We needed a quick dinner and this was where we landed. We should have went elsewhere. The packaging stuck to the chili cheese dog and the chili cheese fries, so all of the cheese peeled right off. The burger was mediocre and also stuck to the packaging; and the cherry limeade had no cherry (go figure). The only thing that came out looking appealing was the diet coke. I LOVE coming to sonic, I just HATE how there are about 5 employees running the whole place & are running around trying to serve about 20 cars at once. They need to hire more people, bottom line. The hop named Lauren just absolutely made a stressful day into one that ended with smiles. We came in for late evening drinks after a long day in Austin. The place was very busy and therefore it was a long wait on our drinks. However, out comes Lauren, gliding like a pro on her roller skates, with a huge smile and sincere apologies. We aren't a family who sweats the small stuff like waiting longer so it wasn't a big deal to us. However, she asked us if she could make us something else on the house. We declined but she insisted. We told her to surprise us and she surely did with a few drinks we had never heard nor thought of. Yes, the wait is long here but with Lauren there, we will certainly become regulars with hopefully many more surprise flavor experiences. read more

We moved to Hutto from the North Texas area and had a favorite Sonic we frequented often. During the summer we have been known to visit 2-3 times a day while working outside or lounging by the pool, for Lemon Berry Slushes or Happy Hour Iced Teas, etc... Since moving to Hutto we live 2 miles from the one on Gattis School in Round Rock and have consistently been disappointed over and over again (that's for their review). So, tonight, my husband said, "Let's drive over to the Sonic in Hutto on 79 and see how they are on service because I'm just really craving a Lemon Berry Slush." Without making this post too long I will just say we ordered a #1 medium combo, a foot long coney and a large Lemon Berry Slush. Our total was $17.59. We asked to see the receipt because that seemed like a lot for what we ordered. They had charged $10.79 for the #1 combo. We asked why the sign says $6.69 for the #1 medium combo. The poor carhop had no idea what the price was even supposed to be or what their sign said and so she sent out the guy who took our order in the drive thru. He could not explain why our #1 medium combo was so much more than stated on the sign and kept repeating, "It's just what the computer added up. I don't have any control over it." We just wanted an explanation as to why it was so much more than the sign said. Regrettably, because of our extreme dissatisfaction with other area Sonics and our dashed hopes at finally hoping to find a "good one" in our new area, things got a little heated and the guy, not knowing how to explain the reason behind the higher price, just said they would cancel our order. (And, no we did not add bacon or a second patty or extra cheese or anything else to the #1 burger that would've made the price higher.) Unfortunately, we are still on the look out for a satisfactory Sonic. read more

This is the WORST Sonic I've ever been too, which really sucks considering how little there is to choose from in Hutto. I have consistently had INCREDIBLY unreasonable wait times, rude staff, wrong orders - but this weekend really took the cake, I decided to give them another shot, because I really like the cherry limeaid there. I got there and quickly realized it was packed in the standing/sitting area, but there was only one car int he drive thru so I figured it couldnt possibly be too long, right? WRONG! I waited for 10 minutes to place my order, then another 27 minutes to receive my food. I ordered a route 44 diet cherry limeaid and a mozzarella sticks. When one of the car hops FINALLY acknowledged me (25 minutes after I placed my order), I told her I was going to need to talk to a manager because it was absolutely ridiculous wait. She was instantly incredibly rude and flippant - but I can see why the employees there think thats okay, because when the manager came out I could clearly tell he doesnt care about customer service at all either. I told him "Look, Ive been in like over 35 minutes for a drink and something that takes 2 minutes to cook by your own company protocol" - yes, I was so angry during the almost 40 minute wait that I looked it up online. His only response was "You can see we're busy, I dont know what to tell you" Really?! I asked for his district manager's name but have been completely unable to reach any sort of customer support from Sonic, including the number on the receipt that said "Have problems? Call **********!". Just absolutely the worst place ever. If you have a time frame, or like to be treated with some form of decency, do not go to this Sonic. read more

Went to sonic tonight for happy hour to buy 4 shakes for my family. I ordered an oreo cheesecake, an oreo peanut butter, and 2 coconut creme pie shakes. After waiting about 20 minutes when the lady came out to give me my order 3 of the drinks were melted and the last one the lady said there was a mess up, So I waited another 5 minutes. When I got home I passed out the shakes I THOUGHT were mine and obviously they weren't. I had received 2 peanut butter cup and 2 cheesecake shakes, on top of the fact they were slow and my shakes were melted. Definitely not a "Happy Hour". read more

The WORST Sonic Drive-in I have been to! I stopped in at about 10 p.m. to grab something quick to eat. I order the chicken strips with small tots. About 5 minutes later, another group of people came by and ordered the same thing, with another item, I think. They got their food ahead of me. I didn't make a big deal of it. I thought mine would be right after theirs--it happens sometimes. My food did not come out. I decided to leave and go down the street to Whataburger. I called them to lodge a complaint, and the guy admitted to watching me drive off. When he got a manager on the phone, all of a sudden there were connection issues, and I couldn't keep them on the phone for more than a few seconds. The Whataburger got me my food in a few minutes, by the way. read more

If you like paying for food u don't receive, go here, or if u like being told that it's ur job to check the bags to make sure ur order is all there, go here. No one ever responded when we pushed the red button in one of the drive up stalls. 20 minutes pushing the button. 6 people inside and only 8 cars outside. What a shame, I really wanted a chili cheese dog. read more

Twice more since my last review I tried this Sonic. If you only have an hour for lunch, you'll spend 25 minutes waiting on food and the order will be wrong. I went back for a drink tonight and waited 20 minutes and no drink. 4 cars there. I left, I couldn't wait any longer. From now on I'm going to pretend Hutto doesn't have a Sonic and go elsewhere. I count at least 4 bays that have cones blocking people from entering. Pulled up to an open one but the credit machine was broken. Pulled up to another one, pressed the order button and 3 minutes later nobody had responded to me even though the screen said someone would answer shortly. Pressed it again and in another 3 minutes same thing. Pulled up to the drive through to order drinks and ice cream for my kid and was told the ice cream machine wasnt freezing right. Finally get my drinks 10 minutes later they are wrong and they didn't put them in a drink carrier even though I ordered 4 and was in the drive through. She comes back out with the fixed drinks along with an empty drink carrier. She hands me the drink carrier which I now have to balance on my lap as she hands me each drink to put in there on my own. This entire process took 30 minutes. Unfortunately most of my experiences here are like that. On the bright side, the people are generally nice. read more

Worst Sonic around. Staff doesn't answer the drive thru nor the stalls. They say they can't hear what you're saying. May repeat it once & get it right but when it's repeated again, they get the order wrong. This has happened multiple times. I'm giving up & not going there anymore. read more

Finally writing a review for this Hutto location after leaving the drive through lane for the THIRD TIME. Three cars in front of us today got their orders and we sat....and sat....and sat with no one asking for our order. After 4 minutes, we left.....again. The last time was about 2 weeks ago and we went to Dairy Queen and spent $18.00. The first time, we left and went to Dairy Queen and spent almost $22. Today - we just went home and have decided this was our last visit to this Sonic. Three times to sit and not being able to order in a reasonable amount of time is two times too many! It was around 5 p.m., so you would think they would be staffed adequately, especially on a Friday. I don't know of any restaurant that can afford to have customers walk/or drive away. Makes me wonder how many other $$$ have left this place???? read more

Time and time again they disappoint. About a year ago I found a roach in my burger. Yuck! I brought it to the managers attention and he treated me like I put it there! I was only hoping for him to take note and maybe try harder to keep his kitchen clean. My family stopped eating there all together. But the hot summer months of Texas came and nothing beats the heat like ice cream. We have been there 2 times this summer and that will be it. First wasn't too bad though they forgot part of my order. The second we waited so long for just a banana split that by the time we received it it was melted! Very Horrible service! I waited 35 minutes for 4 jr deluxe hamburgers and never received my meal. While I was waiting I press the button to see what was going on and the manager rudely disconnected me and cut me off and never brought my meal. Very slow service and horrible people skills read more
