Everytime I attempt to patronize this particular Sonic, the food is cold even after waiting for way longer than supposed to...I ordered cheesetots and after 16mins of waiting I buzzed in and their response was "oh let me find your order"...I was one of only 2 cars in the lot...how did they lose a simple order?? The good first: Yummy slushie drinks, roller skating car hops (and a drive thru if you don't want to wait for all that), excellent fries, tater tots, chicken strips and hot dogs. Also lots of afternoon drink/slushie deals. Conveniently located in the Walmart parking lot. Cons: The burgers are horrible (chicken and beef) the buns taste weird and their sauce is gross. Not sure, but if do get stuck in this part of town, make sure to stop by and try the burgers. The gals do rollerblade to and from your car just like roller girl (Heather Graham) in 1997's Boogie Nights. If we still settled things like they did in ancient Rome, there would definitely be a match between In-n-Out and Sonic. I could see some blonde California kid with the paper hat and the red apron and a kid on roller skates battling it out in the Coliseum. Maybe throw a lion in the ring just to mix it up... not sure yet on the details of the match, but I am going to go ahead and predict the outcome of the battle. Its a draw. I've had Sonic twice now and really, its a burger joint. Their menu is way more extensive than In-n-out, but when it comes down to it, the taste of the burger is about equal to their rival. I had their regular cheeseburger combo twice- once with fries and a cherry-limeaide and once with tots and a diet coke. Both times were really outstanding. The food is not great but I am a fan of the happy hour AND THE SLUSHIES-OUT OF THIS WORLD! where else can you go get the best slush of your life for $1? It's a different place to go when you want something quick, although the happy hour lines can get insane, they are always willing to accommodate you even if your order gets in a little paso the happy hour due to the lines. Save yourself some grief - don't go here. My second visit here was completely miserable. First, there was a problem with the "press to order" button. I finally flagged down someone and got the button to work. I placed our order and waited. And waited. And waited. Then the food finally came. Two out of five items were wrong. So we waited for replacement items. Once we got the right food it was pretty good. Then I went to wash my hands and the restrooms were "closed for repair". How can a fast food restaurant be so bad at ordering, making and delivering food? It is a lot of hassle to eat here compared to any place else. read more

This location needs to get on their game. We pressed the speaker button to order and it took them about 10 mins to start taking our order. We started ordering - the girl taking our order kept telling us that what we wanted was an extra cost and is not part of the meal when it clearly showed on the printed menu that is was. She assured us it was not. She then put us on hold mid ordering and about 15 mins later the roller guy came to deliver our food. We told him that we never finished giving our order and that the girl put us on hold. Roller guy went back and then someone came on the speaker to finish taking the order. We came here for the banana shake which they were out of!! So we waited through all this 25 mins mess to finally find out they didn't have anymore of the banana shakes! Another 15 mins later our food arrives and of course what we wanted as part of the combo was not an extra cost!! Just as we thought and tried to explain to the girl who should know her own menu! I really hope they upgrade their pull-up and park and order menu to a nice touch screen like they have In other places! Service is exceptional out here. I think the COmpany needs better intercoms for their employees to do their job right! I say this because they had gotten my order wrong, I asked for 2 different toys and I got the same ones. This is an "ok" Sonic. My kids love it and that is the ONLY reason we continue to be saddled to this place. The more I come here, the less I want to come back. After 8, the shakes are half priced. That's a deal because we have four kids and I usually reward good behavior with a trip to Sonic for a shake. Well, maybe I bribe them. They have a pretty decent selection of shakes because you can mix flavors. Easy though, more than one flavor and you will be paying an extra amount per flavor. Tonight's visit was terrible. When we arrived, we could see that they were clearly busy but after 8 on a Saturday I could understand a fair amount of traffic. The car stalls were full and the front area where you can order was packed. However, on further inspection, we realized that the cars in the stalls were not occupied and the owners of the cars were sitting in the front tables eating there! Um hello, there is Sonic parking that wouldn't take up a place to order and this Sonic is located in a Wal-Mart parking lot, so there are TONS of spaces available. People are just lazy. It's not Sonic's fault that people don't feel like being decent human beings and parking in the allotted spaces for parking, however, the parking issue forced us to the drive through where we waited for 20 minutes. Not once did a Sonic employee ask the people to more their cars. That brings me to the drive thru service... After a good ten minutes, we got to the speaker and were assaulted by a loud, unintelligible employee barking into the speaker. We assumed she wanted our order so we gave it to her. Another ten minutes later, we go to the window where we paid and she shoved a coupon for a free large drink into our car. Well thanks Sonic, but I don't think a free large drink is equating to the terrible service, rude employees, wasted gas in the drive thru and absolute lack of consideration we received. read more

Ok I'm not the one to write bad reviews. This review is for the quality of food not the employees. My friend from college came to visit and she wanted to check Sonics out. Unfortunately for me the nearest one to me is in Palmdale. about 40 mile from my home. The person that took our order was great. A sweet young man that was very nice. he had a smile on his face and took our order and got all of it right. We got our food. The order was correct. I'm just unsure how a fast food place can serve meat that looks grey and so unappetizing? At first I loved around to see if maybe we got a bad couple burgers but then I saw that everyone had the same looking meat. It was a very weird grayish blue color. I mean I know that fast food is not good for you or that you cant expect anything from it. but common All the other fast food chains don't serve meat that looks that bad. Super disappointed; My 7 year old is with me and hes never been or seen a Sonic drive thru, he thought it was super cool to be here, he thought he was going to get the television commercial experience ....not even close . We came in at 12:10 pm, 4 cars on the lot it took 20 minutes,I finally had to call in and see what was going on.. the kid apologized and still waited another ten more minutes I had to go inside, my food was cold it was the worst experience ever this place sucks. These freaken commercials about Sonic had me going on a wild goose chase. I searched high and low for one and found nothing until I mentioned it to my boyfriend and surprise, surprise he knew of one in his neck of the woods. Awesomeness!! We pulled up on a Thursday night and found the place pretty deserted which was better for us. We ordered, were able to pay right then and there and then they brought us our food on roller skates. It's really sad. I grew up in Oklahoma with Sonic and NEVER had a problem with them like I had at this one. And this isn't even the first time I've had problems. I pulled in to the slip, pressed the call button and waited almost 10 minutes for someone to answer. I should have seen this as a sign. When Andy finally came on to take my order, he read everything back to me correctly. Then I proceeded to wait... And wait... And wait... And wait... And wait... (are you noticing the patten here?) After twenty minutes of sitting and watching other cars who came in after I did get their orders before me, I left. No food and thirty minutes of my life I'll never get back. As I said, this isn't the first time I've had service issues with this place. Usually the issues involve unreasonable wait times. I called and spoke to the manager, of course it took close to five minutes before anyone even answered the phone! The manager I spoke with sounded like he was working there just to pay his way through acting school. He offered no compensation for my time or inconvenience. I hope the general manager or the franchise owner sees this and takes to heart that s/he needs to do something about this. read more

The idea behind Sonics is fantastic, however they fall far from expectation. I defiantly recommending visiting sonics atleast once in your life, as it is a cool experience. The problem is their food is mediocre at best and they are SLOW. They have some really cool things going for them, like the drive-in experience, slushy happy hour, and the variety in their food. The problem is pretty simple, food isnt that great, their service is slow, and their employees dont seem to want to be there, which in return ruins the 50' drive-in dinner feel. I usually don't dislike this Sonic, but this day was the worst. It was extremely hot and I was dying for frozen blue raspberry lemonade. Of course the machine was down. Okay day not completely ruined, I just order the same drink, just not frozen. I get to the window and the cashier opens the window and doesn't say "hi" or "good afternoon", but " what did you order?" Okay, I can maybe forget that just so I can taste a nice slush. I tell her "a BLUE raspberry lemonade." She closes the window, comes back with the drink, and I look down to find my lemonade not BLUE! I said, "yeah I order a BLUE raspberry lemonade," and she proceed to tell me, "oh I thought you said raspberry lemonade." Awesome! A Sonic within an hour of the SCV. This Sonic is so much better than the other option I have used, the Sonic in Anaheim. Their onion rings are awesome, their drinks, shakes and slushes are the best! I go for the Route 44 size cherry limeade. The staff here is very cool and into the action. Several were skating around on roller skates. They seemed surprised to get a tip. Sorry, but if you are going to bring food to my car on roller skates, I think a small tip is in order. read more

I love Sonic. Unfortunately there are almost none in the Los Angeles/OC area. I've been going to the one in Anaheim for years and I was so glad when this one opened. This one is much better. It's newer and the service is much better and faster. I'd much rather go to this one. I've never had any problems with them getting my order right. Most of the workers are very cheery and helpful, and others, well, they are like your average fast food worker. Apparently they opened another one in Mission Viejo, but that's too far for me. read more

Update: Today Saturday October 29th we came here are 1:33. We ordered 1 slushy, 1 smoothie.. It took 1 hour to get 1 slushy and 1 smoothie that's all. That's horrible service, and super slow! Seriously do you need to hire more people? This is the slowest sonic we have ever been to. How long does it take to make 2 drinks! ******************************************* I went here on Saturday, service was slow for a weekend. This is my first time at this location. We waited for a good 30 minutes for order to be taken. When the man appeared on the speaker, he seemed occupied. Took another 10 minutes for us to order 2 slushies, wings and cheeseburger. When food and drinks came out server was not on rollerskates. The slushies was good, even though I asked for no actual lemon in my drink, just the lemon juice (lemon berry) and when my straw got stuck on something the lemon rine and all was in the drink when I asked for it not to be. I got a bad stomach ache from the cheeseburger. I think next time I go there I'll just get the slushies. But it was happy hour for the slushies! Glad they still offer that! read more

Usually Sonic is pretty but this is the second time that they blatantly got the order wrong even though they repeated it back correctly. This time it should have been simple just two Double Cheeseburgers and two Icees, what we got was two regular cheeseburgers and the drinks but charged for the Double burgers, when we called to complain all we were told is we could come back and purchase the correct order nothing about they would correct it. 1. The roller blade service is awesome... I gotta give them that, but that is about all I will give them. 2. This place is definitely not what it is hyped up to be. I left with disappointment and a sick feeling from all the unappetizing drenched in grease food. I ordered a coney hotdog, with cheese and chilli tots. The bun was cheap and semi stale. The hotdog had an artificial beefy hotdog flavor, and I also bit into some little weird pieces that had the texture of solid pop rocks. The tater tots were extremely greasy, and I just felt terrible the whole night. I also ordered a cherry limade and it just tasted like pure artificial syrup mixed with ice. Junk food in general is terrible obviously, but for all the brag, I suggest you pay a little more attention to improving these things. read more
