I've been reading reviews about the parking and button situation, and honestly--that's not on the employees. If the system isn't working the way it's supposed to, just bypass the parking stalls, hit the drive-through, and park. Easy fix. Now... food talk. I've had Sonic before and it was meh. BUT this location? Whole different story. We've gotten food here two days in a row, during the day/afternoon, and YUM. Everything was fresh, hot, and actually tasted like it was made with intention. We both got smash burgers, plus fries, onion rings, and a cherry limeade on my end--so dang good. Big shoutout to the morning/afternoon crew. Whatever you're doing, keep doing it. We drove up to the drive thru at 10:36pm. Google says it was still open soon and closes at 12pm. We waited for 10 minutes behind another car thinking they were taking forever to order. They finally drove up and we pull forward and wait for only three minutes (considering we were there for 10 already) and leave to go up to the window. Lights were on but nobody was there. read more

This is absolutely the worst Sonic we have ever been to. Most of the locals know not to eat at Sonic in Pigeon Forge, and now we do also! On June 11th, 2025, @ 2130, we took a group of baseball players there from Ripken Baseball Field after a baseball tournament. The kids like Sonic from where we are from. The line of cars behind us was to the street, but the line was moving VERY Slow. What we noticed is that vehicles were just pulling out of li e and leaving after waiting 15 minutes or so. When we got to the ordering speaker, the woman asked if we were from Door Dash. We said no. Then NOTHING!!! After 5 minutes I asked if she was going to take our order, NOTHING!!! Another 5 minutes, NOTHING!!! Through the speaker we could hear people laughing. So I asked them why they were so RUDE and disrespectful to people and inconsiderate to their time? She said, GET the F* OUT of here, We're not taking g orders!!! I told her that she was a disgusting person and left. As we drove by the window, three people, all American Americans, were laughing. The woman gave us the finger, and I took a pic of it!!! We were so so so lucky not to eat from this place. We stopped by the nearby WalGreens and bought some ice cream. The manager there told us NEVER to eat at any of the Sonics in the area. She said that all the Locals knew that!!! The speed of service was exceptionally slow especially being the location was not busy at the time of visit; however, once served (25 minutes for one chicken wrap and grilled cheese) the food was fresh and tasty. Tried the new grilled cheese cheeseburger and I have to say it wasn't half bad; for a fast foot burger. It's a double cheeseburger with thick Texas toast style bread instead of the traditional bun. Overall not bad. The best part of going to sonic are the pretzels and cheese. They complete with restaurants all day long on flavor. They're soft and the cheese dip is slightly tangy from the mustard that's in it. This location is a nightmare to order from. The drive thru lines block in the customers sitting at the stalls, so be forewarned. read more

If you want a nice meal, don't come here. We waited 20 minutes just for them to take our order. I got a m&m shake with chocolate ice cream and whip cream and when my order came out it was a vanilla shake, with one little small dollop of whipped cream, and all my m&m's were at the bottom. The reason I even got the m&m shake was because on the ad it looked so delicious and when the guy handed it to me, all my hopes and dreams of getting a good shake disappeared. Wow. This place needs a complete overhaul of its staff. They were extremely rude. Cars were pulling off one after another from waiting too long. Our's was a mobile order so we had already paid for it. We waited an hour and was told it still wasn't ready. It's not like we placed some huge order. They were extremely rude when we tried to cancel the order. They refused to refund it. We had to call corporate to get a refund processed. They have signs up advising that walk up patio orders are open but also discouraging them and advising the preferred way is the drive through due to covid. Doesn't really make sense because no one is wearing a mask and I'm sure they still accept credit card and cash which would be mutual touching of items etc... also still allow pressing buttons so none of it really makes sense. They also lived up to their advisement that drive through is the preferred way...they never answered the intercom to assist us and drive through was very long. The staff where very rude and unhelpful. You pull up to parking stations and if you are not picking up you are not wanted at this business. They do not want to serve anyone that is not taking it to go. So if you have plans to eat in don't stop here. Definitely one of those times that I should have read the other reviews. We typically stop at a Sonic location at least once on every road trip. Since we were staying in Pigeon Forge, we decided to stop at their location. Mistake. We ordered from the outside seating area. They obviously do not like guests using that spot as there is a sign that it is only supported for limited purposes, and they were slow to respond. We placed our order. Following several selections, we were told that they were out of the chosen item. We ended up with only about half of our selections because they didn't have many of the items selected. There are many restaurant options in Pigeon Forge. Stop by any of the others. read more

I ordered food on the mobile app. My mother in law checked in with my name and I heard her over the phone say we have you checked in, food will be right out. An HOUR later the food never showed and when I called they hung up on me twice and refused to give us a refund. We had to call headquarters to get a refund. We let them know what happened. People were waiting in the drive through and weren't being waited on. Finally driving off. People were driving off after waiting to order and never receiving food. Go to another location. This was not pleasant. I ordered 50$ worth of food for my family and the fries were nasty and brown from sitting. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with just ketchup and they gave me a plain one. I wouldn't have been that flustered about it but they did not give me ketchup packets either. They forgot the bbq sauce for the popcorn chicken. My patties were burnt on the edges. It it always good for providing quality fast food that you feel bad for eating, but it provides the quality fast food you just gotta have sometimes. I've been a fan of Sonic for many years, but I was extremely disappointed with our visit to the Sonic in Pigeon Forge near Dollywood on the evening of 7/16/13. The food was cold, the fries and tots were half-full, and the corn dogs tasted [and felt] like fried rubber. I don't know if it's something that has changed with all Sonic restaurants [I haven't been to a Sonic in over a year] or if it's specific to this particular restaurant, but I honestly don't know if I will return to a Sonic. You might wonder why I gave 3 stars when I had such a bad experience. The only saving grace was the friendly, beautiful, courteous waitress (carhop) who cruised out on skates and brought our food in record time. If the food had been worth eating, the waitress would have pushed this experience to 4 or 5 stars. read more

Literally the worst Sonic ever. We got in line for food near the end of the night, 10:05pm and they close at 10:30. There were several cars in front of us and it seemed like this location is not run with any motivation to make revenue or customers happy. While waiting in line, at exactly 10:30pm...still in the same place we were for the past 25 minutes since the drive thru lane was THE ONLY way to order food, they shut off every light and decided to no longer acknowledge a single customer while waiting. We respectfully informed them of our wait time and requested that they honor the patience of their customers, or even just acknowledge the inconvenience, however the only response we received was that "We're closed" then they chose to ignore us after that and continue to motion to us to leave from the window, like they did to the other 5 or 6 cars before us. It is peak season and for some reason they continue to use the same excuses year after year. I would highly recommend a change in management because whoever was working as the leader tonight was not anywhere close to the material it takes to staff and run this fast food restaurant efficiently and with respect to the community they're in. read more

Worst sonic experience I've ever had. Tried using the app to start off. Doesn't work here. Went to the drive thru and the sign said "out of order." Drove BACK to the drive in side and over half the machines were "out of order." It said no service since it's so busy and they recommend the drive thru ((which is ironic because it's broken)). Pulled up to a working speaker and the first thing I hear is "we are only taking cash payments at the moment. Is that okay?" I can't believe we actually stayed for drinks, but I will never recommend this place or plan on going back in the future now. read more
