Some people posting reviews here have a lot of conjecture and unreasonable expectations. Someone complained about a wait time, but every time I drive by the line is pretty long, so I'm not sure what their expectation is. You can clearly view the long line of cars as you pull up. Your wasted time is your own fault. It clearly isn't a fancy upscale place. I visited recently when it wasn't as busy and experienced prompt and accurate service. So I will return at some point. Another reviewer complained about NEARDS. What are NEARDS?! Another person arrived as it was closing and complained that they were told it was closed? You don't say?! This place is still busy. If you are expecting to super-speedy service, wait for the buzz to die down. Every newly opened place goes through some growing pains. Some people on this site are just ridiculous. It's a Sonic and it satisfies all the criteria of a Sonic. I was going to give it 4 stars because it isn't amazing, but now I'll give it 5 to compensate for all the idiots on yelp dinging it for simply being a busy fast food place. read more

BEWARE! I'm from VABEACH and their Sonics is managed perfectly and they are super clean! I was so happy when I heard They were opening here in Manassas Va. But OMG! this place is TERRIBLE! It's ran terribly ! They messed my order up not 1 not 2 but three times in one day . Their customer service is horrible ! I have never in my life experienced such bad service . That's actually not my biggest complaint . Surprisingly. I decided to go inside to return my incorrect order for the third time . I will tell you this, while I stood at register , I looked in the kitchen and there were so many people laughing , talking over peoples food . It was so dirty ! and look so unsanitary . Also it look like they were having a party and Not paying attention because my order was messed up 3 times. Unbelievable and truly sad that they are doing such an injustice to such a great franchise. Food was delicious. I ordered classics Coney Chilli Cheese hotdogs & Cherry Limeade. My family all ordered burgers and were only kinda satisfied. I also had Cheddar Jalepeno Peppers...they were good, but would have been GREAT with fresh ranch. I'm not a fan of room temperature ranch packets. The seating options were plentiful (drive thru, parking bays, and indoor seating) The cashier worked very hard to take, pickup, and deliver orders to indoor seating AND bays! He was very pleasant ( I didn't get his name, but he's very young ..with a man bun) This location could use more staff to take indoor orders and more ppl to pickup and deliver food. Went there 2 weeks after it was open. Parked in front of the drive thru intercom for 15 min due to "system update". Ordered a burger, received a breakfast sandwich, it was sub par. Went with my coworkers today. Ordered a texas toast burger, no cheese, double patty. Received the burger with cheese, sent it back. They incorrectly corrected my order by handing me back the burger with no cheese, but now missing the extra patty. Sent it back again. Upon getting my correct order, i took a whiff before biting into it. The smell was absolutely horrible, totally killed my appetite. Couldn't even finish half of it. Here were the problems with my coworkers order: Co Worker #1 Asked for chili cheese on his tots.... guess what he didn't get? Co Worker #2 Ordered the Chili Cheese bites, the chili wasn't cooked... i have no idea how they managed that, but they did it Co Worker #3 Ordered 2 corn dogs. The meat inside the corn dogs was GRAY. Poor customer service followed by a lack of trained and courteous staff. When you do finally get service, doesn't matter if it's inside or drive through. HORRENDOUSLY SLOW, BAD SERVICE spent 15 minutes waiting in the drive thru line (which is blocked off so you cant leave once you're in line), pull up to the intercom and ask for a bacon chzburger, no onions. she says it doesn't come with onions, which is completely pointless information when I'm begging her to just ring in my order cause it's raining. i say fine, a bacon chzburger and ask her to ring in my order because it is POURING rain and I'm getting drenched (because there's no rain cover over the intercom, which i thought was standard at this point, especially with it being new construction) another 15 minutes go by (30 minutes in a drive thru!) and i finally get to the window, at this point I'm late for work. come to find they never rang in my order. they give me a free burger which was cool (only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1), but as i waited (more waiting!!) i get a good look at the kitchen workers. there are about 10 people. maybe 3 of them are trying to accomplish tasks. the rest are standing around chatting and laughing amongst themselves, doing absolutely nothing to earn their wage. i waited a half hour in a drive thru because the workers simply ARE NOT WORKING. meanwhile there's still a line of cars 10+ deep behind me, full of hungry people literally trapped waiting for the 30% of employees actually doing something. absolutely infuriating. management clearly does not care at all i will not be coming back read more

If I could give this Sonic ZERO stars I would. Don't waste your time. Got to Sonic before it closed and the guy holding the cones and what looked to be his manager (a woman) let us through. We waited 15 minutes at the intercom and NO answer. We pulled up to the window and the guy told us it was closed, we told them we had arrived before it closed and the guy with the cones had let us through. One guy told us "you can get what we have" and had said the car in front of us was the last car. This Sonic needs some better employees because they clearly can't see or their manager. This Sonic is constantly out of different items. In addition I placed an order for an iced coffee and a slushy through the mobile app. After paying for the order and driving to the store, I was told they didn't have the ingredients to make the coffee. I requested a refund and was told to call the number on the app. I did that and was offered a reward for a coffee or a gift card, both of which I declined because I do not typically go to Sonic. Then I was told they couldn't do partial refunds and since I had accepted part of the order they would escalate to the store, who still has not contacted me or provided a refund. There are 5 food places within 30 seconds of this location and a new Cookout opening at the other end of Manassas. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else to get something to eat or drink. It's Sonic aka fast food a new option to the Manassas location. Not sure what others below me feel like a entitled high valued guest where they deserve to be seated on their throne while waving their pinky up. I went through the drive thru about 9:55am and the line was average wait time for me 5-7mins between McDonalds and Chick fil-A. The staff was friendly and gave my food out in a prompt time. It was hot as well breakfast burrito, tots and a sweet tea. If you been to other sonic's in VA whether it was Fredericksburg or Winchester the lines have been just as long. I'm ready for the haters to not come back so I can enjoy more good food. read more

It an embarrassment to Sonics across the country. As an avid Sonic fan I was looking forward to one being opened within an hour of my home. Sadly, the experience was not only disappointing, but makes me wonder what Sonic corporate does to select franchise owners and then allow a store to open when it was clearly not prepared and run by people not knowledgeable in the fast food industry. 1) Besides the unnecessarily long wait - they only took cash (surprise to everyone in line...) 2) While lots of sonic T-shirt wearing Sonic personnel, there were a lot looking around, doing nothing (for the full 20 minutes I could see them from the line.) This is a HUGE management problem!! 3) People in drive thru waited longer than I did inside 4) There are only 6 park in spots with a large parking lot and eat in area - that's not Sonic, it's McDonalds.... Wow. Went the other day... no one inside it took 15 mins to get food. Okay.. not the worst but still ... tonight. Same scenario walked right up and ordered wo a line... after 25 mins of no food (and the people who ordered in front of me now finishing their food) I gave the shift leader my receipt ... he took it back.. about 5 min later he came out with food. This is probably my favorite establishment in CALIFORNIA. Sadly it seems Virginia cannot get it together. I'm writing this completely understanding this is a NEW establishment in Manassas. You'd think this place was running packed but smoothly. OPPOSITE. The have ran out of numerous items and take the longest to get food prepped. They have 1 cashier going in the worlds longest line and the demand is high, money is being made but it appears to be a management issue right from the start. I had to wait in the line for about 20 minutes all the way out into the road. After we left we ate and our food was absolutely terrible. I had gotten kids meals and the kids hated it. The kids meal burgers were falling apart and so over cooked and didn't taste good at all. The onion rings I had gotten were all slimy and the breading was completely off of it and couldn't even chew the breading that was on the onion rings. Almost didn't want to try this sonic cause of all the negative reviews but we were really craving it and were surprised to find it cause we didn't even know one was this close to us! ANYWAYS.. We were pleased to find out that our order was hot, what we asked for and our wait in the drive thru was only about 15 minutes.. pretty standard for a fast food joint when busy at 7pm. The place was packed. Our only disappointment was that the girl working the drive thru was not polite in anyway. I said thank you and was kind and tried to engage with her and she glared and closed the window. Never had that happen but maybe she's having a real bad day. I've worked in food service before and never treated a customer like that unless they truly were being rude or unruly. Hopefully their level of good customer service/politeness improves but overall we were satisfied with our visit and will be back. read more

So very disappointed with Sonic. Gave them another chance after the glass incident and haven't had any further issues other than slow service until the 4th of May. App allowed us to order shakes around 8 pm on the 4th at this location. Got there and it was quite obviously closed. Sign said open, but no lights, doors locked, drive through and all ordering bays blocked off and unable to check in to pick up order. No spots at drive-in windows, so I walked in, which is weird for sonic. Waited 15 mins for someone to take my order. Card reader didn't work a so they could only accept cash. I rarely have cash, but I had some for my haircut so I used it to get a cony dog. I waited only about 10 mins but the dining room was so dirty I took it to my car. But all the toppings slid off even though I was very careful, likely slid off when it was put in the packaging. I'm sure people have good experiences here but not me and it looks like I'm not in the minority. I was dying for a Sonic but this wasn't the sonic I wanted. So disappointed. read more

Apparently the grill was busted, or something else was seriously wrong in the back, since they couldn't make burgers or chicken sandwiches. We came early and the place was half-empty, but service was slooow. More than 15 minutes for the food we did order to emerge. It's only been open a couple of weeks, but come on.
