Ugh this is probably the worst Sonic we've ever been to and it's the only one in Hutto. Service always takes an excruciatingly long time for even just drinks. The times we've gotten food, one of us always gets sick. We decided to only get drinks after the last food incident. The drinks take between 15-30 mins for two... We called the store after the last visit (30 mins on the nose for 2 sprites). The manager was very kind and apologetic and clearly had a long night. He confirmed my belief that this place is understaffed and just staffed by bad people who don't always show up for work :( I write this review now because despite the last visit being refunded and the manager offering to buy our next meal, every visit prior has always taken a ridiculous amount of time. They have us excited coupons one time for the long wait :/ This sonic needs some solid staffing. Good luck! read more

Seriously, go somewhere else. But you like Sonic you say?? Yeah, not this one. Gave me food poisoning in February (I'm ex food service management, I KNOW it was from Sonic) that laid me out for 2 days and was weeks before I was back to normal. I have sat at the drive-thru order board for several minutes while the staff was visibly goofing off inside. Order may or may not be right. High staff turn-over, so you know it sucks behind the scenes too. Ordered a Reese's Blast with extra Reese's.... got a runny and flavorless slop with an amount of Reese's that wouldn't meet the minimum much less the EXTRA I ordered and PAID for. This is probably the worst sonic I have ever been to which is a shame because I live in Hutto. Every time I crave sonic I decide to give this place ANOTHER chance and each time I am disappointed. Whether I go through the drive-thru or park, my order takes at least 10-15 minutes to come out and then I have to wait 5 more minutes to pay for my order (be it card in drive-thru or cash while parked). My order has been wrong in one way or another EVERY SINGLE TIME. I'm missing a side, my burger doesn't have the specified item I made sure to stress, my drink is wrong, the food is thrown in the bag in a shamble making everything leak everywhere. Sonic is one of my more-enjoyed fast food places because they seem to have a higher quality of food and more interesting menu options than the typical franchise fare. This Hutto location in particular happens to be right on my way between a few noteable locations, so I stop here fairly often if I need a quick road-meal or snack in either direction. And whether I'm getting some late-night Ched'r Peppers to fill a craving, a SuperSonic Breakfast Burrito for breakfast (or lunch--it's served all day), a corn dog for the kids (warning: just because it's "on a stick" does not mean a toddler will eat it neatly), or the more-typical burger/slush fare, there is always good food and beverages to be had here, and the service leaves nothing to complain about. I started to only offer 3 stars because it is a "boring" national chain, but they do a good job here, and I do in fact find myself "a fan." read more

Waited 10 minutes in the drive through line for one meal. 3 chicken strips, french fries and a water. I got out of my car to ask what was taking so long and that i had been waiting for 10 minutes and one meal. I told her that i was about to leave. The girl inside for another 2 minutes. Still with no answer, I got in my car to leave. She caught me before I did and said my order would be out soon. I told her I expected to get a discount or honestly not even pay for my meal because of the horrible service. She said, ummmmm wellll ummmmm. We left. I'm truly losing patience for sonic. Don't come here unless you have 30 minutes to sit and wait for fast food. Even when ordering on the app. Every time I've been here I've waited 20-30 minutes. They always act like that can't hear you speaking through intercom and 90% of the time they get your order wrong. I have to agree that this is the worst Sonic I've been to. It takes a really llooonnngg time to get your food. I once waited 20 minutes for a soda. I would have left, but I had already paid for it. And when you do finally get your food, it is almost always cold or missing items. (For example, today my cheeseburger was undercooked and my wife's mozzarella sticks weren't even there.) Okay I have NEVER written a review about a place before, I've been a server for going on 6 years and understand how stuff like this goes. First off, the 1 star is because I had to click something, if it wasn't for that they'd get a zero. Started off my mom ordered a chicken sandwich, the guy taking our order stated it'd be a little longer than usual no big deal we didn't mind waiting. We ordered a #10 with no mayo, large sweet tea, and tots. Nothing complicated right? The order came out and the young car hop who brought the food..... she needs to either learn customer service or get a new job. That's the rudest I've ever dealt with. Luckily I checked the order before we drove off because he sandwich was seriously COVERED in mayo, and on a regular bun not the bun that is shown on the menu. We clicked the button again to let them know and the 'manager' was absolutely AWFUL. When your customer has a complaint because your staff made the food wrong..... simply accept it and fix it. He made a HUGE deal about my mom trying to get the order correct. We were sharing the sandwich and she can't eat mayo. Then when it came to the bun he stated they got rid of it 6 months ago? Okay, then shouldn't your employees tell people that when they order!? Oh no, he thinks we should just know. I've never ordered that sandwich a day in my life how do you expect me to know? If you don't offer them anymore, take them off the menu. If the menu is out of your control, let your customers know when they order it's not what they're getting. I don't come to this specific sonic anymore due to previous issues with this same manager but my mom was hungry so we stopped by. I will absolutely NEVER be back. I've lived in Hutto almost 20 years and never had an issue until shortly after he took over. Went here for the first time last night. I've been avoiding it because of the low rating but decided to give it a shot for half price burger Tuesday. My order was correct even while being fairly large. The service was quick and the carhop was nice, Everything was hot and fresh and much larger and better than expected. Half price cheeseburger was more filling than a mcdonalds double, chicken tenders were pretty large, mozz sticks were very good and the chili cheese coney was loaded! They even remembered napkins and a fork which I appreciated because I always forget until i realize I need them. I love Sonic. But this specific location has almost ruined it for me. I stopped going to Sonic for a while until I was in Austin last night and ordered a burger from Sonic and it was sooo good. I decided it was only Hutto Sonic that SUCKS!! Everytime I have ordered bacon as an add on, it comes out hard and too crispy. As soon as I order, the food comes out. But not hot and tasty as if fresh. No. It comes out old. Lettuce is brown. Tomatoes are warm and soggy. Bread is a little hard. The people are nice. The manager Venus is nice as well. Please be nice to the carhops! Tip them! They're young and hard working. They look almost traumatized when they're slammed with picky orders. I bet a lot of people are mean and rude to them. It's just burgers people! If you don't like too much mayonnaise, get over it. I think orders get messed up because there's two menus close together and only the second one has the speaker so at first you think they're talking to you so you order and they probably hear both cars ordering. If grownups criticize them they'll just hate work. I dropped one star because any issues are due to management and not the kids. read more

Well. I like sonic, their burgers taste good. I have never thrown french fries away in my life but I am sad to report that I had to the other day. The Hutto location must need help managing or something because they're always out of something and take forever. I would have thought that after almost 20 minutes of waiting, we would have had fresh fries. We needed a quick dinner and this was where we landed. We should have went elsewhere. The packaging stuck to the chili cheese dog and the chili cheese fries, so all of the cheese peeled right off. The burger was mediocre and also stuck to the packaging; and the cherry limeade had no cherry (go figure). The only thing that came out looking appealing was the diet coke.
