I thought the whole park and order from your car idea was interesting but not that different from going through a drive through and then parking in the lot. The only difference is you are waited on, sort of. The food was okay, the burger I had was definitely better than your every day carls jr. or mac donalds, but it would not be worth the drive to try and find one. This is one of the slowest sonics I have ever been to. At this moment I am sitting in the drive thru it has officially been 25 min. It's a little ridiculous, I understand that there may be a large amount of customers but the drive thru should be fast functioning. Another incident with this sonic: They open at 8am, & one morning me and my family went there at 8:20, and got in the drive through. After sitting in the drive thru for 5 min an employee came on the speaker to inform us that they were in a meeting and would not be functioning until 8:40-9 ish. They specifically have it posted on the sonic site that they open at 8. If they needed to conduct a meeting perhaps it should have been before the actual functioning hours of the restaurant. Other than that the employees did seem very friendly and apologetic. These incidents were possibly at the fault of higher up and set the guidelines on how to conduct things. read more

I always come to this sonic since it within minutes of my house. Today I came in at 7:50 asked for 4 large strawberry cheesecake shakes and a mini strawberry cheesecake shake. Was told by an employee that if I waited then they would be half price. I asked to speak to the manager and she comes out thinking she the shit refuses to accept that I was promised half price at 8 and that she can't over ride. She refuses to help. So the food is ok. The onion rings are funky though, they're strangely sweet tasting.I mostly go for the shakes and slushis. My problem with this place is the customer service. I've been coming to this location since it first opened, there's always some problem. I can remember a handful of times sitting in the drive thru and no one would say anything over the intercom for a good while. A few times the cars ahead of us would just drive off because of it. People get upset when they come here but honestly you see it's busy they should expect a little wait. The workers are very friendly and work extremely hard. You tell me - The guy gave us our bags with most of the food in it and then we double checked and there was a missing bag of tots, so he actually wanted us to hand the bags back in through the window so that he could count them!! My kids and i love coming to sonic for a nice slushee or ice cream on a hot day. I have been to a handful of them in my life and its sad to see most of them do not have skating servers. Today i visited and ordered 2 kids meals and a oreo blast. My kids were beyond fascinated with a server by the name of Van Pelt as they watched him fly by over and over as we waited. I used to like Sonic. I went today for lunch and got the number 3. This is a bacon cheeseburger and tots and a drink. I asked for a coke with cherries but not cherry flavoring and the burger with no lettuce and extra mayo. My boyfriend got a number 3 with no pickles, just to put the pickles on the side and a regular coke. My burger had no mayo so I asked for a side of mayo. They brought packs of light mayo out, which tastes completely different. My coke had a massive amount of cherry flavoring. We let the carhop know that my coke was supposed to have cherries but not cherry flavoring. He was very rude and said, "Well why not just order a plain coke then?" I wanted cherries fucktard!! Everything also took a very long time. It took at least ten minutes just to get ranch when we asked for it. Unimpressed!! The only reason I gave it two stars was because our shake tasted good. Been wanting to try this place, now sorry I bothered. I pulled into a spot for service, took one look at the filthy order stand & decided to go thru the drive-thru. No wonder that at Noon today they weren't doing any business! The drive thru window was filthy with greasy fingerprints, the counter had been sloppily wiped, no concern for the edges or corners, they were dusty & dirty. Pulled into a different place to eat & didn't enjoy the view there, another filthy stand, the parking areas looked like many people had spilled food & drink on them. Waited in line for over 30 minutes only because I was stuck between cars that would not move. There was a fight in the front no one was taking any orders just having everyone waiting in line for nothing. I yelled at the person in front of me to move out of line to let us get out because obviously they weren't able to take his order they wouldn't be able to take mine and he moved to the window and there was a lady asking him what his order was making us wait some more. Once the man drove off we arrived to the window and decided to make an order, the woman did not even apologize for the wait or offer any type of discount, all she said was there is a fight in the front. We finally ordered just for this lady to give us the wrong order and charge us the wrong amount so we tell her and she takes back our receipt makes us give her back our change and gives us a new receipt and less change with the wrong order again !!! Ridiculous, if I can get a hold of who ever runs this place they will not be able to shut me up. Worst experience ever these people you hire need to be retrained because clearly they can not count or let alone do their job. Don't come here people save your money and go grocery shopping and make it yourself waste of f-ing time!! Horrible service!! I didn't even get to order. Why? well because I was in the drive thru and told the person (Ashley) to give me a minute to decide since it was my first time going there. After having decided what I wanted I called her back on the speaker, and she rudely tells us that they are not taking ANY cards as a form of payment, only cash. So I was disappointed that she didn't tell me first hand about there "situation" rather then getting my hopes up to order and then be rejected. I had to wait in the line to get out and in doing so I see the car in front of us pay with a card. It made me wonder, "well maybe the cashier won't be able to take it and let the people know." This was not the case, they were able to pay with the card, this made me want to get down and ask for the manager to see if what Ashley had said was true. I did not, but this was very disappointing. So what to say about sonic...well it is only the best place on earth...I think! When you live in Lancaster you really have to do your research on places around here cause they kept on advertising for Sonic and i was like man i want to go there so bad but there is none around here but then *BAM* there it was right across the street from Joann's and Wal-Mart...a sonic so I went over there i sat outside an placed my order and the service was so fast and the food was really good and they had my order right on the 1st try. i got burger and man was it good or what! i would defiantly go back and i love how you can pull up in your car and eat in your car there are not many drives in left and i love this. Now they just have to put some drive in movie theaters around and we would be all good. One last thing I like about sonic is they always have deals going on like at 5 they have happy hour and you can get any drink for half price, cant beat that and if you sign up for there newsletter you can get coupons. They sent me a coupon for a buy one meal and the next day you can go back and get another meal for FREE! awesome! so that is what i love about sonic so if you have not been there you must go and have fun. read more

We waited for 15 min for girl to take our order. After pushing darn red button. No I will be right with you, nothing. My 10 year old daughter was ordering then rudely cut her off and poof the person talking to us was gone. The ppl next to us got there min. prior us ordering. Raised in Texas, I got quite nostalgic finding a Sonic drive-in in Palmdale. My family and I enjoyed their burgers, pop corn chicken & chilli dogs, onion rings and fries with some soda and milk shakes. Food got out in time and was warm, delicious and very enjoyable. Very slow service. The car hop takes about five minutes just for them to take your order with an additional ten plus minutes to get your food/drinks. The drive thru line is almost always long, which would make you think that the car hop would be quicker. But it is not. They cater to the drive thru while leaving the car hop people waiting. Very slow either way. I love sonic, but I would rather go to McDonald's because at least that way I will actually get my food at a reasonable time. read more

I ordered the number 1 combo with tater tots and it tastes just like high school cafeteria food!! It really took me back I guess that was the only good thing about that. The last 2 times I've gone the wait times were ridiculous. Half the time the slushie machine isn't working & you don't find out until you've already waited in the drive thru line for 12 minutes. The last time I went it took 37 minutes for my food to be delivered to my car, that was only after I buzzed them with the intercom again. The gentleman brought my food to my car, but he didn't bring any ketchup, I asked for it & waited another 10 minutes, still no ketchup. My kids were freaking out at this point from waiting for so long. I gave them one more chance a few weeks later, still ridiculously long wait times and didn't have the items I went for. This place has a weird dine-in, it's kind of confusing but nice, I guess. Anyways, we ordered our food and it wasn't a lot, just a burger, two drinks, a corn dog, and a shake and it came a half hour later, more like days later, but other people got here after us and they got their food and it was small too like two drinks. Usually the food is pretty good here, love the buffalo flavered boneless wings and love the tater tots, no place offers this that often, the times ive came here usually on weekend nights or early in the night it can take a bit to get your food, you can wait 10 minutes for an order.
