The menu has a variety of different options for you to choose from, burgers, hot dogs and drinks. Love the tater tots. Drinks are also great. I don't have a favorite go to dish yet. Service is excellent and they are very friendly. You can order from drive thru or pull up to a parking stall and order from there. No more roller skating. I wonder why? Order taker was not competent. Waited 40 minutes for 3 sonic blasts a cheeseburger and chicken tenders. With fry's. Tiny order but kept coming out and saying sorry as they serviced over 20 other vehicles that came after us. Order was probably wrong and much larger but I mentioned to them multiple times wasn't right on screen but manager said it's good don't worry about it. Ended up leaving. This is the second time I've had to complain about this Sonic location, and it's the exact reason I stopped coming here. Came to pick up a mobile order, and the experience was frustrating from start to finish. The app wasn't working for check-in, and there was no clear way to contact an employee for assistance. spent several minutes trying to find someone just to get the order. When we finally got the drinks, neither one was filled to the top. There was about an inch of empty space in both cups, and no, nobody had taken a sip. If I'm paying for a medium, I expect to receive a full medium. If you're only going to give customers the amount of a small, then charge for a small and refund the difference. To make matters worse, one of the drinks was completely wrong. I ordered a Blue Coconut Slush, and instead received what appeared to be a Blue Cream Slush loaded with vanilla ice cream. It was absolutely disgusting and tasted nothing like what I ordered. It's not a minor customization mistake--it was an entirely different drink. I honestly don't understand what's happening behind the counter. Making a slush is not rocket science. Not only was my order made incorrectly, but both drinks were underfilled, and now the incorrect drink is going straight into the trash because it's gross. The total was over $11, and for that price I received poor service, an incorrect drink, and portions that weren't even filled properly. We don't live close to this location, so there was no practical way to go back and have it fixed. Overall, it was a complete waste of time, money, and energy. Updated review: Only two Sonics in North County, this one in San Marcos and one in Vista. Plus maybe four in greater San Diego, and two in Murrieta/Menifee. So not that many in the county. I'm usually at San Marcos or Kearny Mesa. This one is smaller, and pretty easy in and out. I usually order on the app for specials, and the half-price drinks offer. I like the slush with the real Strawberry pieces, less than $4 for the 44oz size with the discount. And it stays frozen well in a large insulated tumbler. Food is ok, not gourmet. Burgers aren't quite as good as Wendy's for the similar burger. But offers like an order of Mozzarella sticks for $1.99 make a great deal. The new crinkle fries are good, a crisper version of the Del Taco fries If you're picking up an app order, park in a menu stall, check in, and type in your menu number. An employee will deliver your order to your car. I use it as part of another meal, mostly for sides. read more

We ordered 2 orders of the cheesy bacon super sonic stack and cheese groovy fries and one with chili cheese. We said with everything on one and the other same but with no onion. I pulled into one of the stalls and after a few minutes placed an order from my phone for two slushes. They've gotten ridiculously expensive so I wanted the 1/2 off for ordering on the app. About 5 minutes later the screen says Ivan is on the way with my order. I wait...and wait..and wait. 8 minutes later I still don't have my order. I repeat...all I ordered were two slushes...no food. So I hit the red button.. And once again I wait...and wait...and wait. No one ever answers... Waiting seemed to be the theme of the day. So I get out of the car and go up to the building and someone asks what can he help me with. I tell him I've been waiting for my order that was supposedly on the way 10 minutes ago to stall #12. He says he will bring me my order. So I get back in my vehicle and he brings my order a few minutes later. He asks if there is anything else he can get me and I say no. I should have asked for my money back but I did not. Yesterday, me and my wife had just finished shopping at Stater Brothers and had perishables in our car, and we were both hungry and exhausted. We decided Sonic would be a good eat around 9:30pm or so. We pulled up to Spot #4 which was just in front of the drive through, and pushed the red button to order. We waited... and waited... and waited, and the red button was de-activated and WE WERE NEVER SERVED! Other people were going to the drive through and were getting their orders filled immediately and WE WERE THERE BEFORE SEVERAL OF THEM! I pushed the red button again and yelled/screamed waving my hands in the air... but I was ignored! This pissed me off, so left I went to the Burger King nearby, and guess how long it took for them to ask for my order? I was helped in less than 10 seconds when I pulled up to BK's drive-thru. We ordered our food and customized our burgers and could see on the screen what we were ordering to confirm. It only took them less than 5 minutes to fill my order, and everything was good the way it was. Burger King now sets the gold standard of "fast food." This Sonic is a joke, and it's certainly not as fast as Sonic The Hedgehog, one of the most iconic video game characters known for their speed. I will never come back to here, because my perishables from stater brothers were ruined by all the time I sat in my car waiting for someone to help me at Sonic that NEVER HELPED US! I shouldn't have to wait more than a minute for someone to take my order at a "Fast Food" place, or if they needed more time, usually they would say something over the intercom. If there was going to be such a long wait to be served, YOU NEED TO LET US KNOW!!! THIS IS INEXCUSABLE! To whomever the manager is at Sonic during the late shift on Monday - whoever was working that night, they need to be written up or fired because there's NO EXCUSE for customers not being helped as soon as they are ready to order. You will keep losing customers this way, because people are waiting too long without knowing when they will be served, and when they are NOT HELPED like I wasn't, we'll go somewhere else like I did with Burger King, or even In and Out where they have employees outside at all times taking orders in their long lines. BOTTOM LINE: Take the %^%$ing customer's orders fast, or at least SAY SOMETHING about the wait time! Don't help the people at the drive thru that arrived later than your non-drive thru customers, because this just aggravates all of us and is UNFAIR! When a Burger King does a better job than you guys do, that should be a clue that you all need to get with it, or more negative reviews will come in like mine! read more

Took 5 minutes to acknowledge me in the drive thru- and that was after I was ignored at the self ordering screen, which is really crazy. The worker who gave me my order was really apologetic and sincere, so I don't blame the workers but definitely something going behind the scenes with management. Quite possibly the worst fast food in all of America. Flavorless burger, dead French fries (I thought they served only tots) and a hot dog that seemed to evade every bite (smallest dog ever). "Keep biting, it's in there somewhere". I really don't know why we decided to drive through and eat at this place; and then, there's no drive up window. There's just a booth that someone exits from when handing your food and taking your money. Then that person disappears again inside the booth, all while another employee wizzes by in front of your vehicle on roller skates delivering the next worst meal to some unsuspecting car waiting at the '60's styled gimmick that made this place famous. They say the shakes are why people come here. I don't know about that, because we could never get past the really under deserving food. We were boldly reminded of why we don't eat here. Absolute WORST experience I've ever had at Sonic tonight. I've been a Sonic customer for decades and tonight may have been my last visit. My family of six ordered through the app to save time on the way home from a long day. We are tired, stressed, and know we can count on Sonic to make dinner easy. The app said to "hold tight" for over 15 minutes, charged our card, and never updated on the Sonic system. I went to the doors to ask for help and waited several minutes before being addressed. The manager came out and said I should close I out my app and reopen. This prompted me to check in at the stall and said "the kitchen has your order" but the kitchen had zero record of the order. My four children, partner, and dog were all waiting in the car this whole time - the manager did not seem to know anything about the app or any resolution other than filing a dispute with my card company (which would hugely inconvenience my whole financial system as I must replace my card numbers to report fraud). The app finally sends my order to the kitchen after a third restart. The manager returns, frustrated, and tells me they'll get started but that it is a large order ($56). I told her that's why we ordered in advance and she scoffed at me. We wait 10 more minutes and then someone comes out to tell us that they ran out of chili (which they would not have had they started our order 45 minutes ago when we arrived). They offered no solution other than changing our order or waiting "probably about an hour" for new chili. At this point, I am in tears. All we wanted was an easy dinner fix and to get home. We still have 45 minutes to drive, it's getting late, and everyone is hungry. My family then has to change four items on the order to accomodate no chili (I do not even believe what we received was the same cost as what I paid) Another 10 minutes and they bring out the food, and the carhop offers to bring out one ice cream cone as an apology. Absolutely flabbergasted by this BS, we just stared in disbelief and my partner said we needed our drinks so we could leave. Five minutes later, and the drinks finally arrive. From the time we placed the order (and were charged) to the time we left, over one hour had passed. A whole hour and we still did not receive what we ordered because they neglected us until our order wasn't possible. I am so, so frustrated. read more
