Location is fairly clean outside, and stays busy all times of the day/night. I enjoy the late hours of open business. It crosses my mind to go to Sonic early in the morning. Unless you upgrade to a Large or Extra Large, it really doesn't feel worth the money. Even the fries and tots can be hit or miss, both in quantity and taste. Too much greasy oil. Another thing to note is how stingy they are with sauces. There's a small paper posted at the drive-thru window listing the extra charges for additional sauce, which feels a bit ridiculous. If I'm paying for a meal, a little extra sauce shouldn't be such a big ask. That being said, I do love their chicken, and I keep coming back because they have a wide variety of menu options. I always come to Sonic for the ice cream slushes, milkshakes, burgers, chili cheese coney dogs, grilled cheese sandwiches, etc. The food and drinks are always good. Service is consistently a hit-or-miss. The majority of the time, the speed of service is slow. Also, there were a few times where they have messed up my order. For example, they would ring in a "Strawberry Slush" instead of a "Strawberry Ice Cream Slush," which is the one I wanted and verbatim what I told them. They have no problem fixing orders if they are made wrong. It's only unfortunate how I would have to wait even more for them to get it right. I'll still come here. Sadly, this is the closest location for us, so yes, we did drive 30 minutes down to Stockton to get some Sonic. This is proof that commercials are convincing! Despite being 2:00 in the afternoon, we tried out their breakfast menu, thanks to Sonic offering all day breakfast! I went for their Supersonic Premium Burrito. At $4.19, it's pretty big! My favorite part is the spicy jalapeños. It definitely added a nice sour and spicy kick. I wasn't a huge fan of the large tomato slices though, and would rather have pico de gallo instead, or at least smaller chopped tomatoes. The brioche sandwich was also super yummy. The bun was surprisingly soft and you gotta love gooey cheese. We had to get some shakes too, because you can't come to Sonic without getting a crazy flavored drink or fancy loaded milkshake. It always seems like they're on a rotating special though because I don't always see items that are in the commercials. I decided to try their new cake batter shake. It was as yellow as can be! The flavor was pretty accurate though. My cup wasn't even all the way full though. My husband's banana shake was even better since it uses fresh banana. Yum! Place has gone to crap. Car stalls aren't open past 10 pm, they no longer do the happy hour, their card machine won't work, and they do not take tap to pay. They had my order made and everything and didn't even try to make it work. Definitely lost my business. They used to be so good and open the car stalls till they closed. What happened to the shakes, I always order a chocolate banana shake and have always loved them. As far as I know they have always used fresh bananas in the shakes but tonight it tasted like artificial banana flavoring and way too much! Sonic Located in Stockton, CA Here's our story: My Son and yours truly have been wanting to comeback for sometime now. He's been away for college for a year. We kept talking about Sonics. So we decided to come here for lunch on Father's day. I wanted to barbecue for lunch and dinner. It was hella packed and I wasn't even about to hit the drive thru or pull up in one of the stands. You can walk up and order, that's my preferred way. There's also some seating but it's pretty limited. The seats fill up pretty fast. Sonic has this $5 Sonic box. You get a soft drink, Cheeseburger, a specialty Hot dog and your choice of fries or tater tots. I normally go for the tots. Just standard tots nothing out of this world. Just tastes good in my opinion. The Cheeseburgers aren't that bad, we enjoy them and never had any complaints about them. For the Hotdogs, My daughter had cheesy bacon pretzel, my son had a pretzel dog and yours truly had a Chicago hot dog. We've been here a bunch of times and always enjoyed our time here.
