Decided to hit up Waffle House for our first breakfast in Gatlinsburg! The first thing we noticed was how clean it was, and that staff were actively cleaning as we entered. One of the cooks noticed that we had been sitting for a few minutes (not overly long) and asked if our server had been by. We stated no, so he took our drink order and our server delivered them. First time at a Waffle House and have to say it was enjoyable. I have the pork chop dinner and it was very good. The service was great and our server was very responsive. Absolutely the very worst experience I've ever had in a Waffle House. We went on a vacation to Gatlinburg/ Pigeon Forge on my birthday weekend. On the morning of my birthday we went in to have a nice breakfast. I showed the waitress my "free waffle " on my birthday email. She looked at it, sighed and demanded that I delete the email right then. I didn't get a "happy birthday" or any other comment except "go ahead and delete that" We overlooked this and waited for our food. What arrived was a crumpled up piece of garbage that was supposed to be a waffle. I wouldn't serve this to my dog. It was wholly unappetizing and looked like a kitchen reject. I understand it's a free waffle, and I did expect just a plain waffle, but I wanted something appetizing. Just because it's free doesn't mean that you serve crap. If you don't want to serve anything for free, then don't send the email. I asked the waitress what it was supposed to be and she said the waffle maker was overused that weekend by the slammedenuff car show. I can understand that, but at least mention when you bring it to me that there was a problem with the waffle maker, don't make it out like there's nothing wrong. Why couldn't I have an alternative item if the waffle maker was broken? Why are you even still using it? The waitress eventually saw I was upset and offered to have it remade, but what's the point? If the first one comes out like garbage, why wouldn't the second one? The whole point of this review is this, WHY would you even think to serve something like this? Especially on someone's birthday. They did ruin my morning but thankfully we found a better place that was absolutely wonderful. We will never return to this Waffle House and I will never order a waffle from any Waffle House ever again. Apparently you can't get a waffle from a place that calls itself a Waffle House. My family did try it to see if it was any good, but I wouldn't touch it. They said it was okay but not very good. read more

Immediately upon entering, my boyfriend and I received a warm southern welcome. The people in Tennessee are so very friendly. We were promptly seated. My server was extremely friendly and attentive. She gave us great tips when it came to the area. Waffle House Pigeon Forge is not real big. There are some booths for seating and some counter seating. You can see all the food being made behind the counter. My server brought me a Fresh Hot Cup of Coffee and a Water with Lemon. My bf ordered an Ice Tea. For our breakfast we both ordered A WAFFLE With SIDE MEAT- 2 Eggs over easy with Toast & Jelly; I chose Grits and a Waffle with 2 sausage patties. My bf ordered the same thing except he chose their Smithfield Ham. Everything was delicious especially their waffles which are a must. They were light and fluffy and had a wonderful taste to it. A cute touch was the Waffle House emblem on the Waffle. I also enjoyed their grits which came with lots of butter, what a treat for a northern girl. We both really enjoy our breakfast. ( it is a lot of food.) I chose to eat a little of everything. They have plenty of free parking in their lot along with some handicapped parking. This place is disgusting found hair in my eggs. The food and the cleanliness of this building was horrendous. during the morning breakfast rush at around 9:30 AM, I ordered the two egg breakfast with white toast and scrambled eggs. about five minutes after we ordered our food,A Pest control worker was putting down sticky mouse traps by griddles and was walking behind the counter and this made eating very offputting and gross. The food looked kind of weird, but I was hungry so I dug in. As I was eating and close to finishing I found a hair in my eggs and I was very disgusted, repulsed, disturbed, distraught, disappointed and so grossed out that I couldn't take it anymore. after this I got up and left the building. It had been almost 20 years since I'd been to a Waffle House, so figured I was due. I got the classic (a waffle), but they had pecan waffles for just a few more calories, so it's vacation, why not. I feel like most Waffle House locations hold onto some lifetime memories. Not just for the food, but for the reason why people visit Waffle House. STRIPPERS! The night prior to my visit at this location, we were up all night at a Bachelor Party at a cabin in Pigeon Forge area which had a stripper who stole my wallet, money, almost identity, and multiple other valuables. As we left the cabin following the bachelor party, we noticed a couple items missing, including wallets. We get to Waffle House and the server at the bar area understood us completely, took our order, and was amazing! The humor was flawless during our visit. We ordered some of the basics from the breakfast menu which you can never go wrong with. we are just so pleased with this location. I recently re-visited this location on another trip with friends from the west coast and gave them the same experience (minus strippers). They were all very pleased with this location and if we all are ever in Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg again, we absolutely plan to visit this location again. This was one of the few restaurants open late night on Thanksgiving. To say they were busy would be an understatement. But the staff had a system for handling the crowd. We had about a 20 minute wait to be seating, but in my opinion there is really no better people watching than late nite at a Waffle House so the wait went by quickly. There were just two of us so we were able to snag a booth I a corner and get down to business... what were we having on those hash browns? The hubby decided to live life on the edge and have them "all the way" and I of course said "are you sure about that?". I went for smothered and covered (cheese and onions). I will say that while I was dubious about chili and cream gravy on the potatoes, I bite did prove that it was not a horrible thing.... just interesting. I salute folks who work on holidays in restaurants they often see people at their worst. But these folks were handing a crazy day in stride. That gives this location the 4th star. read more

I can not believe you have people with this type of attitude working for you in this location! Mrs. D (because they wouldn't give me her actual name) told me to leave after assuming I was with a different party that just walked in and she copped an attitude with. So with half the dinner closed off. Her attitude killed 7 orders in less than 5 min. I tried to speak to Cory but his attitude was following right behind Mrs d.. for the simple fact of those two's attitude I will not be going back. There are more friendly places in PF that would love your business and invite you with a smile. Cory I hope this reminds you the staff you keep and the environment they provide is your responsibility as a manager.
