The place was empty so we decided to dine in, hubby orders a cheesesteak and I ordered the chicken bacon ranch fries. Both were phenomenal, but mine was a bit heavy on the sauces so I will have to come back and ask for plain fries to be able to taste the difference. It's not that it's bad, it's just that I've had better. I didn't like the texture of the smashed patties and the crispy onions was a little too much, plus there wasn't enough sauce on the burger so it was a little dry. The service was very friendly. The woman at the front counter greeted me and took my order at the counter promptly. Most of the tables were full, but I was able to find an empty seat, though the table was a little dirty. It seemed like there were several regulars there who knew and made conversation with the staff. Once my 1/4 lb. burger and fries combo were ready, the staff brought the burger right to my table. North South Grill heavily advertises the quality of their ingredients on their website, but they had less advertisement about it at their actual store. The burger was solid, though I personally prefer thicker burgers to the smashed kind. They gave a big serving of very fresh but unseasoned fries. This place is amazing small cosy place tucked into a shopping center. Ive been here because people say it has the best burgers. My first smashburger experience, and certainly won't be my last! This location is 40 minutes away from me, but I'd go back every weekend! Its not a huge place, but also not small either. 10ish tables or so, but I hear it gets packed. I went on a rainy day and lucked out, so only 4 of the tables were full. Service was super friendly and happy to make any modifications you wanted. They also clean tables super fast. It seemed like a tidy restaurant altogether. We tried quite a few things! We got a small handful fry and a small onion ring. The onion rings were crispy and the breading wasn't overwhelming. The fries were underwhelming. Not very crispy, not salty, but they do have salt packets there if you want to add some. On the bright side, the small is a pretty big portion! Definitely enough for 2. We wanted to try their chicken tenders and buffalo sauce. These were alright. A good crisp chicken tender, nothing to write home about but would satisfy a chicken tender craving if you have one. Now the STAR of the meal, obviously, the smashburgers. We got a 1/4 pound cheeseburger with grilled onions (they come with raw) and bacon. Then we got a 1/2 pound double hamburger as is (I meant to order a cheeseburger, but honestly the hamburger itself is so flavorful with the toppings that I didnt even miss the cheese.) The patties are crispy on the edges, but still juicy! The north sauce that comes on the burger is AMAZING. Could put that on everything. The tanginess of the pickle, the crunch of the lettuce and onion, the freshness of the tomato...it's literally making my mouth water right now just thinking about it! The bacon and grilled onions were also an excellent combination. I will say, however, this is a messy burger! Definitely don't come here on a first date! For two burgers, fries, onion rings, two chicken tenders and a drink, the total was only $36!! A deal so amazing I almost felt as if we were robbing them!
