Menu and drink list dated August 2025

Pleasantly surprised. Good food, good atmosphere, excellent Margaritas and nice staff.

The worst chicken quesadilla I have ever eaten, the tortilla was hot but the chicken and cheese inside were cold. The salsa that comes with the chips is tasteless and no heat. I expected better from New Mexico. The service was okay but the bland food cannot be forgiven.

Fajitas on the 'Two for $20' special!

Value-driven Mexican food in the lobby of a small hotel. Don't let the construction zone out front fool ya; this place has good food at fair prices. Wait to be seated, then enjoy chips and chunky salsa while perusing a menu that would appease any Tex-Mex fan. Drink choices include Margaritas and beer, including a selection of imports w the standard USA options. House Margarita is decent; large wiithout twangy flavors. Lunch specials looked good, and the "Two for $20" specials bring quality food in plenteous measure for your dollars!

Chilli Colorado Plate with Slow cooked beef and chili sauce.

Passing through Raton and stayed within walking distance of the restaurant. The restaurant was a pleasant surprise. The service was super friendly. They have Modelo Negra on draught and the homemade salsa is great. Portions are just right and spiced for those who like a little heat. I had the Colorado Plate which I would highly recommend. My wife had the Burrito Rancho that was fresh and authentic. Overall, if you're traveling through Raton, it's worth the stop.

Best Mexican food and service in Raton. The restaurant itself is like an old saloon and I can guarantee a return

The food was discussing service, and the mediocre beer was cold kinda pricey for nachos

Good food, good service. It was a cute place. I had the tamales and they were delicious.

Food was drab and cold. The service was good however. Server was friendly and our food came out without a wait.

The building itself is great -- adobe-style, colorful, and exactly what you hope a Mexican restaurant looks like. When you walk in, the atmosphere is lively and welcoming. We were greeted right away and seated immediately. Chips and salsa came out quickly. The salsa tasted fresh and traditional, but it had a little more kick than I personally can handle. (If you like spicy, you'll probably love it.) We also ordered guacamole, because we order guacamole everywhere we go -- it's kind of our thing. This one surprised us a bit. Instead of the usual chunky guac with onions and tomatoes, it was more like mashed avocado with a generous amount of red pepper flakes. Unfortunately that pushed it into "too spicy for me" territory. For drinks we shared a piña colada, which was fantastic -- topped with whipped cream and a cherry and exactly what you want after a long day of driving. I ordered the combo fajitas (chicken and steak) and they came out sizzling hot on the classic cast-iron platter with peppers, onions, and tomatoes. Always a good sign when you can hear your dinner coming from across the room. It came with rice, beans, sour cream, and guacamole on the side. The rice had a nice smoky flavor and the beans were topped with melted cheese -- both really good. They don't automatically include shredded cheese with the fajitas, but they happily brought some when I asked. My husband ordered the chicken and cheese quesadilla appetizer, but when it arrived we both laughed because it was enormous -- definitely entrée-sized. He said it was really good and had no trouble finishing it. Service was a little slow, but the place was busy and had a great vibe. It felt like one of those local spots people in town love. It's also right near the highway, which probably makes it a popular stop for travelers like us. Prices were about what you'd expect for a sit-down Mexican restaurant. No military discount, but overall still a solid experience. If we find ourselves driving through Trinidad again, we'd absolutely stop back in.

It's ok. Don't ask to sit at the bar unless you wear hearing protection; cause they make each…read morefrozen margarita in that one blender in your face.
