Jerkies. When I ordered, she didn't seem too concerned about the wait. I get it, I was customer #1000 but did the attitude have to reflect that? Granted it was half priced shakes but I didn't order a shake. All my items were full price. Maybe it wouldn't have been as bad had the car next to mine not had a boasting airbag that could take seem to stop talking about himself to the female passenger he was with. I am so glad they have one local. I am originally from Houston, TX and it always brings me home to eat here. This place even has a wind/rain guard for their outside dining so you don't have to eat in your car and worry about getting food in-between your console and seats, getting ketchup in hard-to-clean places. Went there on a Saturday for lunch between soccer games. My son and i had the chili cheese dogs. The cheese was congealed and the hot dog was super salty. I tried to order onion rings, but they were out of them. We had to wait about 10 minutes in the drive through line (3 cars in front of us) to get our food. read more

The only reason I come to sonic is for their cherry limeades (extra lime no rind) I'll have to ask for extra cherry flavoring from now on cause recently it doesn't seem to have enough. Also the last 3 times I didn't get a cherry in my limeade, how hard is it to remember to put a cherry in a CHERRY limeade. The staff can be friendly at times but most of the time they are rude and rushy. The last time I went with my sisters we all ordered separately on the patio. We all ordered just drinks and it took over 5 minutes for any of us to receive our orders. My sister didn't get a mint with hers and when she asked about it the car hop brought out a handful, which I thought was kind of rude. There is never anyone skating anymore and all of the carhops walk slowly out to your car like they have all the time in the world. And they never check back with you to see if you need anything or even ask if you need sauces. The patio was filthy. Dried lettuce stuck to the sticky tables and garbage all over the ground. Maybe the employees that were joking around with the employee on break could pick up a broom or a rag. For a restaurant that offers thousands of drink combinations and all orders are bagged to go how can you run out of drink carriers? Update: never go here at night. They hold product for hours in the food warmers. If you are craving sonic after 930 ask for everything fresh. read more

This is my second time coming here. Both times I have parked and ordered as opposed to drive through. Good food. I love the Ched 'R' Peppers. The wait was not as long as my previous visit. Some employee drama bleed into the customer side, order taker couldn't get our order right even after she came out of the building to take it face to face and still got it wrong. yesterday was my first time eating there. I wasn't impressed. My family and I, spent $25.00 and the buns were not even toasted. We had chili dogs and fries. The hot dog was a little cold and the fries were hard. NOT SATISFIED. Couldn't even finish it, i thought i might get sick. I even feared feeding it to my kids. The hype of a new restaurant in this area is comical . People in this area will line up to eat pure sh:t. I wanted something as simple as a peanut butter fudge malt ,this is not what I got but that wasn't really what the issue is. The semi frozen foam that they gave me was tasteless just sort of sweet with no identifiable taste of anything. I poured it into the sink to see if anything was in it at all. Just some colored streaks that I presume are a cheap syrup.I'd rather eat the ice cream that I bought at Winco. Seems as everything is flavored with syrups . Thumbs down !!! Absolutely horrible customer service! I went there last Wednesday evening (there were two other people in my car but we ordered on one ticket... Not hard) and they took my order promptly but when it came out half of the order was wrong... So not only did they take another 7 mins getting us what we ordered but they charged me the more expensive price for my inconvenience .. How nice. So the following night we were in the same situation where we got our late from our meeting and sonic was the only place open that late so I said let's try it again, perhaps it was a bad night... Oh no... That was apparently a good night.. I told the guy my order and he literally didn't say anything for 3 mins and I was like hello....? And he said yeah can you give me that whole thing again... So I did! Then because of last night I asked him to read my order back to me which caused him to make a very audible sigh and moan and disappear... All the sudden a woman was on the speaker asking me what I would like! I said my order read back to me... So she proceeds to read it and it is COMPLETELY WRONG AGAIN! I told her it was wrong and she said ... Well then can I have ur order again!? She is expecting me to give her my order for a third time and NOT expect me to think its gonna be wrong? Or apologize or anything ... I said forget it and drove off... These people are totally incompetent, the worst you could possibly ever in a million years hire... Went to the drive-thru @ 7:30 pm. Had to order 3 times because of the background noise from all of the Sonic employees playing grab ass with each other. Once ordering was accomplished, we were asked on four separate occasions if we ordered such and such, by members of the Sonic team, who were all on roller skates. Upon reaching the pay/pickup window, we were informed that our 4 orders were on the way. Four orders?! Once that was straightened out, (some 15 minutes later) I was informed my total was $78 for two orders of bacon cheeseburger meals. Ten minutes after I had them straightened out on the correct total, (around $26) we merrily (not really) drove the 5 minutes back to our home. And, you guessed it, the food was absolute shite. Why a 4 for a fast food joint? Because of the nostalgia for me! I haven't been to a Sonics in 13 years!! This used to be my go to joint when I was living in NM! Yeah it's fast food, yes it can be greasy, but you are not going to find another fast food joint out here that has a million type of drinks! Okay not a million, but seriously you have so many choices! My favorites have always been their Cherry Limeade, Ocean Water, and their shakes! They definitely stray from your typical shake flavors. I mean come on coconut cream pie, peanut butter and jelly, strawberry cheese cake....just a to name a few. Their burgers aren't bad, and my guilty pleasure is their coney dog (shhhhhh...don't tell my doctor that). I am glad I live far away, otherwise I would be in trouble! Mmm tater tots! The staff here are quite friendly and some do the whole roller skate thing, score! I can't go as often as I would like, but I know this will be a treat if we are in the area! read more

Alright so, my wife and I are both from Texas. Sonic is everywhere in Texas. When we moved to Bremerton for military purposes, sonic was one thing we were sad to leave back home. It wasn't but four months later that we actually found out there was sonic in Tacoma! We visit for the first time a month ago and it was wonderful! Just like a taste of home. The service was great as well as the food. We don't venture to Tacoma that much but tonight we did. It was around 10:15 ish. I assume they have quite a problem with their night crew. I had to repeat my order three times and the lady was very persistent on asking "is that all" after EVERYTHING I said. She rushed me while ordering and I didn't even get to finish ordering before she gave me a total. Didn't ask me what I wanted for my drink on the #1 combo. They were so "busily" trying to assist all customers in the drive thru at once that we got our food before we actually paid. It was no where near correct. She didn't ring it up as a combo meal, so I got the Burger only. My other Burger for my wife had no vegetables or Mayo on it, so it was dry with just cheese Bacon and pickles. I had to ask for my tater tots and then wait 5 minutes longer for them. When we finally got to the window, all you hear is the employees screaming at one another. I understand you close at midnight and by the time we left, it was 1030 but that is NO reason to rush your customers so you can get your cleaning duties done before closing. Needless to say, their night crew and day crew are WAY different. I'll be back, just for the simple fact that I love sonic. But, not this late at night. read more

Hello my name is April first and foremost I love Sonic Drive In but as of last week I will never eat at Sonic Drive In especially when located on 6 in Tacoma Washington I am new to pierce County and had no idea that we had a sonic in Washington State I have explain to my husband how I loved Sonic and mind you I do not eat out a lot because I cook at home my husband went to Sonic to surprise me for dinner after work and spent approximately 20 dollars I was very excited to eat the food come to find out I was very disappointed I tried to eat it the shake was watery my chicken sandwich was soggy let us was old and the chicken patty was overcooked the fried chicken patty was obviously soked up with oil I asked you my sandwich. I actually called the same evening and spoke to a quote unquote manager named Eli I was very professional didn't even want my money back I just wanted to come in and exchange my food which I did not finish for something fresh he had question me was very rude I was very disappointed try to call for numerous of days to speak to a supervisor during the daytime no answer I would have came in but I am a disabled mother of a five month old son this so-called manager slash supervisor Eli or Elijah was very unprofessional and to question me don't treat me so disrespectful I will never come back to this Sonic again... read more

I took my son to Sonic on 6th Ave in Tacoma, Wa for his birthday. After waiting for be addressed after 5 minutes of pushing the red button. I pushed it again. Finally, when I got a response it was from an unfriendly slow talking person. I tried asking questions about items but he spoke so unclearly, my kids nor I understood what he said..so we ordered and he did not repeat it back to us. We waited , watching the drive thru just go, go go. A good 20 minutes later I pushed again to see why it takes this long to make 4 small shakes. He asked what stall number and I said 17. He said it should be right out. Then an unkept employee brings us our dripping on the outside shakes. Now my hands are all sticky along with my sons. I handed him a 20 and he said he had to go get change. Now, in every other single prior experience at Sonic, the person would have the change in the carrier. So now we must wait longer and we see him at the door inside just kinda moving back and forth. As if to makes us wait on purpose. I have an 18 month old in the car and is by now screaming to leave. He finally brings my change. This entire experience took 40 minutes. Driving home one son could not identify if any m&ms were in his and the other had difficulty finding the cookie dough. At the bottom there was one tablespoon amount in chunk form. The other found 1 single m&m. Now, why I ask, would people treat any customer this way..we will not return read more

This was our first visit to a Sonic..we were pretty disappointed. The order-taking was a big hassle. Our burgers were actually pretty good, but cold when we got them. The fries were not good...very small order and cold and tasteless. Another disappointment was that there are no refills on our drinks. I've never been to a fast-food place that didn't give you refills. Plus they charge you for water. Not much, but still....Don't think I'll go back. read more

Experience was horrible. Arrived just before 9:45pm, pushed button and waited 20 minutes before order was taken. Paid total immediately using credit card. After 10 minutes of waiting grew concerned about my order. Other customers were driving up to stall next to me, ordering and getting their food within 5 or 10 minutes (at least 5 customers). After 10 more minutes I decided to push the red button again. 5 minutes later the person who took my order came on telling me I've already ordered. I informed her i had not received my order. She then informed me that they were really busy and that they will bring out the order as soon as they could. With other people ordering, getting their order and leaving, I got fed up with the service (which is unbecoming of Sonics I'm used to). A total of 45 minutes wait is ridiculous, especially with others getting their orders. I ended up leaving without anything (they didn't even offer to bring out part of my order or tell me it would be 20+ minutes before I would get my food) and calling my credit card company to contest the charge. I will definitely not be going to that Sonics again. I will give the Puyallup location a try next time. I drove 30 minutes to enjoy your food and this location just ruined the experience. read more

Gross! Was so excited for one to be built near my house but have been there 3 times and each time I regretted it. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS ONE. While I applaud those poor employees for skating in this weather with food in their hands I very much dislike their food. The fries are always freezing cold, the burgers are like freezer food bun and all just came out of the freezer in to the microwave, and the menu is RIDICULOUSLY small. Love me some sonic :) I've been here a number of times, had several different meals(including breakfast) and have never been disappointed.

I had heard their food was good from friends, and after a crappy weekend with car issues, my dad and sister and I decided to swing by and get food. At first all was good, but then issues just kept creeping up. First, they forgot all our sauces. Second, I got a lemon pie shake, that should be sweet but a lemon zing right? WRONG, that was the grossest thing ever! Super sour and bitter! I went back and asked for a different one and she said it was supposed to taste like that! Ew! But they replaced it, I asked for an Oreo Cheesecake one, and when I got back to the car we left, as it had already been a long day. I thought I was safe but I was so wrong. I'm allergic to tropical fruits and coconut, and this shake had apparently been turned into an Oreo Coconut shake, and now my arms are all red and bumpy and I'm sick to my stomach. Never going back. If I had been allergic to peanuts, and they had screwed up like that, I could have been dead. read more
