I absolutely love this place! It took me a while to discover it but now that I have I have been back many times. North South Grill is a neighborhood gem. Way way better than standard fast food in terms of quality, freshness, and care, but with a relaxed, welcoming environment. They have the best smash burgers in the neighborhood, hands down. They are large, incredibly juicy, always perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. They are my go to but...The attention to detail doesn't stop at the burgers. Their fries and onion rings are beyond delicious. They give you the perfect amount of i rings too- not too many not too few. They are crispy, battered perfectly. On our last visit, my friend ordered the gyro fries loaded with gyro meat, feta, tzatziki, red onions, tomatoes, and Greek dressing., and honestly, that dish is so hearty and rich it could easily be a meal all on its own. If you don't want a burger- the gyros and Greek salads are also fresh and completely delicious. North South Grill has stepped it up. Earlier this week they switched from seed oils to now beef tallow. As we headed out to a game we decided to stop in for a quick bite. The place was empty so we decided to dine in, hubby orders a cheesesteak and I ordered the chicken bacon ranch fries. Both were phenomenal, but mine was a bit heavy on the sauces so I will have to come back and ask for plain fries to be able to taste the difference. We came as soon as they opened lol we had been talking about coming to this place for a long time, and it finally happened! As soon as we walked in we were greeted and the staff was friendly the entire time we were there! The place plays music, it is clean, and a good place overall to enjoy a meal. I was confused because you have options to order Canadian and Greek dishes, but we went ahead and ordered the single patty bacon cheeseburger and the hamburger, since we wanted to try a smash burger. You have the option to make it a combo as well. The portions are huge! Not only are the burgers big, but so are the sides! I ordered my burger with no lettuce and it still came with lettuce and they added mustard to it without me wanting mustard. Besides this minor issue, I would come again. The onion rings were fresh and well seasoned-best part of the meal, imo. The burger was big and filling but taste-wise it was kind of underwhelming, a little disappointing. It's not that it's bad, it's just that I've had better. I didn't like the texture of the smashed patties and the crispy onions was a little too much, plus there wasn't enough sauce on the burger so it was a little dry. North south grill was recommended to me and I finally wanted to give it a shot! Once inside there is a large expansive menu that offers so many different food options. There is so many choices that it's overwhelming. However, I came for the smash burgers and that is what I planned on ordering. I decided on the bacon cheeseburger and we all got a large fry and Greek fry to share along with it. They have a bunch of seating which is also nice too. They were cooked pretty quickly and we were able to start eating in a reasonable amount of time. The burger looked fantastic and it tasted even better. It had a variety of toppings on it, including a special sauce on it similar to a Big Mac sauce. The bacon also tasted fantastic. It was a perfect crisp, with a really nice applewood flavor to it. The potato bun also fit the burger really well. I devoured that burger and every bite was fantastic! When I say it's the best burger I've had in a long time I mean it. I honestly couldn't remember having a better burger out, so major props. The fries were also delicious as they had a nice crisp with a little salt that wasn't too overwhelming.
