Sonic reminds me so much of home, that I couldn't pass up the opportunity to check this one out! The greatest part of eating at a Sonic is when they skate out to bring you your food. It's such a small little thing, but it's part of the whole experience! (I wonder if they're required to do that while it's raining...? I hope not!) I love their grilled cheese, and tater tots. It's complete junk food, and I adore every greasy calorie I eat. If this location wasn't 45 minutes from my house, I'd definitely make it my go to drunk-munchies spot! Alas, it's really far, so I'll just stick to ordering pizzas. Their burgers are yummy as well, but their happy hour drinks are probably the best thing on the menu. It's hot as heck here in SoFlo, so you already know that cold drinks are in high demand. They have a really broad menu, so even the pickiest of waters will find something they like to drink! (I can say this with absolute certainty because I'm the #1 pickiest eater in the state.) Don't visit and expect a 5-star dining experience. This place is funny I ordered one of those hot dogs they like to prompt everywhere with the special bread and the bacon and cheese and these people give me some stale huge bread with some tiny kids menu hot dog in it looking all emaciated . It was terrible un eatable unless you like bread. These guys ran out of the large size hotdogs that come with that bread and instead gave me some kids size hotdog like I would t noticed . This is my fourth or fifth time here at the Hialeah location. I've always gotten the best service at night. In the day time it's usually one person servicing the drive in. The service is usually good but is a lot slower in the day. At night being that it's busier I think there is more help so the service is usually better. The food here is always fresh and I have never had a problem with my order. I love the app it always come handy especially for the wacky pack coupons for my nephew. He loves it! Not to mention you can pay through the app. They always have some kind of weekday deals. It's convenient that's it's just a five minute drive from the super Walmart and there is a neighborhood Walmart in the same plaza! Today we ordered the Ultimate Chicken Sandwich meal with Onion Rings, and the Chilli Cheese Dog. The Ultimate Chicken was crisp and hot, and the onion rings are probably some of the best in the world. In the fast food realm Sonic is tops. Recommended! read more

I've been there twice recently this last week, and both times I had the SAME carhop named Trisha ask for a tip. I've ordered from every fast food place there is, and many other Sonics, but NEVER IN MY LIFE has a fast food employee ASKED FOR A TIP I paid with my card both times before my food arrived because I wanted to get in and out of there, but this particular employee made me feel uncomfortable and frustrated. She even said and I quote: " I seen you paid with a credit card, if you ain't got any cash that's fine, I CAN TAKE CHANGE" She messed the order up and charged me for a Vanilla Malt Shake when I asked for a Vanilla Cone, and she told me my card had been declined and then when I looked shocked she said "JUST KIDDING". ***My girlfriend recorded this happening It needs to be posted that this employee is the true definition of UNPROFESSIONAL!!! She shouldn't be an employee as she is giving Sonic a truly bad look and name. She hung around the car repeating herself, asking if I wanted condiments when I said no and implying that I needed to tip to get them anyway I submitted a complaint off the first receipt, but they didn't ask for any of my information so I don't know how they plan on resolving this issue. Each time I've come to this sonics I've seen there's something that they could improve on. This last time was the last straw for me returning here. If I want sonics I'll just keep driving to the one in Florida City. I gave them my credit card to pay this past week and they said it was declined. Odd to me since I have a high limit on my cards and only spend about $200 before paying them back. So I'm not sure why Capital One would put a hold on my card. I give the cashier my Discover and that one went through just fine she says. While waiting for my food I decide to check my capital one app to find out why it was declined. Surprise surprise it was charged... I told the female at the window which didn't understand and the manager was just constant in her wanting me to understand it's impossible and if it shows that then it'll just go back in a few days which was obviously not the case. I had to call and ask to fight the charge. What bothers me is that even though I continued to tell the manager my card was charged she refused to admit to it. And kept repeating that she sees this all the time and my card wasn't charged. If you don't know don't lie to me. It's true in business that I can't blame the team for being mediocre if their leadership is the same if not worse. read more

This was just MY experience: I'm not sure who is doing the hiring, but they should take some time out to properly train the staff and give them time to learn the menu. First time we went, there was flies EVERYWHERE, the patio style seats are extremely uncomfortable, 2 orders took 15 minutes to explain and the server should have at least washed his hands, or cut his long dirty nails before serving the food. The lines are ridiculous and people are like savages- waiting to get a spot in line to park and then parking anywhere they want. On a positive note, the burgers weren't too bad, but the tater tots where old, stale & overcooked. I hope they get this place right. read more

I've been waiting for a sonic to open by my house for a long time. As soon as I heard this one was opening I rushed over excited to enjoy their tasty treats. Unfortunately the experience wasn't that great because of some of the staff there. I'm sure there's a lot of training that's happening right now because they just opened, but you probably shouldn't be training someone during a lunch rush when a lot of people are in a hurry and hungry. As soon as I walked inside there wasn't a clear area where you can wait in line or not. The line kind of goes in through the tables were people are sitting and eating. I know this is the place I usually drive up to to get the food. But I think they should focus on the people that are going to go inside to eat as well. I ordered a double cheesy bacon hotdog with tater tots and a cherry limeade drink. Unfortunately they didn't bring me that when they brought me my food. So they had to take it back and it took even longer to fix my order because they were confused. Once all that happened I finally got my food. And it was good. I went up to get a refill of my cherry limeade, but they don't do refills for a cherry limeade you have to buy another drink. That's a bummer. read more

Since this just opened the lines are long and the set up for the five thru does not make sense. You go in at the side where you order but have to go all the way around. Then there is a line for those that want to park at the ordering parking section. Finally someone asks if that Is what you are on line for. ..no. ... then you need to maneuver around that line to get in the drive thru line. You place the order and get to the window and get your food. You now need to merge with the line which is driving in which are going to the drive thru or the ordering parking section. Not very organized thinking. Hopefully it will get better as the new restaurant in town dies down. Shakes are delicious. read more

I've been to plenty of Sonic's, my first being outside of Houston just a little under 10 years ago. To finally see a Sonic in the metro area is really nice, and this is the first Sonic Beach I have seen. While outside of the theming I'm not sure what may be too different despite the fact that my usual bacon toaster wasn't on the menu? Though I know the Sonic in Jensen Beach has it. Again typical Sonic, the food came out promptly and hot and my Cherry Limeade was perfect. Though they didn't put my cherry in it at this location, it still wasn't bad. While I wasn't there during the opening I didn't experience the negatives that others have experienced. Our carhop was friendly and very nice, he was also prompt and asked us twice if we needed sauces or anything else. So why the 4 stars? Well the credit card reader wasn't working on my order panel, so he had to skate off with my card. My other issue was the fact that the girl who took my order was very rude and when I asked for a substitution she immediately snapped at me and told me no. I have never experienced that at any location and I have even split orders in a car jammed with 5 others at another location and had no issues. Outside of those issues, it's a Sonic if you come here expecting Houston quality meat and Disney customer service then you should probably keep driving. If you want a carhop experience and just enjoy burgers and fries this place is for you. read more

While ordering, the guy said we couldn't place a second order (like we couldnt have easily just pretended to be the next driver in line). We drive up towards the window and Three different people walked up to the door and window to inform them they messed up their order. *We had to drive all the way around to place our second order btw* And they messed up my order as well, asked for no pickles and he even repeated back to me when i ordered it that it was with No pickles so that was annoying, had to wait almost 10 more minutes for my new sandwich read more

I love this place! It has such a diverse menu compared with other fast food spots. Aside from the usual, one can get hot dogs and Philly Cheese Steaks sandwiches too. Their frozen drinks are made with real juice compared to their artificial counterparts at Taco Bell or 7Eleven. I combined Grape, Sour Apple & Cranberry and it was the bomb! The French Fries were made with real potatoes! Their burgers surpass the competition. They are made so pretty and stacked with fresh and natural ingredients. Sonic surpasses McDonald's, Burger King, and Wendy. I feel their burger is better than Five Guys and almost reaches the level of Fuddruckers. And the ice cream is on the level of Dairy Queen or better! Oh and the service is so cool too, staff brings the food out while gliding in their roller skates. How cool is that - nobody else does that!? I wish that they would mix up the music more. Here in Hialeah, the spoken language is 90% Spanish. It would be cool to hear some spanish tunes alongside english ones. After all, Hispanics are probably the majority who spend their money in this branch. read more

I don't come here all that often but when I have (for the shakes and mozzarella) I always have the pleasure of being helped by Shadricka at the window. This was the worst service I've ever received honestly! I order a Butterfinger blast and some chicken @ 3:25 PM 10/18/17 & I had waited 25 minutes just for that !!! I don't recommend this place, place an order thru uber eats at 8pm, they give me an estimated time 8:45pm. 3 drivers went to pick up and the order and the line to pick up was not ready. Finally the 4th driver waited. He pick up at 10pm. I think 2 his are too much to puck up an order. Just had my first sonic experience. Pulled up to the drive in, ordered a #12 (jumbo popcorn chicken) honey bbq with tator tots with a side of ranch and a strawberry cheesecake shake. Although delicious my shake is sadly just cheesecake flavored but the whipped topping kinda kills the flavor and I'm missing strawberries in this. My chicken was fire hot in the container, looked like all the sauce was at the bottom so as I waited for the guy to come back with my ranch to ask him for a fork I shook it up. Opened the container, there were two silver dollar sized pieces and the rest maybe the size of grapes and that's being generous. The sauce wasn't on the bottom. Maybe there was a spoonful, that they microwaved and threw old chicken on top of it because the container I couldn't touch had chicken that was lukewarm. Had to wait 10 minutes for someone to come from the back. Then the cashier had to go to back to charge me because she couldn't with the register in the front. I was extremely psyched to get my first meal from a Sonics and Shadricka went ahead and took the liberty of ruining that experience for me. I went in through the drive-thru but stopped a bit too far from the Ordering Box, since there was a car behind me, I decided to simply go around again. Therefore, I told the employee that I will be right back and as I drive off I hear her say "DON'T COME BACK!" What is that?! Seriously, whoever is doing the hiring here needs to be re-evaluated because this has been the most UNPROFFESIONAL and RUDEST thing I have ever been told by an employee. After hearing that, I really wasn't in the mood to return... but, I had to see the face of such an indecent human. After waiting in line, she came outside to deliver the food to other cars and I nicely asked for a manager. I was completely ignored. After the 5th or 6th attempt of asking nicely for a manager, she said that I had to go inside and ask for her myself. So I did. When I stepped inside, I asked for the manager but had to wait a while (which I understand... she's busy "managing" back there). I explained the situation and she gave me the employee's name (Shadricka Taylor) and said that I had to google "Sonic Beach Complaints" in order to file one.
