He put something together for my aunt. I ordered a chicken sandwich, which is also not on the menu. It is essentially chicken strips in a sandwich. So goood!good!! I decided to get the large Fruity Pebbles milkshake, blended with Vanilla Ice Cream. This specific cereal was a classic choice and one of my favorites in my childhood. The actual milkshake was so good! Not only was it beyond delicious, but it also brought back so many nostalgic memories of being a kid. I've been anticipating a day without dieting, banking thousands of calories to be spent on a wonderful meal from Burnies. I saved up colorful photos, a massive double cheeseburger, (in this case crowned with a fried egg), those glorious golden onion rings and a rich chocolate shake for myself and a Breakfast Burger for my dear husband, a former professional cook. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The drive up joint wasn't crowded around 8 p.m. on a week night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The counter staff was super helpful and cool. When my DH noticed no chocolate shake listed but explained my craving, the cook agreed to whip one up. Prices aren't cheap but Midnight At Burnies is very generous with the portions and the quality of products, for the most part, is quite good. Impressive to see topnotch Genova buns, nice 5 ounce hamburger patties, good-sized tomato slices, fresh lettuce and real genuine full-fat ice cream in those shakes. The onion rings were plentiful and didn't disappoint, crispy yet flavorful breading and moist onion sweetness inside. My 12 ounce shake was top rate, although personally I was dreamed of chocolate ice cream and chocolate sauce. (In my Foodie paradise there would also be chocolate milk, but I digress). Hubsters adored his Breakfast Burger from the yummy soft bun, fried egg, country gravy, hash browns to the nice thick beef patty. "9.5" was his almost never heard of rating, "would have been a 10 but the meat was overcooked." Since he is such a big sweetie, driving across town to grab up this bounty and willing to try a new spot, I divvied up my golden rings, 6 for him, 5 for me. And now to my double cheese burger. In a few words, epic fail. The bun, sauce, tomato, lettuce and pickle were quality items, yellow (American) cheese meh but the 2 patties resembled smashed (about 1/8th or so inches thick) but burnt almost beyond recognition. You almost needed dental records to identify this as beef. Dry as a bone, no juice or moistness whatsoever. I've taken a few pictures and can only imagine this as a oops, spaced out at the grill, super rare occasion. On a positive note, our 4 Siberian Huskies didn't mind. So 4 stars for so many excellent muncheros; with a medium to medium well set of regular, not super-smashed patties, then yes a full 5. I'm totally positive Burnies doesn't stand for burnt, ultra baked or shriveled into leather. C'mon dudes, lets have a re-do, but my burger should be on you, right? Came here to try the shakes that everyone talks about. I decided on the chocolate banana shake. I asked if it was made with chocolate ice cream or vanilla, and they mentioned it was whichever you wanted. I opted for vanilla (not a chocolate ice cream fan), with the chocolate syrup and added the banana. It ended up coming with the chocolate ice cream (definitely not vanilla). While it was good, it is just not the same when you can taste the difference. I hadn't tried the shake until I got into the car and it wasn't worth standing back in line. Been wanting to try this restaurant for a minute. All my friends been hyping this place up and I see so much good reviews. Safe to say in my opinion the hype was not real. The service was not good, I did not get greeted into the restaurant. The cashier came out from the back shortly after me and my friends walked in. The ambiance is alright. The menu is super simple and basic, straight to the point very classic only diner vibes. The chairs and tables are out dated, the chair I was sitting on had a ripped cushion. The food was alright, nothing too crazy I would say. I ordered a double smash burger with fries and I also ordered a fruit pebble shake. The fries were not good, not very much seasoned. The burger was alright as well, just a simple double cheese burger, nothing to praise about. I would wish the patties were smashed a little bit more but that is just me. The fruity pebble milkshake was the show of the whole meal. The fruity pebble shake probably be in my top 5 best milkshakes I have tried so far. Overall I give this restaurant a 3/5 star review. I generally really like Burnie's and usually have good experiences here, but recently something has been off for at least half a year now. I used to come here a bit often and get their Bernie fries but I stopped for a few months after getting really salty orders. I thought that maybe it was a one time thing but after a few times experiencing this, I asked for my order with no salt or additional seasoning. I'm sure they pre-season their food because it still came out quite salty and didn't make too much of a difference. So after another two times of experiencing that, I stopped going for a while because the food was far too salty for me. Last night I came in after my hiatus because I was craving a milkshake and Burnie's has the BEST milkshakes. Thick, cold, creamy, and very tasty. However last night when I ordered their Oreo milkshake, it wasn't made like I remember it. It tasted mostly of vanilla with barely any Oreo chunks in it. There was maybe one Oreo blended in the shake. I was pretty disappointed and didn't enjoy the milkshake as much. It also upset my tummy and I woke up in the middle of the night in pain. At this rate, I am not sure when I'll have another good Burnie's experience. I'm not sure if they changed their cook or what, but it just hasn't been the same in a while. I saw new limited menu items that I wanted to try next time but I think I might hold off on that. Delicious, quick Sunday lunch after church. We have not been able to find anything like SoCal burgers. We just may have here. I seen on other reviews they had chili fries and was looking forward to having those. Unfortunately, they said the don't have them anymore. We were the only ones in there. They have plenty of inside seating. Walk up and place your order. It took about 15-20 mins to get our order. Everything was so HOT and FRESH. If the food isn't burning my mouth, it's not hot enough. I've never had a burger burn my mouth. It was so flavorful. Perfect amount of sauce. The French fries were all hot. Their sauce went perfect the fries. My cousin had told me about this place and honestly, if you're ever craving burgers and loaded fries past 5pm...this is THE SPOT. It's kind of like a chill, man-cave, laid back vibe inside and it's clean too! So you can tell they take pride of their establishment. Besides all that...the menu has a good range of items and variety! It's not an overwhelming menu, which I like because sometimes, too many item choices is too stressful. I guarantee that there's something on there that you and your party will enjoy. I ordered the Burnie Fries, Burnie Cheeseburger, and Fruity Pebbles Milkshake. (Not pictured: my brother got the Cowboy Burger, Chili Cheese Fries, and Oreo Milkshake) Since there was a pretty long line when we went, we waited about 15-20 min. for our food and we chose to take it "to-go" which most customers there did. Very few dined-in. But let me tell you, the wait was worth it! The burgers were really really good!! You can tell that they are true to their advertising and use fresh meat and never use frozen meat! Pretty cool that they hand press it too, that's why the wait for your food is long! Freshly made to order. Hehe. The genova bun they use pairs really well with the overall texture of the burger when you take a bite! Just an overall great burger! It might be a little greasy for some, but it didn't bother me one bit. The Burnie Fries were amazing as well! The only downside for me, was that the fries were more on the mushy side. I wish it were more crispy on the outside, but the meat and the sauce and everything on it were so good!! I definitely recommend going here and I know I'll be back here again when I visit family. I read the reviews prior to visiting this place, not too long ago and was really craving either a really great Philly cheesesteak or a really great burger. I decided on the cheesesteak because I was really hungry and unfortunately the flavor wasn't there at all. To me it lacked seasoning and that good old Philly cheesesteak taste. I must say that it is pretty big so if you're not finicky about flavor and you just have the munchies then I would still recommend getting it. I tried the Bernie fries and they weren't really that hyped up to be what I was helping them to be the Bernie sauce that they use wasn't really great and it was just hamburger meat and cheese, which sounded good, but the fries lacked any sort of seasoning.
