This location feels a bit more compact than the other in Georgetown. But it brings back a lot of memories. It is the original in town (and despite the new stalls you can see the old stalls and building remain adjacent to it). We used to 'cruise' through here while in high school since we had few other places to frequent. While there is nostalgia and are classics on the menu, this location has modern upgrades which, for some reason, I couldn't access at the other location -- i.e., access via phone app. I downloaded the Sonic app and found it provides a great bargain in 1/2 price drinks and slushes. It also allows for a wide variety customization on orders. I thought it very similar to Taco Bell's app which encourages customization. But it didn't allow me to order from the Williams Drive location. So, I ordered and headed toward the downtown area. I reopened the app upon arrival. I entered my stall number and I was welcomed by name on the ordering screen. It also gave me an update of the preparation of my order and when it was finished even gave me the name of the server on the way to my car. Wonderful experience. The order was exactly accurate, the burger was perfectly cooked and well seasoned and the tater tots and slushy...well I mentioned they had classics on the menu. Just ordered a saucer Bbq popcorn chicken and a sauced buffalo chicken. When my order came out the chicken was almost completely dry. Meaning they were not sauced. I pushed the button to ask for a side of each sauce please. A few minutes later a manager comes out asking what was wrong with my order. Do I tell her I was just asking for sauce since my sauced chicken orders had little to none. She said sure I'll have someone ring you up for more sauce since there's a charge. She then needed to verify there was no sauce and grabbed my containers and shook them saying oh there's plenty of sauce. So I told her okay. Nevermind. Sorry for inconveniencing you and left. Tonight was a pretty busy Friday night. I was DoorDashing so I was kind of in a hurry but I could see how many cars there was so I understood there would be a wait. My wait honestly wasn't that long, that wasn't the issue. My issue was the car hop who brought me my food. She didn't say hi, she didn't smile she just looked angry. I took my food and drinks from her and then she threw my straw Into my car. By her Demeanor I could see that she was either annoyed angry or upset. Not my problem. I check the bag to make sure that I had everything and I was missing 2 large tots. The same car hop came back but only brought one. She again nearly threw the tots into my car. That's when I got very upset myself. Before I could even tell her that hey I'm still missing one she storms away. Thankfully I got the rest of my order. We have been using this Sonic long before COVID and they have never gotten one order correct. We will not use this Sonic again, we ordered tonight and again food is missing from the order, we oder a childs meal with a hamburger with meat and cheese only and some how for the 5 years we have lived in this area they have never once got this burger right! We go back with reciept and they want all of the food back dont and dont want to make the order good. We did eventually get the rest of the food and the right hamberger but "The Manager" said she had to report the food as stolen!! how the hell do you steal food from sonic?? It seems weird to me to review a fast food restaurant but the customer service here was just so good that I had to. This Sonic on Austin Avenue (close to McDonalds) in Georgetown, Texas is the ONLY one I know that does NOT offer the Tuesday Night Special of Half Price Sonic Burgers. Here's a question: WHY??? I just moved here and was extremely disappointed to find this out when I visited Sonic on my very first Tuesday in Georgetown. I will only visit this Sonic as a last resort only from now on. Come on Sonic-Georgetown! Treat your community to the same special other Central Texas Sonic locations do. HALF PRICE SONIC BURGERS on Tuesdays is a tradition in my family. I have never had a terrible experience with this particular Sonic and I always go there for sweet tea. Occasionally I'll pick up dinner for myself if I don't feel like cooking. Tonight when I stopped and ordered a deluxe chicken sandwich and fries I got home and got 3 bites in only to realize it was raw in the middle. So I really hope I don't get good poisoning. I have had two bad experiences here. First the person who was taking my order was rushing the order. And when I received my order I wasn't told that drink and fries didn't come with the combo that I ordered. Second happened today, the person taking my order stops me in the middle of my order and tells me to hold on. Then she came back on and said "ok" so I finished my order and she didn't repeat it back or anything. I know it's in the screen but this sonic has the worst customer service.
