I have loved Sonic since before I even knew how to pronounce it being from the south. This is my second time visiting and the first was just for a drink. This time, my boyfriend and I ordered a #1and a #3. When the burgers came out, they were exactly the same. Both #1's. We sent the order back. My boyfriend actually walked inside and let them know. Jawanda (the first carhop) was apologetic for the wait with the first order. I do not know the name of the lady who came out the second time but she didn't say a word. Customer service is my forte. I don't understand how the order was monumentally misunderstood when there were hardly any other customers! You have a job. You get paid to do it right. Do it right and if you can't, find employment elsewhere. Maybe someplace where the happiness of the customers isn't a priority. Management must be lacking since it seemed like whoever prepped the food was in a rush. Get it together! read more

Terrible. 20 min for fast food...FAST FOOD. Then they charge for the wrong order, and then I have to pull over and wait another 20 min for a different, wrong, cold order brought out. Are there not adults working here? Who is in charge? Cause clearly either its just people fucking off behind the counter, or no one knows how to do the job and you need to fire them all. We drove from Federal way to try the pretzel dogs. They over charged us and then didn't give us all that we ordered. They messed up on my burger and put mayo when I had asked them not to. The communication that they had from where you order and when we bring out the food. The girl didn't even know what she was bring out to us. She said that she didn't bag the food. If you are bringing or out you should check to see that everything is there. I have worked In food service and know how it is. As the food runner you should always check the good when running it. Very rude and we came from JBLM just to have some sonic. The girl was rushing my husband when taking our order and she read the order back to him so fast it was like she was running a marathon. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. I said large, they repeated large, they gave us a medium and then got mad when we wanted it corrected. Then the food was cold and gross, we ordered a #11 and got a single onion ring. All together, nasty cold food, the honey mustard tasted like it was outdated and the service was rude. Along with taking so long to get through the drive-thru (The car behind us gave up and left after 10 minutes) we wasted $15 on dinner. read more

Worst Sonic I have ever been to by far. Insanely terrible service and mediocre food. We ordered in the outside seating area and it took forever to even get anyone to take our order. I used to hate Sonic years ago. Why? I have no idea. Now, when I think of Sonic, I'm reminded of hot summer days in Houston and being able to hit up a Sonic at virtually any corner of town for their awesome happy hour deals. Sonic Coke or a Cherry Limeade? Yes please. I was very pleased when Sonic finally popped up on 6th ave here in Tacoma. Granted, it's winter here now and it's a bit of a drive so we don't make it here too often, but I imagine once it gets warmer we'll frequent it a little more often. The foot long coney and bacon toaster are ridiculously greasy and horrible for you, but good, damnit! I really do like Sonic. read more

First disappointment - they were out of onion rings. Second, the fries we ordered instead of the rings were damn near raw, I'm talking limp, soft, oily pieces of potato.... not appetizing. The slush was mediocre. I've been here before but after this experience, I don't plan on coming back. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

I have been to this location several time I love limeades! My little sister was visiting our new puppy so we decided to take her here since she had never been! She got a brownie cookie dough milk shake. We started to pull out and she asked my husband to stop the car and turn on the light. She showed us a finger nail that was in the brownie she just bit into! So nasty and no it wasn't one of ours she had fake nails on and mine are way to short. This nail was long and real. We turned right around and informed the manager right away. He did refund us the money for her shake then came out and said well no one here has fake nails. I said no sir look at that again it's a real nail and told him he should discard of the brownies they where using for the shakes right away as it was in the brownie it's self not just floating around in her shake. I couldn't finish my limeade after that and I don't know that I will ever go back I am so grossed out. read more

This place is the worst. They take forever & the line is always long. Things are unorganized, I usually have to repeat my order at the window. Only half of the workers are pleasant. Clayton and Natasha were awesome !!! My family and I stopped by shortly before closing and were welcomed with energetic service. The food was prepared quickly and accurately. Our soda was flat and Clayton exchanged it for a different beverage no questions asked. It was refreshing to have such great service from employees who went above and beyond. Don't be fooled by the car hop theme. This place is dishing up garbage just as bad if not worse than most chains. Had a burger, with lots of fake meat seasonings, cold tater tots, and the jalapeno poppers filled with fake cheese that doesn't melt or solidify. They never brought out the ranch or ketchup that I asked for either. Wouldn't go back or rate it any higher either way. read more

The worst service ever yesterday. Ordered a number 1 and a number two, with two drinks, and french fries, and had to repeat the order 3 or 4 times. and then guess what. Instead of two french fries, we got one and one tater tots. Instead of blue raspberry and a Pepsi, we got blue raspberry and a blue slushy. And the burgers were wrong also. WTF? Hey, the place deserves better than 2 1/2 stars... The food is good.. Burgers, wings, hot dogs.. They have good shakes and slushes ... The prices are decent.. We have always heard how great SONIC burgers are supposed to be. We went to this location once before and had an average experience. Went again yesterday and definitely will not go back. Ordered two No. 1 cheeseburgers (not the meal) and the mozzarella sticks. The thin burger patties were room temp at best and had no flavor. The buns were dry, like stale. And the little mozzarella sticks were terrible - a bite into any one of them revealed nearly empty spaces that contained one very small dry rubbery piece of cheese resembling a piece of slightly used chewing gum that had been stretched, dried and inserted. The service was quick and courteous. Put that service someplace that serves FAR better quality food and you will have a winner. Sorry, SONIC, you did not live up to the reputation about which we had heard so many praises. We will not return for a third visit. read more

Yeah, so, not coming back here. I do love a cherry limeade but this location is the worst I've ever visited. Fries were cold, well the fries we are were cold. We had one order of fries with a giant black curly hair right on top. Asked them to please get us a new order. They promptly came and took our old order of fries but we never got the replacement order. Was too scared to complain for fear of what kind of fries we would get if we did. One of us got a coconut slush with pop rocks. The pop rocks AND the syrup were all at the bottom of the drink. The cherry limeade was good. That's about it. $30 for food for 4 - and it was pretty miserable. read more

Incredibly over priced, flat (literally, smashed) hamburgers to go with the stale, puny fries. Ordered three cheeseburgers and two fries. So tasteless and stale only one whole burger and half of the fries were eaten by very hungry kids. The rest was thrown away. As SoCal transplants, Tacoma is clearly a huge opportunity for a really great burger chain. In-N-Out anyone? The staff was very friendly tho. read more

i have found something tacoma has that seattle does not. sonic's is such a novelty to me that i still get excited when i see it although i'm not a fan of their food. this place displays something about our american culture. we get to order whatever we want in our car, get our food served to us, and we get to eat guilt free in the privacy of our car. my friend and i just devoured tons of food the other night and it's just one of those meals where you get to sit and talk and eat in the car that i forget to appreciate sometimes. my highlights of sonic's are all their drinks and desserts- man, i can't wait til it's summer and want cold things again. and instead of fries, they serve TATER TOTS. read more

I went for the first time and tried their hotdog and fries-- buzzed. My friend and I were craving some hot french fries but instead we got warm fries that tasted like they were there for a while... I think it was because we arrived there 20 minutes before they closed but I still think that we deserved some fresh fries! This review deals with just one thing, their slush! Having previously had only slushy water with syrup mixed in, their version was a big surprise. We had to go really far out of the way to get to the location in Tacoma, WA. My daughter wants to go back tomorrow for another slush, no mention of the food that we also had. read more

The wife and I rolled through the drive through for a large shake. The young man gave correct change and afterward handed over the shake as he turned away. It was the turning away without a word that caught my attention, so I asked for a straw. He handed one over saying he only had so many hands. If that is the caliber of disrespectful service Sonic chooses to employ, then good luck keeping the doors open. The food is mediocre at best and nowhere near the car-hop joints of the 1950s and 1960s which the restaurant is patterned after. Management needs to address customer service or close the doors. read more

My co-worker is pregnant and was craving Sonic for lunch today. She drove over and the wait was pretty much non-existent for the lunch period. It was easy to order (we didn't use the drive-thru) but the wait was insane. My food arrived about 5 minutes after ordering but they brought out the wrong drink. No big deal, it happens. They apologized and brought out the right beverage. My friend waited FOREVER for her food. After 15 minutes, I told her that we needed to do something about it because my food was cold by then. They apologized like crazy but sometimes, "sorry" isn't enough. They should have comped something or given her a gift certificate towards her next purchase because there was no excuse. She said that she was only one...then who were the other two people there? Our food didn't taste great and I'm sure that a majority of it is because IT WAS COLD by the time we were able to eat it. I like their slush drinks but otherwise...meh...I've experienced better...waaaaaaaaaaay better. They were taking so long for her food that I was wondering if they were flying the food in from somewhere. No thank you Sonic. read more

Love Sonic!! Had not had it since I lived in Texas years ago. So when we went on a vacation with my kiddos I knew I had to hit it on the way home. I so wish there was one near my hometown. I could just drink their beverages every day with every meal, so many to choose from all so refreshing! For fast food this is actually real food not like burger king or McDonalds. Our waitress was really nice, couldn't really skate tho...not sure if she was new or just a novice skater. Never the less the food was just as good as I remembered. Not only that the kids said the toy was bomb. I agree they are linked up with scholastic so the toys are legit and they make you actually use your brain vs a piece of plastic the kids will play with for 5 mins and loose. read more

When I come here it is usually accompanied by a long wait even when it isn't busy. The food is so-so but the drinks is what makes Sonic good. They have thousands of drink combinations with sodas, shakes, slushes, and best of all limeades. Customer service is usually average at this location. read more
