Wow. I have never seen a Sonic with such poor handling of customers. My group pulled into a car spot, figured out what we wanted, and pressed the red "order" button. Five minutes of the light flashing passes before we are able to order. I'm a patient person, I know Friday nights are crazy.. but for us to wait forty minutes and see three cars come and go... it's insane. What really sucked, was when we finally got our food.. it's like it was made fifteen minutes ago and then forgotten. I just left Sonic after placing an order. We called attention to the fact that we hadn't received our order after 30 minutes of waiting. We were met with an apology and "your order will be right out." After another 20 minutes passed and the new arrival of cars on both sides of us were receiving their order, we chimed in again only to be asked "what did you order?" "Oh my word!!!". The Sonic commercial got me. The food always looked so good. Drove from Santa Clarita to Palmdale just to eat at Sonic. I got to say I was very disappointed. I order combo 1 and 3 Bacon cheeseburger with other stuff. The burgers and fries were cold. The meat was burned. I couldn't even eat it. My hubs and I stopped by SDI the other day and since I didn't feel like anything and the hubs had to make a pee stop, we decided to pull into a spot and ordered a large peanut butter chocolate shake. It took a few minutes after I pushed the call button for someone to get to us and about 20 minutes later, we finally got out shake. They were pretty busy, but c'mon...a shake? I didn't know this before but you do have the option of paying cash if you decide you don't want to pay with a card. This S layout is a bit congested and not designed like most, which having car spots you drive into an angel. Most of the cars I saw pulling in, along with myself, had to do a 2 or 3 point turn to fit into the spot. The drink ended up being pretty thick and not filled up the whole way, but it was pretty tasty. If we ever come back here, we are definitely going to hit up the drive thru...and so should you. There's plenty of parking around the shopping center, so I would highly recommend going through the drive thru and parking outside the SDI. read more

Burgers are ok, not, good, not great, hot dogs items are ok, and everything else they have its average but the MOZZARELLA STICKS now that is bomb!!!....Area is clean, service is fast, customer service is good and the time you get your food honestly is good this certain day it was busy though but I've been there before and usually is fast. Ordered through the app and the app wasn't showing my order so I called JUST TO CONFIRM MY ORDER WAS RECEIVED, and they stated they received my order and would be bringing it out. Been here for 40 minutes and just got my incomplete order (qty wise) which wasn't our order. I got 1/5 burgers. So I asked if the rest of my order was coming, she stated that what she handed me was my order, so I told her that I had a big order and again confirmed if they had received it or not. Woman asked for the 1 burger back and said it belonged to the next customer. I told her we would just pay for it because we already touched it but she said she has to throw it out. Told her again to just charge us because we've been waiting too long for an order that's wasn't even given to us yet. I've heard such great things about Sonic and I'm typically a fan of anywhere that has tater tots on the menu, but a visit to this location was a disappointment. Due to the cold weather we opted to use the drive-thru and ordered two cheeseburgers and chili cheese fries. We stopped to eat no more than 5 minutes later and both burgers were cold! The meat looked cooked, but was cold when you chewed eat. Not very appetizing. On top of the cold burgers, they messed up our order and put mayo when it should have been mustard on one of the burgers. The cheese wasn't even melted completely and the tomato was hard and flavorless. The chili cheese fries were the saving grace of this meal. The cheese was melted and the chili was lukewarm. If I do come back it won't be for the food, but to try a milkshake. Save your money and go elsewhere if you want a burger with hot meat. read more

There are a few things I've tried at Sonic and all have been OK to say the least. To be honest I don't go so much for the food as I do for the experience. Where else are you going to get that drive in environment? You can go with your buddies and hang out while having an inexpensive meal and never have to leave the comfort of your car, well depending on what kind of car you have. If I had a sweet 79 ford Pinto you would not be able to get me out of that parking lot. The only locations I've visited are in Anaheim and Palmdale so it may be a bit difficult to make the trip for most of you out there. If you are ever passing through try and make the side trip. The food won't knock your socks off but you'll still have a some fun. I have no idea why I keep coming here. I order food for just myself and it takes 20 mins plus to get anything. Once I ordered just a shake and it took 20 mins. I used to work at sonic and I would be fired if i took 20 mins to make a shake. I know that covid is going on but this place is always busy. So why isn't it staffed to reflect the business. Absolutely terrible. I LOVE Sonic and since I was in Palmdale, I was happy to stop in. The man taking the order got 2 of my 3 items wrong. Asked for watermelon with grape slush, was given plain grape. When I told him he just said "grape is just the stronger flavor". Wrong, I've had it many times and it was always a nice combination. I was given fries instead of tots. Took 5 minutes to correct that gem. My burger was as if it was made the night before. Completely stale tasting. Took one bite and threw it out. Drive through takes forever, drive up takes forever, order has been wrong three times in a row and the employees get pissed at us like it's our fault they gave us the wrong drinks (all we ever order is drinks and ice).
