This was the burger that I received. The bun was so hard that I refused to eat it. After a 20 minute wait I expected the food to be hot but it was as though it had been sitting around for hours. I keep giving them chances, I'm done. More often than not, the burgers are served cool to barely warm. I got the new groovy fries, you would think for a new showcase item they would serve them fresh and hot. No. The groovy sauce? I'm not sure what Sonic was thinking, it's horrible and really upset my stomach. I own a restaurant and appreciate how hard it is to staff and keep a place open, I truly do. But we are also incredibly adherent to food code and won't serve anything that is supposed to be hot under safe serving temps. It makes me wonder if anyone even has a food thermometer in this store. I won't stop here again! We went through Drive thru since we have a travel trailer attached. It took quite a while to get to the window. We still waited a while after paying. We start pulling off and realized they forgot a burger so we had to turn around... with a travel trailer attached. Hubby goes to front to let them know since drive thru line was long. They told us to pull to side.... we waited again and waited for one cheeseburger. After about another 15 minutes, I got out again and they apologized and said they're making it now. This Sonic is laughable at best. Very rude employees with no customer service or listening skills. Got our order wrong twice and would not answer the intercom when I would try to get it fixed. You are better off going to the McDonalds down the street. I followed about 5 other cars right from the Sonic parking lot into the McDonalds drive-thru. And then I got my order and they gave me the cheese sticks and also charged me for them. Also every time I've been here the bathroom doors are wide open for some reason. Only downfall was that I had ordered the chicken tenders, and they came so small they seemed to be more like chicken nuggets. Three days later I was in the emergency room getting my stomach pumped and had to spend a week on anti bacterial pills and a liquid diet. In the end I lost 7 pounds. This was not this Texans 1st rodeo with New Mexico Hatch chilies, nothing else like them. One of the best burgers ever, Green Hatch chilies/Jalapenos/cheese. The service was like family. Stopped here on our way through to Texas. My daughter is graduating from Texas Tech, Guns UP! We thought it would be better than McDonald's however my #1 was cold and drowning in mayo. The bun was soggy (both ends). I had to tear it apart and ended up taking just two bites. This has got to be the worst hamburger I've ever eaten. Blah...my onion rings were nice and hot but they didn't include ketchup (or ask if we wanted any. ..didn't know we had to ask). Really painful experience. We should have known it was going to be bad when we had to wait five minutes to even order. Then they didn't have slushes. We ordered sweet tea with easy ice and got sweet tea with extra ice. When I asked them to correct it was told they might not be able to because they might not have more tea. Drinks they were out of, but attitude they have in spades. Seriously bad service. read more

I stopped in here twice today. Breakfast was okay. It was a quick breakfast and the service was good. I stopped in again in the afternoon because the boneless wings were half price. Our ticket was an impressive $33 and after 20 minutes, our items arrived, they couldn't tell us which was which, and after already leaving and getting back on the highway, we discovered only ONE of the blasts/shakes were even correct and all were melted. Driving from Texas to Colorado 9 1/2 hours straight. Staying at a hotel next to the Sonic Drive-In in Raton, NM. Decided to get food there and bring it back to hotel. It also took 15 minutes in drive thru. Felt bad for others waiting behind me! Got something other than I ordered. It was so gross but I was so hungry (hadn't eaten since 9:00 night before.) This place gave me the wrong order. I already left and couldn't go back. I requested a refund from a fellow who claimed to be the GM. I've yet to receive it. The fries were nasty as well. Issued my son a corn dog that looked like someone had smashed it. My cherry limeade was sprite with cherry flavoring. When I went back for my money the manager didn't understand my problem. She brought me $1 for the corn dog and asked if that was enough. I told her that since I had to come back I wanted reimbursed. She came back with one more dollar instead of the reimbursement. Sonic in Raton nm is one of the few choice of food in town after ordering a meal for 8 of us we found this task is a little to complicated for the staff. We ordered all the same meals with no onion only to find that there was extra onion on every burger we ordered. After calling sonic and making them aware of their mistake we were told we would be credited on out next visit. When we decided to order again they did not remember us and said we did not have a credit with them. We paid for another meal full price only to find once again they added onions to all our burgers after we asked them not to, we made another trip for the right order and paid for tater tots that we were never given. Customer service is a huge part of my career and I know what it can be like but in order to make money the customer should come first. I would recommend Dairy Queen if you are looking for a quick good meal in Raton. read more
