This location is an absolute disaster and should honestly be shut down until someone competent is in charge. We waited an absurd amount of time for our food with zero communication from staff. The kiosk repeatedly claimed that multiple employees were "on the way" to deliver our order, which never happened. No one bothered to tell us that we were apparently expected to walk up to the window ourselves. We sat there trusting the system while being completely ignored. When we finally called to ask what was going on, the man on the phone was shockingly rude, aggressive, and borderline violent in his tone. Instead of helping, he spoke to us like we were an inconvenience for expecting basic service. It was hostile, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable. The entire place felt chaotic and unsafe, with people lingering around the property and no visible staff managing the situation or providing any direction. This Sonic is disorganized, misleading, and clearly has serious issues with staffing, training, and basic customer service. Save yourself the time and frustration. Horrible place. Waited almost an hour for food even though it was a mobile order. One hour for fast food? Yeah, I was pretty confused. We went through drive thru and order wasn't ready even though app said it was. Lady told us to park the car and wait for our food. It didn't come, so my husband literally walked through the drive thru to get our order. Still had to wait. Order finally came. Lady had to ask a few times what the contents of our order was to make sure it was the right one. Not sure why she couldn't look it up by our order number or name. Mozzarella sticks had no cheese. I visited on a Thursday night around 8 PM and parked in the drive-through to order a shake. After waiting for 4 minutes, an employee informed me that the parked car delivery was closed and only the drive-through was open. They also mentioned that they were only accepting cash. We moved to the drive-through and tried to order a shake, but were told that they were either out of shakes or the machine was not working--I can't remember exactly. I've avoided this location in recent months because, every time I've ordered through various delivery sites, something is always missing and the response from the restaurant is typically "you'll have to come get it". Against my better judgement, I gave them another chance tonight. Staying true to brand, they forgot half the order. The half they decided to give included a bacon cheeseburger toaster that was missing the burger patty and onion rings. So, basically a BLT with two strips of Fakin Bacon. This is my second review with Sonic Drive Through in Newark NJ on Springfield avenue. My first review was not good because the burger was cold when I ordered it at 11:30am! And it tasted horrible. Today I decided to try the chicken sandwhich, crunchy version and it was uncooked in the middle! Absolutely disgusting!!! I called to complain and I was told I could bring the sandwich back in for a refund but I could not get back there so I am leaving this review. Their drinks are good in this location but that's it. Most of the employees here are super nice and helpful. But I'm writing this review about a specific employee who was exceptional. I came to this location around 1am and ordered some food. I was met at the window by a very condescending female associate when I asked for a drink at the window. She told me she was not going to give it to me because it's " Too Late" for her to add on a drink, which I've done multiple times. I don't understand why she was giving me such a hard time maybe she was having a bad day but her tone & condescending verbiage was literally unacceptable. The crappiest grilled chicken sandwich I ever had. No lettuce and tomatoes as shown in the picture. We also ordered a bacon cheese burger and when we got the food there was no bacon. Unprepared and needs an overhaul in staffing, very unorganized, came to order a slushee and that took approximately 35 mins, during this time i saw 1 host go to 4 cars trying to deliver 1 order, other hosts cussing with each other in the back! When the order was given to customer in car and it was wrong the hosts claimed it was in bottom of bag of course outraged that the order wasn't there that customer came inside and demanded a refund! I would not suggest this location anymore until they are better organized and the hosts learn proper customer service! The people are lazy. I came at 4 am and asked to place an order and they told me their systems were down between 4-5 am. I called at 4:50 to ask if i could place an order and they informed me that you could not place an order through the phone. I asked if i could order through the drive thru and she said yes. When i got to the place, they again did not answer the machine and stated their machine was down. I told her I had just called maybe 10-20 minutes ago and couldn't believe they were telling me the system was down. Worst customer service, and people that do not want to work. You can't expect much from fast food but at minimum you expect to get what you ask for. This location takes unnecessary short cuts. We placed a small order for a few items nothing crazy. I asked for burgers without pickles and they took the easy way out. It was obvious that instead of making two fresh burgers which I'm sure would have taken minutes they simply pulled the pickles off of whatever they had lying around.
