Y'all. This place is terrible. The ppl that work here are the absolute rudest ppl I've ever met. They open late, close early, they'll have a line and tells everyone they're just done and won't take anymore orders. Had one guy spill a soda all over my car and refuse to replace it, and told me it was my fault for parking too close to the drive up menu parking spot. UPDATE: I see the Sonic Owner or whoever reply that they want specifics about my experience. They also messaged me saying I could email them and get a gift card. I don't want a gift card bc I'm not coming back here but I'll happily get specific about the several experiences I've had at this specific location. - two years ago I came here on about 9:30pm with a bunch of friends and we parked and tried to order and even though the hours stated they were open till 1am, they told us not to bother and that they were closing. It's not like they were overly busy or it was a holiday, they just turned off the lights and refused to answer anyone else that was parked or in the drive thru line. - last year, my sister was craving tater tots and I hadn't gone back since the incident above but went with her bc I figured it must've been a fluke. We got there about 4pm and went to the drive thru, and someone thru the intercom asked what we were doing there. We just kinda paused and said we just wanted to order. They told us they were understaffed and not taking orders. Then turned off the mic. - few months back, I got a part time job a couple blocks from this Sonic and my boss would get lunch from them once a week, and he'd send me to pick it up. I drove up to a spot and told them I was picking up an order, and one day a guy delivering my order spilled a drink on the roof of my car and when it started to drip inside my window I asked for napkins and he just told me that it was my fault. That if I hadn't parked so badly he wouldn't have spilled it. Then just left. No apology, nothing. - a couple weeks ago, my friends and I had a night out and while driving back to their house everyone shouted that they wanted Sonic, so my friend driving took us to this one and we sat in line at the drive thru at 10pm for a half hour. Nobody moved in line at all. A solid half hour of just people idling their cars. Then someone at the intercom kept asking how everything was going. Then someone came on over the PA and told everyone to go home and that they weren't serving anyone anything else tonight. *A few of my other friends and coworkers have had experiences like this at this specific location, they'd go before midnight and told to leave. Their kids in their teens would walk here after studying at the library and get yelled at just for sitting at a table. It's just always ridiculous and I don't understand why people still come to this location. So sometimes you want one of those Sonic ice cream things with goodies blended in. You know, the kind that is so thick you could turn it upside down and it would stay! Yes a nice thick ice cream concoction in a very large cup with a very long spoon. And while you have this craving, you are in your pajamas because it is after midnight. You are up after midnight because your little dog wanted a midnight snack and was making a ruckus in his food bowl. When he sees you he lets you know that the dry dog food bits were not cutting it and that we need to do a Sonic run...both of us in our pajamas. Not saying it was intentional, they probably just didn't flush out the soda fountain properly, but still not okay. Also not the only bad experience I've had at this location recently. This is not the same Sonic that I grew up eating at back in North Carolina but they are trying but they need to try a lot harder. I remeber the burgers tasting better but also back then they didn't care about transfat, gluten and anything else that wasn't good for you. So after seeing all these commericals I wanted to come by and check it out to see if it was the same. I got a milkshake which wasn't bad at all and once time I got a hot dog which could've been better in my opionion. I'm not too sold on the food but the milkshakes were definetly on point! Look at all of the responses from Sonic for every bad review ...Each response is exactly the same - cut/paste offer for a gift card if you email some non-existent email address (so says real people who did respond to their "offer" for a gift card - whose email was bounced). I didn't ask for the gift card that they don't really give out - who would want a gift card to repeat a crappy experience anyways? Either fix the problem or go into some other line of business instead of scamming us. Amazingly horrible food is all I have to say. Worst sonic ever. This place needs an overhaul. I waited till the 5th strike before writing this. If they close at 11pm, you need to arrive before 10pm to order. If you use the drive thru know that every night, not some, every night -- the ice cream machine used for all treats, will "suddenly" not work within 45 minutes of closing. Tonight it was 58 minutes from closing. This is code for clean it now so we can leave work right at closing and not a minute after. So if you want any desserts, know you need to order at least 2 hrs before closing. Also twice now they've had signs on order tower saying "sorry we closed due to employee walk" out only to drive by and see 4 people standing inside laughing and carrying on. We ended up waiting for our ice cream for an absurd amount of time. Not to mention the ice cream was poorly mixed/made, barely had any toppings, AND included the wrong toppings. There was only two cars in front of me at the drive-thru, and a couple of cars parked at the place where you park and order. The wait was long for a drive-thru and not many customers. I waited about 15 minutes to receive my food after ordering, which I think is slow. I saw four workers in and out of the restaurant too, so I'm not sure why it took a long time. Every time we go, the burgers are thin, burned, and small. The fries and every side order are less than half filled, and the limeades taste like soda water. The chicken sandwiches taste like cardboard soaked in grease and then burned, and the fried pickles taste sour and fried in old motor oil. The tater tots are like cardboard pieces fried in old motor oil .. The higher the price, the worse it tastes. They always forget half of our order, which benefits their bottom line because half of the customers don't come back to get their food. my hot dog was raw ... I ordered my foot-long coney dog and there wasn't anything in the first like 3 inches and the last like 3 inches and there was like hardly anything on the dog in the middle. in one of these pictures you'll see ether pink in my hot dog. my boyfriend's sandwich buns were burnt and cold. the fries were raw and still tasted like potatoes. you can see how pale the fries look. and lastly they forgot my ched r' peppers. i'm giving it 2 stars instead of 1 because the man who helped me when i came back was very personable and calm and gave me the option for either a refund or to remake all the food and i just asked for a refund. he was really nice and understanding as well. 0 stars for the food and 2 stars for the service haha. ps. they don't wear roller skates anymore :( read more

Honestly this location is just okay with food quality and service. I have gone multiple times before I decided to leave a review since it's a chain restaurant. Multiple times I've gone I ask for large items, and they give me medium but charge me for large. A few times I've gone for the item that was "the special" for that month or whatever. Like the most recent one was that big scoop Oreo sundae or blast. They didn't have the ingredients two times I've went. Then I got it, it was good good, went to get it a second time to share with sister and there was only Oreo in it really... which was disappointing. But I think the worst thing I've experienced there was I went through the drive thru. A car ordered in front of me then when I pulled up. They said "hi." I said hello. Then I waited for them to reply back. Then a minute passed I said I was ready. Then another minute passed, I said hello multiple times. No one answered. At this point cars are starting to build up a line behind me. I felt bad. Then I said hello, should I just pull up, I don't know if the speaker broke but I can't hear anything. Then the car behind me honked so I felt pressured to move up. When I got up there the car behind me then pulled up too. I asked out the window, "Excuse me, were you able to order?" Girl rudely said yes. I then said okay I'm sorry they didn't take my order so I just pulled up. Then the lady came out and offered my the order for the car behind me. I told her it wasn't mine and no one took my order after about 5-10 minutes sitting at the speaker. Then she said okay as soon as this car pulls up I'll take your order at the pay window. That car was there for about her 10 minutes... then when I got up there. She took my order, which at the moment was one slushee and one sundae. It took 10 minutes for just those two items. **HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE** Drive thru order. When I turned the corner to drive up to the window, there was a beige color 4-door sedan parked mid-way in the drive thru lane. Turned out it was the owner/ main boss of the Franchise in Vista, CA. The women was yelling at her employees through the vehicle window. What type of professionalism is she leading by example. I was shocked that I had to ask her, if I was able to pull thru to the window. The car speed away then returned to park behind me, in the drive thru lane and continue to have a conversation with her staff. If this is how the owner / top management conducts themselves, I could only imagine how the level of Service other staff members would provide us. Went to sonics today first time in a long time, it was the one cheat meal that I was allowing myself today cost me $13 and this is what I got. Everything was over cooked with the exception of the potatoes being undercooked and I can't figure it out because there wasn't anyone there. One car ahead of me. The whole experience got me to beef up my review 1 star. Waited for all the hype to simmer to try this place. Love the concept. You find a parking "spot" and order. The employees roll their way out with your food/drinks and there you go! So I wasn't too hungry and ordered the kid's jr. cheeseburger meal. Burger, tater tots and a cherry limeade. The burger was plain - nothing noteworthy. Disappointed that my cheese didn't even melt! Tater tots - mmmm... Brought back days from grade school when I lived in Michigan. Crunchy! Cherry limeade was the highlight. Very refreshing! Next time will order without ice. I did try the french fries and the tater tots with chili cheese. FF were limp and didn't taste fresh. Came a few days ago, on 6/6/18 around 6pm. Was craving a hot dog or corn dog and randomly saw a Sonics commercial minutes later. Talk about good timing, when marketing meets the sharp pang of hunger cravings. Hubby drove and found a spot to park. Neither one of us had ever been to Sonics before, so this was a new experience. I checked with yelp first and was a little wary based on the reviews. This place averaged 2.5 stars, and most complaints were of staff and messed up orders. We decided on the New York hot dog, pretzel dog with tots, and a corn dog. I also utilized the free cherry limeade coupon (on yelp) for a drink. The food was good, it totally hit the spot and satisfied the crave. The tots were a nostalgic throwback to elementary school lunches (pretty cool). It wasn't fancy or gourmet, but that's not what I was looking for anyway. The hot dogs were as expected, easy and no frills. We waited at least 15-20 mins for our food, and the guy who delivered it was nice. He asked us if we needed anything else, but we said "no." We had assumed that we would automatically get packets of ketchup and mustard, but not the case. It was mildly busy, there were about 5 other cars in the lot and a couple at the drive-thru. Didn't see any questionable characters lingering around and the place was clean. I would come back again if I had another hot dog craving.
