken tenders were a good size and the breading was good too. I prefer them to other local spots. I also love the variety of dips and sauces they have. They have a lot of side options as well. I ordered the banana pudding desert today 10/23/25 from the Bowie location. The presentation was great but it should have been named Vanilla waffers and whip cream. They put small squirts of banana pudding against the glass but nothing in the middle. Once you scrape away the little bit of pudding its all waffers and whip cream.
